I was married at the Lambertville Station Inn on 10/9/16. The text bellow is an email I wrote to Marielle the event coordinator three days following the wedding after not hearing from her. While the summary below provides specific information regarding the day, the fact that Marielle never responded to my email speaks volumes and pretty much sums up my experience (or lack there of) with her.
Hi Marielle,
I wanted to provide some feedback, since I have not heard from you, from the wedding before I post reviews on various wedding websites. Since it is a lot to summarize, I felt a bullet list would suffice.
Pros
- The bartenders were absolutely wonderful, they were kind fun and attentive to all. They made my night.
-The food was great, as was the dinner service/timing.
Cons
- The night before during the rehearsal Neil kept referring to Craig and I as Mary and Greg, while it is somewhat humorous it is a bit embarrassing when the person responsible for orchestrating your wedding cannot get your name right. It also makes the venue look unorganized and not coordinated.
- I have to say that staying in the hotel the night before next to the reception was quite honestly horrible - it felt like we were sitting next to the DJ. That being said, thank goodness we did as we were not allowed to check into the bridal suite until 2pm at which time I was already supposed to be dressed. I was happy to have my mom and bridesmaids around to keep checking as no one ever checked in with me or gave me any updates. It is really disappointing that we were not able to use the bridal suite at all to get ready or spend any time there since that was one of the aspects of the day that I was most looking forward to. Not once did anyone apologize for the delay or see how everything was going.
-The most disappointing and extremely embarrassing thing was when my future mother in-law and entire family arrived at their table to find that they were three chairs short. How this could happen after table numbers, meal counts and numerous plans were provided regarding this is baffling to me. They then were jammed at a table that clearly was not 72" for the rest of the night. On my part I am extremely embarrassed as my mother-in law was very upset about the whole situation.
-The next day not one person checked in with Craig or I regarding the night, that is absolutely shocking to me, I actually checked ourselves out and did not hear from anyone, not sure if that is normal but it seems like there is an underlying hospitality issue.
-As guests were arriving for the ceremony, all of our wedding items were wheeled through the setting. The trio was set up and had to keep moving, guests were asked to move over and over again. This delay in preparing the reception area upstairs caused a scene. My parents were anxious and our guests noticed right away.
I would appreciate if you provide this feedback to the GM as well.
Went for drinks, our second time there. Sat in the basement. Lots of selection for drinks, hummus is delicious.
We were there for a seminar. The food was very good. The catering was done well. The facility is nice and clean. We appreciated the plentiful parking, which is unusual in Lambertville.
You can get drinks down in a nook by a big fireplace or you can eat by the large windows or even next to an old train car. It is a beautiful place and a nice place to rest after a day of shopping and walking around.
This place can be hit or miss. It's a fantastic location (on the river) and has some cool places for meetings or to have a drink. Unfortunately, the food is hit or miss, and so is the service. It does have a huge lot with plenty of parking, which in Lambertville, is a big plus.
Clean, comfortable, and sufficient. Very light but good continental breakfast delivered to room.
Great menu with well prepared fresh local foods. Excellent service!!
Really nice stay here , we got a suite and it was very nice and clean. Housekeeping was on spot as well as the people at the desk. Everyone was accommodating and very polite. We stayed for 3 nights, we decided to get room service for dinner and the food was really good. (I had the steak against my better judgment ) and to my surprise it was absolutely delicious ! Thanks for the great stay we will be back !!
The location of the restaurant and in ate beautiful. I was unimpressed by my food however. I have celiac, and am gluten free. So I order the shrimp and scallops from their gluten free menu 1) I don't understand why risotto wasn't gluten free 2) the meal would have held together and satisfied me more if the potatoes were roasted and not mashed (I miss read the menu) 3) the scoup of mashed potatoes was minute compare to the sides of everyone else's 4) the gravy was tasty, but wasn't covering the protein enough 6) no texture differential to the dish. If I ever return, I'll have to consult the chef and get a different item entirely. Left still hungry.
