I moved from Kansas City 5 years ago to work at LakePoint Wichita. I was surprised to find that several staff members had been employed by LakePoint for over 20 years. One woman had even been with the company for almost 40 years. She still works here. I am proud to say that I am one of the employees who has no intention of looking for another job any time soon. I have seen some employees that have come and gone. Of that group, many have returned. I wake up every morning and go to work at a place I think of as home. I visit with many who have become my extended family and I feel proud that I can contribute to a team that truly cares about the people we serve.

I thought the care was good to better. The only part I wasn't happy with was when my Father was in there he would not sleep at night very anxious and no one was available to sit with him to calm him down. He was not happy about not being at home. Other than that the facility was good, food was great.

My family member was at LakePoint Wichita and had a great experience. The care was wonderful. They CNA's are caring and prompt with answering the call light. The food was great. The Administrator, Alex, was very involved and caring.

My grandmother was in this place for approximatel...

My grandmother was in this place for approximately 40 days. Quite possibly the worse 40 days that she has endured since her childhood during the Great Depression. Among a laundry list of other things, 1. they stood by negligently and allowed her to fill up with some 50 pounds of fluid as a result of her congestive heart failure. 2. Rather than manage her situation, their response was to put her on 4 liters of oxygen in order to breathe through it 3. They handled her so roughly with their hands that she had bruises all over her legs 4. When we asked to test her for her reoccurring UTI in order to treat it, they flat out refused 5. When we tried to get her out and to the hospital to save her, they said the hospital probably wouldn t take her because she was dying. Once in the hospital, she quickly reduced the 50 pounds of fluid, which eventually got her off of the oxygen, and we have successfully relocated her to a much better facility where her health has thoroughly stabilized. Personally I hate to give any business a negative review, but I just can t imagine someone else s grandmother going through a situation such as this. (I have pictures supporting all of this, but I am not going to post them for the sake of privacy)

I would not recommend this place. A friends father is here and there has been numerous times they forgot to feed him and change his dialysis catheter.

This is a terrible time for her to have to worry about her fathers care!

DO NOT SEND ANYONE TO THIS PLACE THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!

I don t have very good things to say about LakePoint. My mom was there for about 20 days or so. During her stay, she wasn t taken care of the way they said that she would be. When she needed help and pressed the button for the nurse, nobody would show up. She had to go to the bathroom by herself, which was difficult because she had a broken foot/ankle. They would forget to give her nighttime medications. There was one lady, Olga, who took care of her and she deserves to be recognized for her good service. There was maybe 1 or 2 nurses that really cared about their job. There was one nurse that was extremely rude to her patients, unfortunately I don t know her name. My mom wouldn t eat much because the food was always served cold, even had hair in it sometimes. She was never informed on when she would get a shower so I would go in and wash her hair every other day, and help clean her up. Overall I was not pleased with her stay at LakePoint and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Lakepoint is a good facility with very friendly staff. Every time I am there, I am greeted with friendly smiles. It is always clean and smells great for a nursing home. They have treated my mother with patience and respect through her healing process. They appear to have adequate staff and typically answer call lights in a reasonable amount of time. The nurses are genuine and do not rush their cares.
