Lake Presidential Golf Club Review

I just played Lake Presidential Golf Course on Saturday (Aug 8, 2015) and I was incredibly appalled at the conditions of the course!!! The fairways looked like a they just held a monster truck rally, the greens had more craters than the moon, most bunkers could be used for mud wrestling and you would have been lucky to find a single grass clump on most of the tee boxes!! I MEAN, THIS WAS A DISGRACE!! Come on....when you see families of mushrooms and 6 inch tall weed growing in the middle of the fairways.....that means they haven't seen a lawnmower in quite a while!

I have no idea what has happened to this course....I played it at around a year ago and it was in excellent shape...it used to be one of my favorites.....is there a new management team? is it losing money? Whatever the reasons the fact is that it has gone downhill and I am afraid I will not go back and will not recommend anyone to play it. Get a new Greens Keeper!!

I just drove by it this time but it does look challenging!

the grounds are beautiful the golf course is beautiful everybody was very pleasant except for the guy that checks you in that you pay for to go out on the golf course he needs to smile more not a very pleasant person not sure if he's not happy with his job or just having a bad day but I still gave you five stars because the golf course is beautiful and everybody else was pleasant.

The course was amazing the cart girl Karla was even better than the course what a pleasure

$85 during the week in December is over priced especially not being in perfect condition

This golf course is golf cart only because they didn't take care of it. The staff isn't very hospitable. This course, which used to be a nice course is now overpriced.

Not my favorite design, narrrow fairways, blind shots and vey few flat lies even from the middle of the fairway. Apparently the course was in really bad shape last year and they are working hard to get it back but there's a lot of bad burned out spots in fairways and even tee boxes as of 7/7/2017. Staff were all super nice and really trying to talk up the course but its a tough sell. Cart path only makes it a long round and they have no plans to change it till the course is in better shape and for the price its just not worth it yet but maybe down the road it will be.

Nicely maintained course. Very tricky shot makers course with much trouble to find and yes we did many times. High handicappers should bring lots of golf balls.

The staff is always very courteous, encouraging, friendly and professional. The facilities are in good repair as well as the driving range.

Very nice golf course but also very difficult. Club house has been updated and looks great inside. However, the food is below par. I have not been happy with 80 percent of what I ordered. Whole foods has better food.

One of the worst courses I've played in Maryland. I got a email the morning of the round telling me they were air-rating. When I got there they said 9 holes were shut down and we would have to play the back nine twice. The conditions of the nine that were open are atrocious.

Great atmosphere, good food and drinks. Overall great service as well!

For the price, disappointed with the greens, tee boxes and no Marshall. The no Marshall made us have an over 5 hr. It has the potential to be a great course but needs some polish.

COVID has nothing to do with the issues here. Many other courses in MD look great and all have Marshall s to manage play.

Greatly improved course and clubhouse. Good draft beer choices and excellent food. The new manager and Billy Casper Golf have really turned this place around.

Love golfing here. Greens and fairway always are beautiful. It s a quality course that definitely has difficult holes, though there are a few that even the newest golfer would enjoy.

If you re in Maryland, this is a must play!

Course and range are in great condition. Staff facilitated seamless flow for patrons under recommended COVID-19 guidelines.

Course and the greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them. Play here several times every year since they've opened. Grounds crew deserves a fist bump!

So I played last Sunday, and it was nothing to write home about. The course layout was nice, but the condition was subpar for the price. $93.00. The carts need updated, the fairways need patched. Interestingly there was no divot mix on the carts. I guess it wouldn't have mattered anyways seeing it was cart path only. The beverage cart person didn't even start until we were through the front. They don't accept cash for purchases, but sure do for tips. All in all, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Nice layout with variation. The green has challenging adulation and fast. The staff was friendly and helpful

Haven't play the course in years thought our group would go back and have a good time.
The course is in horrible condition. The whole course is diseased. Pace of play was 5 hours 20 minutes With no Marshall with the balls to do anything.
Just a horrible experience. Don't waste your time going there.

On a positive note, the course design is very good/challenging.

Working with client purchasing in Beech Tree community. Discovered tactics of one particular builder there to be totally unprofessional and a disadvantage to customers. Please always work with a sharp and experienced Realtor to result in saving YOU money, knows the process, and gets you a lower interest rate, no points and closing help :).

Very nice course with very helpful and friendly golf staff. Not sure why there was no water on the course and why the cart girl left at two with people on the course.
Service in the restaurant was slow and very unorganized. Food was ok. After the round sat at the bar a few minutes then told it was closed. Should have been a sign stating it closed at 730. People still on the course, wonder why they closed.

Excellent condition and the staff members were very helpful and courteous. We play here a couple of times every summer and its in great shape.

Today I specially brought my friend there to play. In the past weeks, I went there at 6pm as the shop charged 30 dollar after 6. But today, the staff called Spence told me it was 40 dollar when I came in at 6:10pm. He said it was normal rate. The guy beside him called himself the manager. He told me that the shop charged you 30 dollar in the past because the guys then treated you nice so gave you a better deal. I was shocked. I played there several times and i was told to pay 30 dollar after 6. Every time. The golf shop was not professional and they easily adjusted the price as it was seafood market.

