Caring staff, who certainly know their as specialities. Our dog is being wonderfully cared for. Given the best treatment and advice. All staff are lovely, right from receptionists to the surgeons. The vets building is kept clean throughout. Would highly recommend.

Looked after my bengal amazingly - ran all the tests to find out what was wrong with him. Knew about a condition that my local vets did not.-Bengal Polyneuropathy. Took time to explain everything to us. And the waiting rooms were very cosy.
I would give Langford 100 stars if I could! After our dog was wrongly diagnosed at two other veterinary practices, leaving him suffering for months, we eventually came here and finally got the answer we had been searching for. The vet we saw took the time to explain everything in more detail than any other, and came straight to the correct conclusion as to his diagnosis. The surgery was a complicated one and the vet did extra research and thought carefully about the merits of each form of surgical intervention, keeping us in the picture the whole time.
We have just picked up our dog, who has made an excellent recovery. Yet this time last week, another vet had been urging us to prepare ourselves for the humane option of euthanasia!
This is a teaching hospital - it doesn't come across as sleek and modern with bells on like some others do, and this may put some off but as soon as I walked through the door I got the impression the emphasis here was on clinical excellence and not money-spinning as some others seem to be - my opinion only, to avoid crossing the line into the defamatory.
The prices here are cheaper as well. If your dog (or other animal for that matter) needs to be referred, I couldn't urge you strongly enough to go for this place even if your vet (as ours did), implies that other referral centres have the edge. This one does! Thank you to Langford's and all the staff who worked to save our dog's life - I cannot express our gratitude enough!
Brandy our cavelier king was diagnosed with a tumour in his bladder, his surgical procedure was refered to langford by our amazing vets at clarendon rd surgery. everyone involed have been so compassionate, everthing was explained to us from pre op to post op and there on after care the vets/surgeons, care staff and receptionists at this hospital are truly amazing and i can't thank them enough.
I can't express enough how good everyone at Langford Hospital has been to Alfi and myself, it's an amazing place and we are very lucky to have a place like this to take our precious family members too, thank you all so very much the work you do is great.
Just spoke to Catherine in reception to make a overdue follow up spot. She was very professional, had a great speaking manner and couldn t help enough with all my overdue tasks since Covid lockdown delayed everything.
Really pleased with with the vet services from six months ago. Rosie treated my dog as a referral emergency when his heart beat spontaneously slowed down. He had to have an emergency pacemaker fitted. She not only dealt with all the pre operative checks and tests but bless her she dealt with me sobbing the whole time.
The vets and the nurses looked after Ryan amazingly after the surgery. They called and updated me everyday. They even called me to check if they could make some chicken for him as he wasn t eating his own food.
When the bill came and we couldn t afford the surgery (not covered by insurance) they kindly gave us the option to pay back in instalments.
We owe these guys a lot for all they did to save Ryan. They did everything with kindness, compassion and the upmost care.
Very friendly staff who genuinely seem to care about animal welfare, my dog is very anxious and scared( he's a rescue ) but they were so patient and caring towards him. Treatment isn't cheap but if costs are your concern then maybe you shouldn't have pets or make sure they are insured.
Fantastic place to help your pet although it is quite expensive. But if you love your pet then it is worth every penny. All the staff are kind and caring.
A fantastic place, and very professional. Not cheap at all, but the service we received was second to none. Replaced our dogs hip, which involved having her in for 3 days. Called 3 - 4 times every day to update us, put us straight through to a vet when we called with concerns about her afterwards, and very helpful when it comes to payment schemes etc afterwards. Wouldn't want to need them again, bit if you find yourself there, you are in safe hands!
mixed - staff some compassionate, others not so much. It was busy on reception when we were collecting our boys ashes and when we requested them the guy there handed them over like it was just an empty box. We were informed our boy had a heart attack in the night and passed away though there are no notes to this affect, in fact no notes at all other than - died this morning. Prior to that note it mentions the medicine he was given. Its been a few years now but it's never sat right with me.
Such friendly and amazing staff, our dog was on for almost a week and they did everything they could to get him better and he is finally on the way up and getting back to his old self
My dog is currently staying at Langford for recovery & physio following herniated discs. The care and attention they have put into his case has been, frankly, incredible. We visit our dog every day and he is obviously very happy there. We can't thank the staff enough for everything they have done for us and him.
If it wasn't for Langford vets in particular the surgeon mikey travers I wouldn't have my beautiful girl now. I will forever be grateful. All the staff are so understanding of how impossibly difficult it is to leave your precious dog in their care
Absolutely fantastic, professional and very welcoming. Clean and bright facilities. Very understanding and accommodating. They went out of their way for Blue (my dog) who has issues. Explained everything they were doing in detail so I understood exactly what was happening throughout all procedures. Excellent communication.
Inevitably is distressing to have your pet referred here but the staff are very caring of humans and animals. The whole set up is geared to make it as pleasant as possible, eg litter trays in the dedicated cat waiting room, and every consulting room.
The vets' "bedside" manner is exemplary and engenders trust from humans and animals.
After our dog was hit by a car she was referred here for specialist treatment due to fractured shoulder. Could not fault her treatment. We were very pleased with it
really dippy woman on the phone. Does not know what she is talking about and not customer focused. If the reception is this bad dont want to even try the vets
Hi my boxer is having treatment here at the moment.veronica who is treating him has been amazing ringing us every day with news and updates.cant fault in anyway.just waiting to bring him home.he has had tumour removed from spine.
