Clean rooms, but giving 3 stars because they still carry out security theater by not doing a full service breakfast. Also, the Chequamagon grill is closed. But you still get a great lake view and have access to the waterfront trail.
Lovely historic building, unfortunately, this means there might be a few issues due to age... We had some minor plumbing issues, but the staff fixed us up with a new room and were very professional. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Great views of the lake from the back deck.
FYI - the pool is closed because of Covid. Been snowmobiling all over the state and MI staying in hotels and the pools have all been open. Weird... no real issue with it being closed, but tell people - put it on the website. The restaurant is closed also..
King jacuzzi suite! This Place was exactly what we both (my husband and I) were looking for in a weekend without out kids. (9 & 17 yrs).sundays breakfast was not directed well, pickup was odd, but they offered more then most hotels. Room was clean but warm and hallways were way to hot. Room Windows didn't open. A little lake air would of been nice and earned a 5th star. Staff was nice and gave us privacy. Overall 4 .5 stars! Thank you Hotel Chequamegon. Checkout the Ashland mural walk, it was neat.
We got the king bed jacuzzi suite and it was amazing! The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and the jacuzzi was so relaxing after a rainy day on Madeline Island. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a grab and go continental with bagel, yogurt, banana, granola bar and water. We got room service from the restaurant and the food was quick and hot. The server was very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Booked 2 night stay had to change rooms 3 times due to tv issues electric issuea and each one had non function room phone. Told me at time since I booked and paid with priceline they could refund me. But after few days of going up later seems now they can but 68 dollars isn't enough to me out of 275 stay. If I was offered even room upgrade at time this wouldn't be issue. And hit was maybe quarter full.
Beautiful motel, would stay there again. Had a beautiful view of Lake Superior. Had a good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
The desk clerk was very helpful. Our requested side by side rooms were given away and when he realized we were a family he upgraded us so we could be next to each other. The people serving breakfast were efficient and polite.