Was absolutely so disappointed with our pass experience dining here on 12/5/15 at aprox. 9pm, we were a party of four and two of our steak dinners were served as cold as our lettuce. The two burgers were ordered medium well and were suppose to be served with cheese.... But both burgers came out with nothing on it but a bun and cut into children squares and on top of that they were served absolute raw and bleeding.... The one burger I totally refused and decided to not re order and call a quits after two attempts. The waitress didn't know what to do so I had to get up to find a manager who ended up being useless and cowered from any and all issues we were having. We received our checks and were comp our burgers? The burger I did not eat... Completely fed up we paid and on our way out we confronted the one bar tender we had purchased drinks from during our wait. We asked about managers and who to make a proper complaint to, he asked what happened and when he heard we had order a burger on the dining floor he made a absurd facial reaction and judged our purchase, I had to put him in his place and state that we ended up purchasing multiple non comped drinks and appetizers and two cold steak dinners. First time to write a review on any dining experience ever. Classless and pathetic excuse of a restaurant. Table number was 72.
Nice location. It costs $20 to park in the lot, but you get a voucher that your server can reimburse you for. Food is good and reasonably priced; service is usually good. There is often a line for the bathrooms.
Great place for lunch, for a pre-dinner drink, dinner or any other romantic get together. Free parking in their lot, pay $20 and it will be refunded by your server. Lively place, particulary on Labor Day weekend.
Wonderful food. Great service and atmosphere. Love the chicken walnut salad.
Good food and service. Oysters we're very good, duck was excellent.
Good food but a little pricey at the main restaurant. The inn looks beautiful and the views are awesome but the venue pricing is way above other beautiful places in the area.
Beautiful views of surrounding area. Great lounge area overlooking the river. Very good food and service.
Service was fast and kind, food was amazing and the location is perfect
Oyster Bar downstairs so good we went two nights in a row. Very cozy atmosphere with walls of rock, sitting nooks and great tapas menu.
Great food and service, my family comes here often.
The food was good and the prize was reasonable. I recommend the quinoa burger and also the mushroom burger. (They are both vegetarians.) The cook was a chocolatier and for a special occasion, he gave us a box of three luxurious and free chocolates.
The hotel stay was wonderful. Friendly staff, clean and updated room. The complimentary breakfast and room delivery was a really nice touch. We would love to stay here again! Amazing location right by the canal path and the bridge to New Hope, as well as right in the center of the shopping and dining in Lambertville.
We had a great experience at the restaurant as well. We loved the coconut almond bread that they brought out for us, and I'm still thinking about how good the scallops/shrimp/lobster risotto was. That was such an exquisite meal! Our server was also very attentive and friendly.
The food and service was great. Very little wait time to be seated and entrees came out quickly.
Amazing view & delicious vegetarian food. Quino wrap was so well prepared. Little pricey but worth it.
What an awesome place to stay! It's a "must go to" kind of place!
It was fabulous. Sat outside w/our 2 dogs, had the most delicious lunch & Cynthia our server was outstanding. Had THE BEST day in Lamberville today.
Always a great stay at the station. Beautiful setting. Great rooms and so many great restaurants and bars nearby. The tow path along the Delaware River is great for a morning or after lunch stroll, or for a jog or bike ride!
Simply the Best Food best service an atmosphere four restaurant in the new hope-lambertville area I highly recommend the lobster crab bisque and the crab cakes are out of this world
Lovely place with a great view.
I'd visit again.
Good food, fair prices. Pleasant and attentive staff.
We had a great stay last weekend! We only stayed for one night but it was wonderful! The room was clean and the bed was super comfy! we had a great view and the hotel is in a perfect location. I was worried about the continental breakfast as several reviews complained, but we got plenty! The fact that they had a GF muffin for me was the icing on the cake! Mimosas (which cost extra) were delicious and plentiful. Bonus was the adorable and intimate wine and tapas bar downstairs from the restaurant. We will definitely be back!
