I felt as if I was in Rome.

I felt as if I was in Rome.
This restaurant is unbelievably amazing. I ordered extra to take home the next day. I even went back for a second eating later on in the week. I will return frequently. This is THE perfect eating establishment.

When we first sat down, the server overheard us conversing about how restaurants often overcook fish. Without hesitation and with full confidence, the server exclaimed "we always prepare everything perfect". Yeah, sure. Guess what? it was no joke.

I could write for an hour how everything about Lattanzi is fantastic, but I don't write reviews. I just eat & enjoy. Just go and you will see.

These are very decent food in Midtown Manhattan. I might order Italian cuisine next time. The restaurant is classy and the ambience is hospitable. I d say breads are not 1st tier, but overall it was a decent experience.

Old School Italian place located just west of the heart of Broadway Theatre District. All of the dishes are amazing, you can't go wrong. The wine seems to just keep coming, especially when you're doing family style dining. The service staff and management are all professional, prompt and make great recommendations at every step of the dining experience. Highly recommend for both romantic dinner or a group event/dinner. Make your reservations well in advance especially for larger parties because this place is popular and gets booked quickly.

The food was good. The setting was nice. I'm giving 3 stars because a couple at the table beside us were publicly shamed. They had left an 18% tip. Before they could leave the waiter came over and loudly asked if there was something wrong with their food or service. With the whole restaurant now looking they embarrassingly said no. The waiter announced that their tip was only 18% and asked why. They apologised and paid 22%. The look of embarrassment on their faces!! To be publicly ousted was an outrage! Tipping is an indication of your perception of the level of service and quality of food... It should not be challenged unless you don't tip at all. The rates on the bill were 18%,20% & 22%

Food was tasty enough, with appetizers, entrees, and dessert, no one was complaining about being overstuffed at the conclusion. Service spotty, twice three of the four of us were served, while the fourth waited. Very nice wine list, innovate cuisine.

I wish I could say you get what you pay for but you pay tourist prices plus a premium for their awful service , OLD decor ( some reviewers called it charming, but if you don't maintain it, it's just stale). Food is very typical, so no complaints, except when I am paying 15 dollars for a HALF side of penne, it better be the best ever

As reviewers stated below, serves are overbearing but in an unwelcome way, if you are going to come over 5x to interrupt my conversation just to ask how everything is, at least get it right when we tell you that we need something

Clearly management doesn't care and unlikely they bother reading these reviews, so find one of 20 other Italian places within a few blocks unless you are nostalgic for an old place on the decline that should soon close

Regarding my recent reservation at Lattanzi, I was extremely displeased with the area that we were seated when I specifically requested to sit in the front section of the restaurant.
I'm a long time customer of Lattanzi and it's my Niece's favorite restaurant and I don't understand why Lattanzi cannot accommodate a simple request especially when we entered at 5:10PM and the place was vitrually empty and, of course, I did not receive an intelligent answer as to why we were seated in their Garden room area that smelled musty and was damp and chilly.
When I walked thru the front area no one there looked any better than my Niece and I and actually they looked like nobodies right off the sidewalk.
They do this all the time? Are you prejudice against Italians and are you looking for a certain type of person(s) to sit in your front area or is it that we were not accompanied by a male?
I just got off a month long cold/cough and I hope the musty smelling Garden room doesn't bring back my cold.

Lattanzi has an old world Italy feel, while keeping up with the flavors of the 21st century. It has a seemingly endless menu, with indulging desserts that will make you want to come back. A great choice for couples, and families of all ages. This is my pick for a classic Italian restaurant in midtown.

Love this place!! Not my first time coming, but every time I have come, I ve arrived early! Lattanzi always accommodates me and seats my entire party right away! My boyfriend took me for my birthday tonight and not only was the serve amazing, but our food was out so quick AND it was delicious! Definitely a great place for after a show or for a special occasion! Pictured items include the artichoke appetizer (to die for and filling for a few!!), the salmon, and the veal scaloppine. Excellent meal! Perfecto!

Texans in New York celebrating Mom's Birthday!!
Absolutely fabulous dinner!! The food was delicious. The restaurant is very warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcomed us as if we were regulars at home. The look at Mom's face just before our server gives her a birthday hug says it all. Thank you for the memories!!

Clean facility, great dining experience for families or date night!

We have experienced nothing but a warm welcome all over the city until this dinner. The food is incredible, but the service was absolutely horrible. I even told the server at the end that we felt so unwelcome and he just stared at me. I have never ever in my life left a restaurant without leaving a tip, but I did here. It put a damper on our night to feel so unwelcome and ignored.

They OVERCHARGED MY CARD! UNETHICAL FOR ANY BUSINESS!!!! I went to eat last week with a friend. We got the food. The pasta was hard. Taste was like any normal pasta. Prices were overpriced compared to the quality you get in return. The bill including tip was fine in person. However, when I received my credit card statement the bill was higher. The money isn t the biggest problem. The biggest problem is the unethical behavior of such a business. I wonder how many other times this happened happened. Not going back!!!

Food was OK. Bartender on 11/27 seemed annoyed he had to take breaks from his cellphone to take my order. Sat with empty wine glass and clean plate for ten minutes before he asked if I needed anything because he was on his personal phone constantly. For the price, should have better service.