Couldn't thank Alex Belch enough for looking after our labrador Cooper who unfortunately needed 2 total hip replacements! He's on the mend after his second operation 10 days ago!!
It was ok, but they didn't do any tests because my cat wouldn't let them touch him and they needed to know if I was covered enough by insurance before going ahead. As an interim measure they have given me an email address to send some videos of Jet walking to get an idea of his problem. The vet I saw was very friendly and helpful. Jet has got to continue with pain medication until the problem is resolved.
Brilliant attentive treatment ..Very caring staff .Keep you updated on the treatment and how your animal is and responding..Would definately reccomend ..Very grateful to Ann and all the staff for looking after my amazing dog Mac ...
Poor service...under staffed....all this place cares about is profit and taking your money. I would happily pay whatever it cost if it meant my dog was well looked after but unfortunately she wasn't. Never will I take any of my animals here again
The help and advice received there was excellent, and I was very impressed with the care and affection shown to jax our collie, and every attempt to make him comfortable, with no unnecessary stress.
Excellent service, following a serious eye injury to our puppy we were fitted in that day. On arrival staff extremely helpful and friendly. Opthalmic Vet came out to us and took puppy in, following an in depth assessment she came out to explain fully what was happening. Even went to the trouble of bringing out an enlarged diagram of the eye and explained fully the nature of the injury. Put us totally at ease with her professional yet kind manner. Can't ask for him to be in better hands.
Gave Excellent Care and attention to our adorable baby Annie who was admitted into ICU for 9 days. Didn't expect her to come through it but she has and will be so ever great full to all the staff who looked after her.
Animal care is good. Prices are extortionate and seem to have increased almost double in 2 years. It s a busy place and communication can be hard when you are out of the area and only have phone contact.
I didn't get an good overall impression. I wondered if my cat was being used for research rather than to be put well. The cat clinic is only accessible by a flight of stairs. The music being played via PA system was mournful and didn't help at all.
Referred here for my dog after repeated ops on his foot. Went to the small animal referral dept. They clearly know their stuff. It is a teaching hospital so many vets will go on to specialise in certain things. Very welcoming.
Harley street for pets take out pet insurance well worth it.Diagnosed my little dogs illness, sad to say it was incurable TNS in a border collie passed away in Sept 2018 .Skye
Best place for any seriously ill animal. Quick and very friendly staff they loved our dog max and treated him well I think he didn't want to leave. . We took our dog during the lock down 2020. They followed all social distancing measures but that dint affect the treatment. Thank you all for your help and max seems to be doing a lot better but time will tell
Due to sad times I discovered this SAH, but no pet owner should doubt their pets will be loved and taken care of here. They offer a better service on welfare of animals. Due to on site facilities
Profit profit profit. That's all this place cares about.
i complained and mention there was no communication to state about being charged for a 10 month call. The finance assistant said, very sorry Its a new service and we are having to make sure we explain the pricing properly which wasn't in this case for you. fair enough they waved the charge after complaining. They called me!!!
ok so how much is a box of (60 tablets )
I sent them screen shots for the medication from australia and america where it's made $5.60 per box!
day light robbery and overall terrible service. all the money we have paid and xrays and blood tests they come up with 1 medication. there are steroid tablets, 15 different cough medications. the amount of different alternatives. terrible!
I have moved him over to small animal hospital in odd down and done so much research myself on home remedies and other medications. For the money we have spent and the persistent requests of wanting money and coming up with 1 tablet is such a terrible service. I've shared the emails and screen shots of Bill's on social media and fb and left reviews and will be taking this further to consumer rights to see if they can actually do this.
Our dog was referred because she suddenly had a serious spinal problem and could not use her back legs at all. We were told by Langford that she would have an MRI and then a spinal operation that evening after we got her there at 7pm from Plymouth. When we got there she still had deep pain sensation, but they did not operate until the following day at 11am, stating it was because she was dehydrated. By the time they got around to operating she no longer had deep pain sensation in her rear toes and the operation never worked, leaving her with no use of her back legs or toileting for the following 4 yrs and 3 months, until she died. We gave her a fantastic busy and love filled life in her wheels, but I would never go back there again unless i had absolutely no other choice...
Our dog was taken there for MRI scan was discharged with air in her lungs , when we phoned the hospital and gave details of the condition the dog was in , they suggested that it was probably due to discomfort after the procedures that had taken place.we had to rush the dog back ,then just as she was about to be discharged again ,she had acquired an embolism.we we're given the impression that they are the best in the country ,our experience doesn't suggest this.
Very friendly staff and all veterinary surgeons are so good at spending time with you to explain your pets condition and a positive path forward on the medication required (if needed) , what observations to look for. My first impressions of the staff, facilities are good
All the vets and student vets genuinely care about the animals and do their best for them. The receptionists are also friendly and make a fuss of and say hello to my dog when we arrive.
My 1 year old Lab died during a Laparoscopic operation to neuter her. Her treatment was dire, the vet carrying it out phoned me in panic to tell me she had ceased breathing. It was 10 days before I had any semblance of a discussion with the vet. This took place on 20 November, and I have still not really had an explanation for this.
Can't fault them for professionalism. Caring and compassionate staff. Very busy place so you sometimes feel a bit lost within the system. But they give everyone the same first class service. If you haven't got insurance then make sure you have deep pockets, such service doesn't come cheap.
Caring, knowledgable and efficient. They kept me informed and took a real interest in my dog. I felt like they know about being a pet owner rather than just being a pet fixer. Good interaction and good treatment.