The restaurant is popular with area visitors for buffet lunch. We decided to try it. The dining room has a pretty view of the river. However we decided not to stay for brunch after checking out the food tables.
Beautiful restaurant, food and service were fantastic
Great service! Drinks and the calamari was delicious. Husband ordered burger which was well cooked but the bun was pedestrian. I got the special wolf fish tacos. I didn t love the fish but that could be my personal taste. I think the toppings could have been more interesting than shredded iceberg lettuce. Overall positive experience.
Staff was so very friendly and attentive.
Food was delicious and perfect portions for the prices paid. Definitely a great choice for a place to eat in Lambertville.
The outdoor seating was very very accommodating. Beautiful scenery it ain't nice quiet setting.
Awesome food at a great price! Will definitely be back soon!
Exotic meat night is the best this dish was kangaroo.
I was there for a wedding. The hotel rooms are very clean, the dining hall was amazing and the affiliated restaurant is top notch
Had a few drinks on the outdoor porch. A nice place to come right a walk off the bridge in Lambertville.
Didn't even get to eat here. What's the point of a reservation if you tell people "we'll text you when a table is available". Left after 15 minutes for Aztlan Mexican Grill.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Great service. Perfect for a relaxing night out.
Wonderful food and service. Moderately pricey. I always dine on the track side, all windows, and can watch the daily parade go by. Steak huge and tasty. Huge pieces of Lobster in crab and lobster bisque.
Had thanksgiving there. Enjoyed my meal and everyone else had a great time. Service was lackluster, believe the waitress had multiple tables on different floors and ours was on the only one on the secknd floor. Food was great and so was the building. Will go back
Friendly and helpful staff, inn is well maintained. We esp like the San Francisco suite with a fireplace and a great view of the Delaware River.
If you ever pick out to the restaurant please ask the Carol she was absolutely personable and what a pleasure to have somebody like her serve you
We had lunch outside, near the bar. Great Location. Food was good and drinks were creative and tasty. A great place to hang out when the weather is good.
Loved loved loved the food, wine, cheese, great staff!
Good food. We sat on the patio next to the train. It smelled awful. Strong cat urine. They were so busy I knew we wouldn't get another table so we suffered through. Clean that stink up guys or take that table away.
Unique food selections, attention to detail on plating, great staff, awesome vibe. Worth every penny
Amazing! I went in for lunch and had an amazing meal! Great dessert as well
All I did was walk in to check the menu for the restaurant....did not like selection and prices so left.
Wonderful oysters and a great atmosphere. Pay for parking for the day, but get the same amount of your bill, it's a great deal.
Delicious dinner and drinks in an elegant but cozy restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful and we felt very well attended. the food was terrific, I had crab cakes for an entree and it was really well prepared veggies were still crisp and so tasty. Cant wait to go back!!
So cute places, Restourant is very interesting, if is old a train station. the rails are still there. Diner was delicious. They have famous dessert, ice cream with chocolate like ball.
GREAT shops, unique retail speciality shops and restaurants
The restaurant is lovely with great views of the town and canal. They charge you $20 to park but refund it if you go to the restaurant (many people park here to walk across the bridge to New Hope). The food was very good, but there were long delays in getting it to us. Also they were out of some of the specials when we got there.
We went there because we were thinking of having our wedding there. It was beautiful and the staff were very nice, but it was out of our price range. We ended up choosing somewhere else.
Though some interactions with the team at Lambertville Station Inn lead me to believe the staff is service-focused, the efforts of a few couldn't outweigh the negative experience of staying at this property. Starting with check-in we should have known there was going to be a lot left to be desired. The front desk attendant was untidy and very confusing- insisting we only had two rooms booked when my reservations clearly indicated three. My preference for quiet, third floor rooms was disregarded- our family ended up with one third floor room "on the left side" (quiet) and two second floor rooms "on the right side" (parking lot) separated by another room of guests. Incidentally, the room between us housed a small child which began crying at 4:30 AM on Sunday and didn't stop until after 5 AM. The shrill screams and whining insured that not one but two of the rooms we reserved were robbed of sleep.
