Really good place. Excellent vibe
We pizza and it was so good

Great service, we absolutely adored Landon, our super sweet server. We got the cauliflower + curds which were good ... however they were very light on the curds. And we got a cauliflower crust pizza that was TDF. Great atmosphere, bravo! So excited to have this gem in our hood!

The chicken pasta is awesome! Great atmosphere with out exorbitant prices! Long list of beer on tap! Recommend.

Took my family there for lunch on a recommendation. They have a trendy, but limited menu. Everyone s meat was overcooked. Asked the 16, 12 and 10 year olds if they d like to come back and they all said no. If you don t mind paying for a new scene you may like it, but it s overpriced for what you get on your plate.

Absolutely amazing!!! The food and the atmosphere was spot on and can't say anything about the service it was exceptional. Will be looking forward to a return trip and definitely would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Great food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. Nice to see how they took an old place and made it modern with vintage flare. We were visiting from out of town and the entire staff was nice and welcoming

Tried to go today but there was a 45 minute wait. When we asked if they could text us when the table is ready they said they couldn t. Then when we said we would be back in 45 they said they would not hold a table if one was ready before the time was up. A very poor system.

I'm gonna have to give it another try, because a lot of people said good things about this place, but the time that I went the service was slow and average and after we waited so long for our food when it came the fries were cold and the burger looked all greasy and sloppy, maybe it was one of those days that their best people weren't working, that's why I'm gonna give them another try

Classless, disrespectful, no-nuts leadership. Your restaurant is run by fear-filled degrading teenagers. Replace your staff. They re horrible.

Truly solid food and drinks - the menu is creative, the food is top-quality and service is great. Try the burger, it's fantastic!

Nicely renovated, but not much to absorb the sound. Service was very good, food was good, a bit on the pricey side.

Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating, which is a big plus! Not that many places in town which have that...Good beer selection too with lots of draught options, and the pizza is excellent

First time having pizza here I was impressed. Our service was excellent and the ingredients are fresh! Right down to the parmesan cheese in the shakes chilled and fluffy. The sauce was good but not over powering, and the crust was tasty with a crunch but not burnt! Great flavor overall and I will be going back! The atmosphere here is modern and uplifting while preserving the historic value of the buildings past! Well done thank you for a great pizza experience!

Food was awesome, great beer selection and they had my favorite Bourbon, Journeymen.

First time here. Some of the best food I have had in awhile. The brunch chicken and biscuit was fantastic.

Genius food and drink combinations, wonderful fun atmosphere, love the laid back style of the outdoor seating and by FAR, THE BEST staff and management! You will not be disappointed coming here for date night or just lunch.

Great service, food was outstanding! For lunch, I chose the soup (broccoli and cheddar)and salad. Amazing atmosphere. We were seated right away, prompt food delivery.

Pizza crust was beautiful, beer pours were large. The restaurant was deafeningly loud, I was shouting across the table all night. The shishito peppers were beautifully cooked but then they hid them beneath bacon/cheese/oil etc.

The food was good; the prices were decent; and the waitstaff was awesome. However, the co-owner ignored me and my wife while speaking/greeting every other table in our vicinity (outside). We felt that he did it on purpose. We would love to go back but we have decided not to because of the co-owner.

Went for Bloody Mary's and brunch menu and was NOT disappointed. I got the chicken biscuit and he got the Prime Melt. OMG IT WAS FIRE. Also nabbed a 1/2 order of the nachos and wutttt that was flames too. Seriously hype about how awesome everything was, from the server being a total doll to the atmosphere to the food and drinks. Seriously 10/10 across the board.

We had the best experience dexter was amazing and a great server we will be back. The soup was salty but good will try again. The pizza has shrimp on it yes and it was delicious.

Waited 50 minutes for a pizza. Asked for half vegetarian, half with meat, and that was screwed up.

First visit.... service was great, thin crust pizza was delicious. Great atmosphere.

The food piles up in the window and just sits there, getting cold. The food is mediocre at best. Always seems like there is some new employee each time I go. Not to mention, a lot of the early 5 star reviews come from employees or personal friends of the business. This place is so disorganized but I guess as long as people are fooled by the hipster decor and huge selection of IPAs, this place will continue to churn out garbage.

A terrific restaurant. This is a great atmosphere with great food and service. Been here a few times and each time has been great. They have a great selection of drinks and the food is very good.

This is a great addition to the restaurant tapestry that has become downtown South Bend. The food is great, the staff is awesome and are always friendly. The only recommendation that I have is for the owners to invest in some sound bats. The place gets a little loud at times and it s hard to talk to others at the tables when it s busy. We ve noticed that this happens in a lot in new places. Great restaurant!

Cozy, clean and delicious. Food is good and unique. The number one"best factor" is the cocktails.

The food was fantastic! The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was tidy and neat. 10/10 would recommend.

Update: Food has gotten consistently better since opening. Updating review to 5 stars reflecting excellent food, atmosphere, and service.

Original (4 stars): The food needs some refining - pizza had bland crust and sauce and very little toppings; appetizer (spinach artichoke 4 cheese) was also under-seasoned and cold. Typical opening pains - slow service from kitchen but good wait staff. Drinks are good. We ll be back and hope things improve. The space is a nice addition to the neighborhood.

