Despite the fact that their rates are much higher than the ones from my previous electrical company Lakeland electric does not support solar clients with net metering. They charge them 5.27$ per KW between the time of 1 and 8pm but only credit back the received power at a rate of 0.02 cents. That is penalizing solar clients and we now have to be worried to use too much power in those times and that after spending a fortune to get solar panels installed. No matter how much our system would be, they would always charge us that while it either doesn`t produce what we use and then don`t credit us back properly either. That can quickly can create a massive bill and should not be allowed to jeopardize solar clients like this

FYI - your payment option for direct debit does not work. I have tried to pay this way for several months but there is a disconnect. The payment pends once I process the payment, then it disappears. The best way and most efficient is to use a debit card. You should fix this as it could make your customers bills late. You think you've paid, but you haven't.

I have had to call customer service twice in my three years as a customer. Both times were due to a double debit on my checking account. Both instances I was told they would not refund my money. Worst customer service I have ever received. Rude, disengaged and completely unwilling to assist. Today she started out by saying that I must have made a mistake. Really?!?

been a customer for many years, never required a security deposit, now after being down for medical reasons and having 2 disconnects within a year they now want over $400.00 security deposit. After calling them, I asked them if there is something they can do to help and was simply told "NO". This is the worst utility I have ever dealt with and their customer service is so uncaring it is amazing. Aside from the lousy service and uncaring customer service reps they continually have price increases and their quality of service and uptime is lacking.

We have been a customer for many years with zero billing issues. We Have worked though the entire pandemic making way less than normal and now we are to the point we struggling to pay bills. Last month on 8/17 we called asking for a 3 day extension to pay our bill which was granted. We paid the bill when we said we would. Just last night on 9/13 we received our next regular bill along with a cut off notice at the same time saying the power was supposed to be shut off 3 days ago. How about 24 hours notice or something?? Came home from work to find no power. No notice, bad service. The bill was paid this evening at 6 pm and 4 hours later no sign of our power being restored.

Ive had nothing but good things to say about Lakeland Electric. The rates are better than duke energy. Customer service is friendly and helpful, and I use my bill pay and never had an issue. I've been emailing the solar department and they have been extremely helpful.

I have called and spoke about three different matters with three different people at different time. And each experience was always unpleasant. the customer service is poor , The representatives always have an attitude even for the smallest questions. Definitely can t wait to move back to Tampa and have TECO!

Disgusting customer service by a agent named Anastasia. She was distracted by a supervisor email . Then refused to transfer me to a supervisor because she said she had my license infront of her and I have a female voice and it shows I m a male. When I called back they said they don t have licenses and now my account is conveniently locked. So I wonder does that mean I still have to pay? Since my account is locked and no one will speak to me

I hope someone from Lakeland electric looks into this. Today 8/102020 at 10 am - 1030 am I was hung up on by a rep named mike and was threatened by the following rep that they would call my job and let them know.. she didn t finish her statement. The last rep was very sweet so I m sorry she had to deal with the aftermath. My power was cut and apparently I was given a notice of disconnect via email. I didn t realize that was a thing to receive a disconnect through email. Aside from that I paid my electric bill on time/early and sometimes double. My power was cut due to a late payment of 90 dollars. I would have paid it if they had informed me formally (via Mail or phone call). Lakeland electric are ruthless bullies and I pray I can connect with another energy company when I find a home. I m very disappointed with the service and will from this day forward advise everyone away from Lakeland electric. May God have mercy on ruthless companies such as this