When I visited the lobby for a cup of tea after being awoken by the banshee, it was offputting to see the coffee tables strewn with dirty glassware from the evening prior. There was no hot water for tea. The front desk attendant was peacefully enjoying the reprieve of his cell phone.
After the fifteen minute check-in process, we were rather disappointed when we opened the room to our door. Like the communal space in the lobby, the room was small. Exacerbating the smallness, the room was drab. Each room in the hotel is named after a travel destination and I can only assume it's because the hotel knows people would rather be in any other place. A phone call request later that evening for sundries from the front desk went unfulfilled.
Other major issues: one of our rooms wasn't serviced and the complimentary breakfast wasn't delivered to two of the rooms- despite filling-out and hand-delivering the orders to the front desk the night before.
Because the place wasn't a roach-infested flea bag motel and this review is more about refinement of standards of service and attention to detail, I would be remiss to aire these grievances without mentioning the two hotel team members, the primary young woman behind the front desk on Saturday morning and the young man working on Saturday evening, who I found to meet the level of service and care that property management should demand.
Generally, the experience was not what I have come to expect from AAA Four Diamond Award properties or from a suburb property that is commanding $245 a night per room. This stay was disappointing and I would caution others before considering a stay here. In the future, my family and I will stay at one of the other area hotels.
Edit: When I originally wrote this, I gave two stars, but that was before complimentary breakfast wasn't delivered.
Great Christmas party at the restaurant. Food was delicious and atmosphere was nice
Food okay with pleasant outside view. Service was ok. Cocktails just ok. Very busy.
We are forever grateful to the staff of the Lambertville Station for making our wedding happen despite the circumstances. It was beyond stressful trying to decide what to do as laws and guests were changing daily. Patricia not only guided the process, she never wavered on being positive and supportive. They offered us an awesome Plan B at the open air portion of the venue and thoughtful reassurance that all measures were taken to keep our guests happy, comfortable and safe. This was our second wedding with 5 kids and we couldn't have given them a better example of resilience, perseverance and the power of love and family. They made memories that will last a lifetime, and we were especially thankful that my mom was able to be there with us in a new dress looking fantastic (she was given 6 weeks to live a year and a half ago). We are well aware that life doesn't wait and we were so happy to have our family with us for this momentous day culminating at the end of a loooonnnngg road!
With that said! We arrived at the venue on Friday night and enjoyed dinner outside at the Lambertville Station Inn with live music and strolling the town. It was perfect! The next day was beautiful, guests arrived early to enjoy New Hope. We received so many compliments on it being the 'perfect' venue. The view was amazing, the property was beautiful, Neil and the staff were awesome and the food was delicious. They made everything effortless. We weren't local so we relied on their suggestion of vendors...when I tell you the compliments on cake and flowers were beyond glowing, that's the truth. We also used the c'est la vie bakery in town for our delicious almond macaron favors. They were amazing and people went back the next day to get more! The bridal suite was the icing on the cake. It was a comfortable open space with a spectacular view of the bridge, water and guests arriving! The girls all loved it during the day and it was so relaxing to return at the end of the night to reflect on the day by the fireplace.
It felt like the getaway we envisioned without the stress of traveling. We enjoyed our day trips to visit and plan throughout the year, with lunches and strolling the town. It was just a perfect experience all around and a great reminder that when there's a will there's a way! We couldn't be more grateful for our amazing team that got us through it!
Amazing food as always. Had to wait past reservation but was treated very well once we got to our table.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is fantastic and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My family and I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. I would encourage you to make a reservation otherwise the wait time can be long. They have an excellent pork tenderloin and always have locally sourced food. Great place to people watch as well. I also highly recommend their Sunday brunches. Great assortment of food.