It's loud. Very loud. But interesting things on tap and a very creative menu. I'm actually looking forward to going back and trying something else, which I can't say about many places.

Went there for a Christmas season lunch with the wife. Was not disappointed with The Lauber. Nestled inside the repurposed Lauber Sheetmetal Factory, the place has a fun charm that adds to their atmosphere.

Started off with a few drinks. My Old Fashion was excellent. My wife tried The Dramamatrix stout, which was excellent as well.

We then moved to starters, she having the The Tin Can Nachos and selection the Dippty Dough Da. Frankly, we could have just split one, but it was Christmas. Both appetizers were excellent in both taste and presentation.

The Lauber s menu is not extensive but it surely is a crowd pleaser. My wife selected the Mac & Cheese Grilled Cheese with the smoked brisket. I went for the Lauber, their burger. The burger was two 1/4 lbs ground rib meat on a toasted brioche bun. It was beyond a good burger! The patties were flavorful & juicy with the right amount of condiments on it. BTW, their pickles on this burger are AMAZING.

We ended the meal with their Warm Butter Cake which was absolutely delicious.

I feel that I should mention the mention photos show an empty restaurant because of the pandemic and do not reflect at all the amazing food and service The Lauber has.

Really like the french dip sandwich. It is very loud and hard to carry on a conversation. Have had good and terrible service.

Really nice place. Decor is simple but nice. They had it all opened up so we could enjoy the lovely weather. The pizza we had was delicious and the staff were all super nice! I would definitely go again!

Start with the positive...pizza very good. After that I couldn t say as we were so hot we had to leave. Made reservations a week in advance and had to pay $25 to hold table (in South Bend?!). Arrived to be put at a table for 6 for our group of 9. It was in front of garage doors (neat idea) with no covering. Sun was so bright we literally wore sunglasses at dinner! We sat and sweat (as did the servers) and ate and asked for the bill. They wanted to give me the $25 hold fee in a gift card. We were so miserable our dinner should have been free! To end on a positive our waiter was great!
Please, cover that door, upgrade your air conditioning, and tell people about the gift card/holding fee or do away with it. It was an awful dining experience but we will give it another try and spend more as we usually do after they have a chance to iron out the problems or it is winter...whichever comes first!

Very modern and clean repurpose of an old space. A small, but variety filled menu, the food is fresh and delicious. There's a fantastic selection of craft beer as well as handmade cocktails, the Lauber Old Fashioned was delightful. There are two outdoor patios, one with table seating, and another more relaxed with picnic tables and plenty of outdoor games. After just one visit, I know this will become a regular spot for me.

Ordered blue cheese stuffed olives with martini. Jen said not available. Asked later for a side of blue cheese and it appeared.

First time there. Food was good but a little on the pricey side. Two of us that had 2 drinks each , shared an appetizer and a 10" pizza with tip $80.00. Got my beer request on the third try. They were out of most everything on a Saturday night. They need sound pads in the ceiling....very loud. Our waiter was great. Probably the only positive of the night.

The meatloaf special was phenomenal. The other menu items we tried were incentive and tasty. Our server, Charles, was absolutely outstanding.

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this restaurant. The place is really roomy with two patios, an inside dining area and an inside bar area. I chose the outdoor back patio because it was sunny. The back patio was filled with picnic tables and outdoor yard games. The other patio was a little more up scale and the tables were close together.

The food was fresh and fast! Beer list was nice and the specialty drinks looked good but I didn't indulge. Alcohol prices were a little high in my opinion but the pizza was just right value for the food.

Service was enjoyable too.

We have been here several times. Mostly because of the location and South Bend is lacking in non chain restaurants. Each time we've been...the service is so so and the kitchen seems to experience some hiccups. For example, we had lunch here yesterday. We were the only ones in the place for at least 15 minutes. We had a two year old with us so we of course wanted to order quickly. After everything was said and done we got all of our food 55 minutes after arriving. In a mostly empty restaurant. I like the location. I like the space. Good beer selection... although 7 dollars for a pint is a bit pricey imo. The food is not to die for but it's good.

Old sheet metal place turned bar/restaurant. I've seen places like this in other cities and have been wanting one here. Take the kids. They have giant connect 4, jenga, corn hole and ping pong. Didn't eat, but the food looked amazing. Wasn't crazy about the beer selection, though it was extensive, because I like NEIPA's. Anyway, check it out. Very well done.

Nicely decorated and good wait times. Food is good but I wouldn t give it 5 star quality. I really enjoyed the Nachos, but the Mac n cheese and tomato pie were good to okay

Great atmosphere and even better food and craft beer

We walked in had a little wait time. Went to get a drink at the bar and was told we couldn't sit at the bar because we were waiting on our table. Then he proceeded to tell us we had to go to the end of the bar in a small corner and get our drinks. Finally got our table waiter was nice. When my prime sandwich arrived it was cold. Suppose to come with fries the waiter went and got them they were ice cold. I did complain about the fries and was replaced. I was hungry just ate the cold sandwich. My group will not be back. Not worth the issues.