I made this dinner reservation couple of weeks in ...

I made this dinner reservation couple of weeks in advance to celebrate dear friend s 55th birthday. I specifically noted in my reservation that it was for a special occasion and that we would prefer to be seated in the back atrium room. When we arrived at 5pm on December 15th, I was told there were no tables available in the atrium and had to be seated upstairs. Our waiter was not particularly refined nor was he attentive as one would expect from a fine dining establishment. As we were approaching the end of our dinner meal, I reminded our waiter that we are celebrating my friend s birthday and if he could kindly do something special for this occasion. The waiter promised that a mariachi group will come with a special dessert to wish my friend Happy Birthday. I was little surprised that the waiter promised mariachi since Lattanzi is an Italian restaurant but any type of special attention to surprise my friend would have been of course appreciated so I did not object. We ordered our dessert after dinner, dessert came, we finished the dessert and then I got the check without any special celebration to surprise my friend! Not even a Happy Birthday wish from the waiter or piece of crumb with candle! Even the most casual chain restaurants like Chili s manage to get such a routine request right without exception! When I complained to the floor manager/ head waiter as we were leaving he just said sorry without showing any genuine concern or sympathy. I was extremely disappointed and also embarrassed for my guests by such lack of service. To top it all off, my wife ordered a salmon dish for her main entree that got her violently sick! She ended up running to the bathroom with diarrhea for rest of the night completely ruining our after dinner plans! Clearly the salmon was not fresh, not stored/refrigerated properly and it was contaminated with bacteria. We were at Lettanzi once before about a year ago with another couple and our experience was much better that time. This is why we decided to go back. I seriously doubt we will ever be back again. The entire experience last Saturday was simply atrocious at every level and well below any reasonable standard.

AVOID THIS PLACE.

AVOID THIS PLACE.

I was in the area for a conference. A large group (about 9) of us arrived at about 7 PM on a Sunday night. The restaurant was almost completely empty. Our server did not reach our table until about 7:30 PM. In taking our drink order, our server was quite rude. He seemed frustrated that we needed an extra 2 minutes to discuss our order given their poor choices... all they had was wine (the cheapest being $60 per bottle) and Peroni beer. He returned after 15 minutes and only received the drink orders of about half of the group (he ignored the other half and walked away).

The food was low quality, expensive, and in exceedingly small portions. I ordered the ravioli. I received six 1.5-inch raviolis that were crunchy on the edges (overcooked). The price for that meal (including one Peroni) was $40.

The coup de gras was the end. At about 8:15 PM, our server refused to give us multiple checks. He insisted that we evenly split a check that was about $500. We begrudgingly agreed to manually calculate our own totals and give him multiple credit cards to use. He returned about 1 hour later with our receipts. Appreciate that the bill included a $100 gratuity. To me, it seems reasonable that he could calculate our share of the bills for $100.

I went here recently and did not have a pleasant experience. The food is pretty good, high priced and the ambiance is ok. My service wasn't the best. The main problem I had was after I had paid the bill, I left a 12% tip due to bad service, which I thought was more than enough. The manager then opens up my check, pulls out a pen and circles the suggested tip of 18% and 20%. He rudely tells me that this is the expected tip and hands me back the bill. Unbeliavanl, bad service and then this. I almost wanted to leave no tip and just leave but I kept my tip and the manager gave me a rude look and I left. It is safe to say I will never be returning here again and I suggest that others do not go as well.

It is not 5 stars because going to an Italian restaurant you expect to find at least one Italian, but as for the food we had a decent dinner !!! A little expensive but like all American restaurants where you want to dine in peace and above all eat HEALTHY FOOD instead of the classic hamburger. Recommended!!!

Restaurant was delish. Had the fresh mozzarella with roasted peppers and it was melt in your mouth good. We family style shared 4 entrees incling crab stuffed halibut, home made stuffed pasta, gnocchi, and shrimp scampi.
The halibut was perfectly cooked and the crab was very fresh. The gnocchi was and very good with grear flavor in a simple marinara. The shrimp in the scampi was huge and tasted grest. The star player was the ricotta stuffed pasta.
The filing was creamy and the pasta was so very good. I ate most if that dish and just a bite of the others!! I didn't share well!
Staff very attentive and will go again.

I brought my husband, son and daughter to Lattanzi...

I brought my husband, son and daughter to Lattanzi to enjoy a nice meal while vacationing in NYC. Never did I think we would be treated so poorly while there. Upon placing our order, my husband recommended that the ladies place their order first. As I started to place my order I was abruptly interrupted by the waiter as he said "not you, her first" (he was referring to my daughter). I was stunned. Our order arrived, at which time my husband asked for another drink as well as more bread to eat with our meal. No drink arrived, nor did the bread. We noticed there were 3 employees hovering around our table as we were getting ready to complete our meal. My husband was not finished with his meal but set his fork down so that he could use his dinner napkin. His plate was quickly removed from the table, along with all others. He still had food on his plate! We all sat stunned. I travel to NYC often and will NEVER frequent this eating establishment again. Nor will I recommend it to anyone. What a horrible experience.