I felt bad to bring my friend there. I lost trust in this course as the people were rude and unprofessional. I don t recommend anyone to go as they would rip you off.

A difficult but very beautiful and fun course. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great shape. Can t wait to play it again.

Carla was the best mobile cocktail technician I've ever seen! She is the best in the area!

A very very difficult course with one of my favorite layouts of all time, I still think that Lake Presidential is one of the most underrated golf courses in the DC Metropolitan Area. The good news about that is obviously that the course is less crowded as result. I would highly recommend this course though not without a dose of caution: it is a tough eighteen!

Workers are really rude a lot of ego issues too. It's got a nice practice facility but have had issues with getting balls. When I pay the price for them I expect to get all the balls. Not told to go down to the range and there be nothing at all

Beautiful course with some of the most picturesque golf holes in the area! Conditions have greatly improved over the past 12 months. Very professional and courteous staff from the pro shop to the snack bar. The only drawback was having to keep the cart in the path for the entire round. I plan on on playing there again before the season ends.

Was not worth 85 dollar for cart path only to many hills and long walk the course fairway are great and the green are good , but the tee boxes suck and the guy at the pros hope atn10.00 on Sunday the 13 was very rude, it will be a while before income back it a shame because the place could be great little course. But as mention again will be a while before I return if I ever done. Also with the course be ing so close to the military base you could at least give us a discount

it's a beautiful course you never seem to notice the houses the tee boxes and greens are in great shape, one particular whole you have to drive over a mile after you hit your shot which is very impressive I've never done that for as long as I've played golf, the staff is professional oh, the staff is professional and helpful and very efficient and very efficient they also have a very nice practice range

This was the first time I played this course. I loved the layout, conditions, scenery and atmosphere.

Played there today. The worst course I have ever played on. They said they are working on it. Not sure how there working on it or how they let it get that bad? Tuesday morning, and not one person trying to work on course. Don't waste your money. If I could have given it a zero star, I would've.

Pretty place, food fancy hordverish fried. Kitchen a bit loud during service.

Great layout and the staff is very accomidating. However, they have widespread turf problems. Many fairways are virtually unplayable. Large areas devoid of grass. Just moist black dirt. I assume it's some sort of turf disease. I'm sure they will get it squared away but in the mean time beware.

Really great shape for how hot its been in the mid-Atlantic this year. The new management and staff have really brought the course back. I play here often.

The tee boxes were all brown grass in poor shape, the course was generally in poor condition. The amenities were almost non existenced, it was a very hot day and the beverage wagon made to appearance's for 18 holes.

Cart path only because of the rain. Course is in really good shape. Fairways looked great and greens were true. Front desk was friendly, bag guys were very helpful with personality, and the Marshall kept the round moving. Will definitely return.

The fairways and rough are in decent shape and the staff is friendly. The layout is challenging but fair. The tee boxes are uneven and dirt. The green are in bad shape with grass missing everywhere

Tougher than I thought....The course is somewhat challenging but I must consider that this was my first time playing here. Winter golf on a 60 Degree day has me wanting to play here again. The fairways are in pretty good shape now and should be better once spring arrives. Can't wait!!! The staff was more than hospitable. I must say they were extremely welcoming.

Today was my first day playing this course, and it was a hoot. Highly recommend.

Very nice course. I love all the nice bodies of water and how well the course is kept.

Beautiful course, there are a few little areas under transition - which they are working on with sod or some such - but all in all, one of the best around. Certainly the best I've ever played on a regular basis. Not sure comments about length - I get plenty of challenge from the blues and I drive it 260-280. The tips are 7100 I think. Plus There are so many different looks to keep you twisting. bad shots get punished pretty judiciously. #8 Par 5 hard to keep it on the fairway. Super friendly staff. Absolutely Love this course. Also Re: Older reviews - this course has been under Billy Casper management for last 2 years. From what I understand, old mgmt company not so great.. if you look - everything from within the past year or so is very positive. I played once and Joined as a member; it's that good. Plus huge bonus - grass driving range! one of the few in the area.. mats don't tell you when you're hitting fat..... 5 Start golf experience.

Lake Prez is in it s Very Best condition since 2010-2011 !!!! The greens are great ,not a blemish on the fairways... I played Today!!!! Get over there. I have not seen the golf course in this great shape in many many years ... When I go back on Sunday (Father s Day) I m wearing my Footjoy Premier leather shoes, (Olscool) baby !!! Seriously though .. get over there and play.. Hreat condition. 6/12/18.

I didn't like the fact that we were told this was an "open house" but barely explained what an open house was! It would be nice if the only rep that you have that deals with weddings worked with couples who do not have the typical schedule to get off on weekdays to see your venue! It was a very unpleasant experience to walk in like a chicken with your heads cut off not knowing where to go or who to speak to. Then given a cold shoulder by the other staff as if we weren't supposed to be there. Very unwelcoming, belittling experience! I would NEVER recommend this place for a wedding or any other function!

Entire staff is so friendly, supportive and professional from the Pro Shop, Starter, Cart Girl and all of the maintenance crew. I love this course especially when you can ride 90 degrees to your ball. I've had the food here also, need to bring Wifey over for dinner.
