Great venue! Staff and volunteers are helpful and friendly.

Come early for a casual drink, snack or meal. Bring a jacket because it gets cool after dark. And enjoy. . . this is a terrific (but a bit quirky) way to experience live music!

This is a great place to be for a concert. It's been awhile since I've been there but I've seen some great shows there, Bella Fleck and the Flecktones, Willy Nelson, Little Feat, Greg Brown, Taj Mahal to name a few. Always a good time.

It was my first time visiting even though I've lived nearby my whole life, and I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. The show I saw was an American Idol style contest featuring local singers. I figured they'd be okay, but I was completely blown away by the level of talent. There was a 7th grade girl who sang like a grown up...huge pipes in this girl. And everyone else was so good too that I really think anyone could have won. And even though it's a humble venue with dirt floors and portable toilets, the sound system is high quality and the concessions feature local favorites like Tetzners ice cream and fresh cheese curds.

It has to be seen to be appreciated. 900 people. That's it. Everybody so close to stage -- incredible. Do not be confused by what may appear to be acts that are fallen headliners. This is no county fair venue. Many of the performers, I am told, come in specifically to play here. Big Top is known, and admired by musicians and fans alike. No way I can describe it adequately. Go to one show, featuring one artist you like, and you will know exactly what I mean. Brian Setzer, August 2019. Saw him. Awesome.

Definitely a unique setting...you can't get much more Northern Wisconsin than this.. A huge tent, in the middle of a field, at the bottom of a ski hill...I love it. Seating is a mix of Church pews and theater style fold down woods seats, with a gravel floor! You just have to experience it once, and you will definitely want to return. Smaller venue, so all seats have a relatively good view. Outdoor lawn seating is also a good cheaper seating option. Always amazing talent and a fun crowd.

This is a one-of-a-kind experience. If you like some group is playing at big top Chautauqua you should go and see them because the venue in the area are so fun. We will continue to go back and listen to some awesome tunes. I would love to work there someday- I can imagine all the great shows I would see.

Awesome seasonal space bringing top talent, as well as local shows to the area. Sound and lighting are good, as is seating (with the possible exception of a few tent leaks here and there if it's raining hard... but everything else is so good, you hardly notice.)
