Some people will try to tell you this place is where young teenagers are indoctrinated. Or that the staff here are a bunch of egotistical bullies. But that is not true no one forces anyone to stay there. If you wish to leave then leave the staff there can be a little pushy sometimes but they just want to prepare you for the next two years of service. The food could be better but the whole experience will change you for the better if you focus less on yourself and more on Christ.

This is an amazing facility. I loved training here while I prepared for my mission. The experiences that I had here carried me throughout the two years I was serving my hermanos y hermanas in Mexico.
I ve been a member of this church since I was 8 years old. I ve never regretted my decision. No matter where I travel in the world I know I m at home when I attend a chapel of the Latter-Day Saints. Cultures and customes may very but the gospel is preached with the same doctrine within the walls of these buildings. I attend a congregation like this one in order to worship God and learn more of him. I partake of the Sacrament which reminds me of All that Christ has done for me. I am grateful to learn more about our Heavenly Parent s plan of salvation. Some of the most unique blessings that I receive for living the gospel is peace of mind and conscience, feeling my Savior s love, faith to move forward in this difficult world, strength to overcome my challenges, friends to rejoice with me or mourn with me, and an eternal perspective that guides my actions every day.
I ve been amazed every time I attend an Elder s quorum meeting, I m amazed by the caliber of men that I m surrounded by. Men that study the scriptures and care for their wives and families. When my wife attends the Relief Society she feels like she s part of the worlds largest organization of women.
We know we are learning correct principles here. We feel that through the Holy Ghost. If you ever need further strength or assurance you can always turn to the scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon. I know that book to be true, it teaches of Christ and his role with us on earth. It teaches about the Resurrection and how we can be forgive of our sins and gain peace and happiness on earth.
An amazing place full of great people and opportunities. The feeling of unity and having one purpose is so great here, and the way it changes youth to young men and young women. The work we do here is incredible, and helps people all over the world.
They follow you to the bathroom. They force you to give them your phone so they can read your emails. If you question anything you're automatically deemed "unworthy" to be there. I came to the MTC full of faith; I went home 2 1/2 weeks later lost and confused.
Loved my experience in the MTC, spent 6 weeks there and I learned tons and had so much fun with the other Elders there. It's not easy but prepares you for going out to the field.
I had the chance to go to the open house this week. We toured the main building, one of the older dorms (still not old enough to be the one I was in 20 years ago!) And the newest buildings. Wow! This place is way nicer than it was back in my day! The cafeteria didn't smell of stale food and had plenty of Captain Crunch so missionaries in training will not starve! ;) My children said they want to serve missions and go to this training center.
My life really started to change here. I lived here for 6 weeks learning Spanish and preparing to serve as a missionary for the LDS church in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission.
I loved working here, I got to see missionaries improve and change I learned a ton about teaching and how to teach. I made lifelong friends and the best part is I met my spouse here!
This place is so amazing at getting you focused on your purpose as a missionary. They feed you well the living quarters are nice and all the people are loving and caring.
