This is probably the worst school I ve been to. The admissions office has no clue what they are doing and the only person who knows is Caitlin Moore, who is very rude. If you don t pay for one class on ONE of the deadline for a semester for later, you get dropped from ALL the classes, including the ones that were paid for. The classes available are all during the same times and most are for the South Lake campus. There are often many problems with the emails and contact information, which they won t help you change and won t look at until you finally go up there and throw a fit. There are also many threats and fights at the school. Definitely would not recommend unless you re desperate.

I have been going to this school for over a year now and I enjoy going here. The classes are small which I enjoy. I went to Valencia College years ago and I would go here over Valencia any day. All the instructors I have had so far express their care for students and teaching.

The classes and professors are alright.. I transferred here from another community college and I m not happy with Lake Sumter staff. For over a year now I ve been asking for my degree and yet still have no paper... yet they ve told me multiple times they were working on it. Doesn t take over a year to send a paper that I spent a bunch of money on.

it's a third rate school, and the administration knows it's a third rate school, and they won't change. for example, you can prove that your grade was arbitrarily assigned, document the discrepancy, and present the facts to the board of directors. if you do this, your grade won't change, however, you will be expelled, and issued a trespass notice.
the fact is, i'm not the only one this has happened to. moreover, the good administrators leave because they know it is pointless to try to fix this broken system

The worst college I have ever attended! The professor failed me because I wasn't able to take the final because I was in the hospital for 2 weeks! I have proof I was in the hospital and submitted all the documents. His words were "This is online class I don't care if your grandmother died you get no do overs, no exception!" I was in the hospital very sick and absolutely no way to do the test. So now my GPA dropped significantly and I have to go through an appeal process!

Really wish there was a zero-star option (Leesburg campus). Do not go here... The front desk personnel at student services are rude as can be. Ive never felt more discouraged to join a college. Professionalism from the student services personnel is non-existent. Go to Valencia, over there you can at least feel like they want you to study with them.

I have been chipping away at my AA degree for a few years now. The advising staff are wonderful! The instructors are great too! The front desk staff are amazing! The reason I am giving TWO stars is because of the terrible financial aid office and lack of accountability. The financial aid staff make me feel like the biggest inconvenience to their day. They are condescending, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I have spoken with several financial aid staff members over the years and continuously have the same awful experience because they do not want to help but would rather complain about their job and even say not to call! Why is there even a phone number to speak with these people who do not care to treat students with decency and respect? We do not know all the answers and call for their expertise, but some are too busy eating snacks on the phone and treating me less-than for not knowing their job. Being in customer service, I should expect friendly and helpful staff on the phone and in person. I am almost done here but please, for the well-being of current and future students, require these staff attend customer service training ASAP if they are going to continue in public service, or better yet, hire new, kinder staff who care about students and their jobs. The current financial aid staff are giving Lake-Sumter State College a terrible reputation to the point I can no longer recommend my own college.
