We had dinner here this evening. Despite being very busy we were served quite fast and our meals came out fast also. I was most disappointed that I got the mixed grilled fish and all fillets had many bones in them (more than 10 per piece). I expect fish at 26 euro to be filleted better than this but the taste was good. The complimentary caneli on departure was a lovely touch.

Fish and shellfish from the day of the auction in Arcachon. Cooking in the fireplace in the dining room. Nice selection of wines. Homemade desserts. Decorum room and counter patina without artifices. A boss with an exceptional raw formwork personality!

Very busy even on a Monday night in August and it showed with long wait for the wine and food but the fruits der mer (seafood platter) was well worth it. The grilled sardines were quite delicious. Wine fantastic and very reasonably priced. Would come back, but ask for a table outside to make sure you re noticed when waiting for the food...

No doubt a good restaurant but it is better to go in winter. Victims of their success, in summer there is so much of the world that the quality is not the same as in winter ... pity.
Besides, we eat well, the service is correct. Sometimes we wait a little too much and the bill is a little salty ...

Shabby service,

Shabby service,
More than 15 minutes to have a table, 20 for the menus, 15 for the wine. 30 minutes for vinegar and wine, obliged to ask everything. No reflex on the part of the servers. Pay 98 to eat 12 hot oysters in shallots and 3 slice of eboudin plus a serious warm it's the last time!

Deplorable!

Meal tonight in this restaurant. 2 nd experience and this unfortunately disappointing.

Long wait. Surely not good communication between servers, surely new? (come back several times to ask for the order "when it has already been taken but he was not aware).
One of the waiters didn't know who the dishes belonged to so asked at several tables.
luckily the dishes are there to make up for the service. Foie gras, good duck breast. Camembert and part of the mouth also. We kept our starter knives for the meats while the other tables had other knives (for the same dishes)
15 min before ordering our dessert (still not without cocktails ..)
We ask which tea to choose: black green.
20 min we balance (and I weigh the word) 3 tea bags telling me that there was no more green tea and so I had to choose. In the 3 there was lots of green tea .. in short.
Dessert after 30 min. Disappointing for the chocolate cake .. very dry and hard.

In short, my 1st experience had been very good on April 21 but that of this disappointing evening, may be due to the change of team compared to 04/21 ..

We loved this restaurant - we went back for lunch the next day! You definitely need to book in advance, it's a locals favourite.

There are a few reviews here complaining - I suspect quite a few don't understand French service culture. Sit back, relax, enjoy the ambience and delicious fish & seafood!

Despite having a reservation, was given the worst seat in the house... between bathroom and kitchen entrance. There were other open tables, which we asked for (in French no less!) but were denied. After sitting at the table for just under an hour, we STILL had not been given menus or water. So we got up and left because of the terrible service. Skip!

Pocket restaurant in one of the most pleasant pedestrian streets of Bordeaux. Bistro cuisine with an excellent offer of fish dishes. It's a bit Parisian bistro revisited in the fashion South West with what is light in the kitchen and service ... Can be a bit expensive but it's still good and fresh ... I recommend for a lunch or a dinner between people of good company ...

First recommendation: make reservations, the restaurant is apparently in so many travel guides, that it is quite full and not a table is free. From 20:00 o'clock you have no chance without reservation. The host bridges with small talc and gives a wine. The oysters are fresh, the wine list with open wines unfortunately a bit limited (hardly Bordeaux, which is a pity, but Provence and Languedoc). The sea bream is fried to the point, but the fish knife is replenished and the vegetable accompaniment, a half roasted tomato and potato puree are somewhat loveless clapped next to the fish. The restaurant is very loud. A conversation across the table almost impossible. That may seem a bit rustic, I find it exhausting.

Food is great, portion are not big but fish is very tasty
Service is fast but they don t speak much English.

Only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that there is no air con and the place is really warm especially during summer

Nice little Restaurant in St. Pierre, with good seafood. Unfortunately, we had to pay cash, as no cards could be accepted that evening. However, a really recommendable location. We had a sea bass, which was shown to us prior cooking, with excelllent side dish of mixed vegetables.

