Lake Union Partners: Building Communities and Creating Value
Lake Union Partners is a Seattle-based real estate development company that specializes in creating vibrant, sustainable communities. Founded in 2005, the company has a proven track record of transforming underutilized properties into thriving mixed-use developments that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
At Lake Union Partners, we believe that great ideas can always be made greater. That's why we're constantly pushing ourselves to innovate and find new ways to create value for our clients and the communities we serve. Whether it's through thoughtful design, sustainable building practices, or community engagement initiatives, we're committed to making a positive impact on the world around us.
Our Approach
At Lake Union Partners, we take a holistic approach to real estate development. We don't just build buildings; we create places where people want to live, work, and play. Our projects are designed with an eye towards sustainability and community-building principles that promote social interaction and environmental stewardship.
We also believe in being good stewards of our resources. That's why we prioritize adaptive reuse projects whenever possible – taking existing structures and repurposing them for modern use rather than tearing them down and starting from scratch.
Our Projects
Over the years, Lake Union Partners has developed an impressive portfolio of successful projects throughout Seattle. From historic renovations like The Central Agency Building in Pioneer Square to cutting-edge mixed-use developments like The Roost in Capitol Hill – each project is unique but shares our commitment to creating vibrant communities.
One of our most recent projects is The Publix Hotel – a historic renovation located in Seattle's Chinatown-International District neighborhood. Originally built as a hotel for sailors during World War II, The Publix had fallen into disrepair over the years before LUP stepped in with plans for its restoration.
Today, The Publix is once again a thriving hub of activity – featuring 60 affordable housing units alongside retail space on its ground floor. It serves as an example of how thoughtful redevelopment can not only preserve history but also provide much-needed affordable housing options for local residents.
Another notable project is West Woodland Apartments – located just north of Ballard Bridge on Leary Way NW - which features 91 apartments above street-level retail space anchored by PCC Community Markets grocery store - one more example how LUP creates value by bringing together different uses within one building complex while preserving historical elements such as brick facades or exposed beams wherever possible.
