FIRST My son went over 3 months without his psychiatric medications due to their negligence. I called continuously trying to find out why when he was transferred there his meds were abruptly discontinued and requesting he see the psychiatrist asap. It was a month before I found out he wasn't getting them (found out from my son) and then another 2 and 1/2 months before they finally had him see the psychiatrist and started him on 2 of the 3 meds yet never requested his psychiatric records to know what his diagnosis and med history was. His behavior went from good to horrible and he took a huge decline with not having the meds that help stabilize his chemical imbalances.
SECOND My son injured his ankle and it took them FIVE days to have it seen and x-rayed even though he was in a lot of pain. He ended up with 3 fractures and required surgery and screws in his ankle.
There are a few nice staff but if you have kids with medical needs be prepared for medical neglect.

Where do I begin? My son was sent here from Texas. Yes, at first I had my concerns just as most parents do. My son was on a path of destruction and headed to either prison or his coffin. My son arrived nine months ago mad at the world. He was 17 with an attitude and had pretty much no credits from previous high school. During the nine months, I literally watched my boy grow into a man. He accepted the help and the process to succeed. Today, he graduated Lakeside and received his diploma, something we all were very skeptical of in the beginning. Today, I take my son home a graduate. Lakeside flew my husband and i here from Texas twice to visit him, which they did not have to do. Weekly therapy sessions, and phone calls built our relationship stronger, and for that, I am truly in debt to Lakeside. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my son the tools and lessons needed to become a better man and to love himself again. Yes, he did the work, but ALL of you supported him and guided him. From the staff, teachers, peers, medical, therapists, team coordinators, cooks, to the directors, he needed you all, and you all were there. Thank You! To anyone who has doubts about Lakeside, I beg you to give it a chance for your child, as this place truly cares about the well being of each and every one of the kids that enter their doors. Again, thank you.
