No one wants to prepare a will. In my case, though, allowing the state of North Carolina to handle it wasn't a good option. Left undirected, my modest estate would have automatically gone to family members that either didn't need the money or who could be injured by a windfall inheritance (e.g., lose Medicaid and Social Security benefits). My impression is that the Doug Koenig law firm is a small, compassionate law firm bent on helping lower and middle-class clients at a reasonable cost. High powered clients with unlimited funds, major beneficiary problems, and wanting to dodge all tax loopholes might find equivalent services elsewhere. However, for people like me just hoping to do a decent will at a reasonable cost, I would highly recommend the Doug Koenig law firm.
