I was visiting my grandparent's from out of state and have to say I was beyond happy with what I saw. The care and love they are getting is awesome and the place is beautiful. My daughter and I walked around the pond and one of the nurses had a lady out he takes care of and they were feeding the ducks, it was so neat to see a place that does that extra step for the people they take care of. They are Very good to the people who live here. My grandparents Live here now and it's nice.
They charge the residents extra for a tray to be brought to there room. If your sick you ll be paying extra. The food they claim is home made comes in from a truck premade frozen. The cakes and fruits is never fresh, it is always frozen or from a can. If you request to have fresh fruit they will charge you an arm and a leg, your better off buying it from a store yourself for your loved one.
Beautiful country living, nestled between two farms near Lancaster airport. they are doing some great renovations that will improve the living for their residents. What used to be a pretty old looking facility is quickly becoming a modern place to live while still retaining the small feel.
I worked and volunteered here for nearly 7 years, and absolutely loved it. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. You can tell the employees are passionate about their jobs and the people they care for. Many new renovations are happening, so it'll be exciting to see how this place transforms this upcoming year!
My mother was a resident of Landis Homes for approximately 6+ years before her passing in Feb '12. She was initially a resident in their Assisted Living, Alzheimer's unit. Later she was moved to the Skilled Care, Alzheimer's unit. During her entire 6 year residency, she received the most loving, kind, competent care that either my sister or I could have ever dreamed possible for our mother. The staff truly embraces and exhibits a Christ like servant heart in caring for each and every resident.
The facility itself is kept immaculately clean; no disgusting nursing home odors; and the hallways and rooms are delightfully decorated and appealing to the eye. The grounds are well maintained and have a wonderful pond for sitting and watching ducks.
My grandparents live there and seem to be very happy. I loved being able to rollerblade on the paths while I visited them. I also loved the pond with the swans and the peacocks.