Very good for the fish.No for the cooking of the meat which is of very poor quality. The prices remain high. (25 ) for bad eating. I would not go back.I go right next to the table of parliament. The cuisine is refined, sought after, worked. It is a delight.

Ended up not eating there, left waiting for ages( without any acknowledgement) then, finally given an indication to which table to go to. After menu was produced we had already bad feelings about the service ( had been recommended by someone from Bordeaux!!!). To be fair they were quite busy, but no excuse for being ignored/ abruptness.

We went on Thursday evening. The waiter was just right and the food was delicious. We had fish soup and grilled sardines, sea bass fillet, and coffee with mini dessert selection and a lovely dry rose wine. It got really busy and there was a real lively buzz. A great experience.

I'm so sad that others didn't have the same experience as us. We arrived at 1530 on a Sunday afternoon. All the tables were taken but service remained good but I'm sure it can be busier than we experienced. We ordered off the market menu and had John Dory. Perfectly cooked and delicious, accompanied by Chateau Tour Leognan 2013 white wine. For dessert (the best bit)... the best creme brulee I have ever had along with a 2011 sauterne from Clos Haute Peyraguey. Great service throughout. The restaurant is lovely with open French windows onto the street. Highly recommend. Perhaps come at a different if you want a better experience to that has been reported at busier times. Not to be missed in Bordeaux.

The fish is fresh, there is a lot of choice, attractive card. This address is recommended to all lovers of fish / seafood. Ambiance bistro quite noisy and a little speed but it has its charm :-)

The restaurant is really well placed with a very pleasant terrace in a beautiful little lively street. On the other hand, the interior has no interest, it needs to be refreshed.
As for the plate, I liked the very good seafood platter, noting that many customers chose it despite a very impressive auction menu. The prawns, oysters and shellfish were fresh and / or very well prepared. The half crab and the langoustines were disappointing, however: the flesh was a little dry and bathed in the cooking water: cook's techniques to review! Mayo level, there is much better to offer and unfortunately no aioli. Very warm and friendly service. At the end of the meal we see that the price / quality ratio is very unfavorable because the cook is not the best. For the same price (admittedly with 2 glasses), I will go to Etchebest next time.

Home cold and no respect, we have been designated the table with the lips ... dishes very little garnished and bland kitchen. The service was rude and mostly unselfish. Only oysters were good, but we can not say that it depends entirely on them ... not recommended.

A great time with attentive service.

A great time with attentive service.
Pretty room 18 more to my taste
that of 22 of the same street, less cozy.
A shell fried 22 which does not feed her man happily complemented by grilled whole fish, accompanied by seasonal vegetables (broccoli, carrots, mushrooms) and dune mashed potatoes oil.
Small flat on the wine: 2011 on the map, announced in 2012 by the server was transformed in 2013 ...
Dessert was ok for the price but not exceptional.

A shame !!

A shame !!
I have not been a client of this restaurant, so I will not judge the food. On the other hand, I witnessed a scene that more than outraged me. The cook arrived with a live langoustine and proudly showed it to all his customers, going from table to table, the poor animal in his hands, allowing photos to be taken or even displayed in the street. The scene lasted about ten minutes. The cook went back to his restaurant, only to return a few moments later, repeating the same pattern. This behavior is simply inhumane and should be punished. They are animals like any other that we must respect. The cook seemed to be enjoying the situation. I only regret not having been able to take pictures to confirm my statements. Just for that I will not come to this restaurant and I advise all animal lovers to do the same.

Good meal (but not very generous: no accompaniment with the tartare) accompanied by a good glass of wine, very pleasant server. Unfortunately an obviously tipsy man at the next table kept calling the waiters over, in front of the customers: not pleasant to eat, and frankly unhealthy for the staff. it seems that it was the boss, I bitterly regret having participated in its enrichment!
