Lago del Pino Review

This is a beautiful place on the lake. I have had dinner here which was very good and that is why I chose to come here for Mothers Day Sunday Brunch. Price is right with all you can drink mimosa and bloody Mary bar however the buffet was not so good. They advertised omelet bar, waffle bar and potato bar. Never found an omelet bar. Potatoe bar was just a potatoe wrapped in foil with cheese, butter & sour cream. It also advertised fresh pastries which appeared to be from Sam's Club warmed up. We outdoors and were inedated with bees

This was my first time visiting. I can't express enough how beautiful this place is! The food was wonderful and not overly pricey. Looking out over the lake is just breathtaking!!!!! Party rooms are available as well as great out door seating. Give it a try!

Food was real good. Service was so nice and helpful (Kelly and Amir). The singer and guitar player, Dustin Becker, was very entertaining. And the view is breathtaking. I will definitely visit again.

We always receive great service. Tonight, Angela was excellent. Our food was prepared correctly and it was delicious.

Went here for a meeting and the food was delicious, owner and staff were friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. Can't wait to come back with my family.

There are options for brunch: buffet or brunch menu. Check both before deciding since the price difference is about $10. Depending on how big your party is, there's a service charge added to your check. The place is nice and the table servers are on the go always.

My meal was VERY mediocre. The prices and atmosphere were made to male me think it would be cuisine, but the meal was not good. The dessert was horrible, like eating a wet sock. Tried it once, won't go back. Sorry...

First time customer, had trouble finding a clean table & after ordering the beef fajitas was not happy with the quality of the meat. The prices were pricey & expected better quality. Live entertainment was top notch, The tuxedo Cats were way above average. The waitress for drinks was difficult to find. Met the manager who was very nice in finding us a table close to the dance floor. I did try the fish tacos that were really good. Hope to return & see improvements....

The bar needs a highly experienced manager, they can't handle a small crowd. We waited a long time for our drinks, then to close our tabs, etc..... The place is very nice and the food is good.

The food was delicious, as always. But the wait staff was worse than usual tonight. We never expect fast service as it is a usually a very laid back, casual, enjoyable place to have a delicious dinner. Tonight was too laid back. We asked for water and extra salsa three times before receiving, asked for the check twice, and asked for a spoon for soup twice. When we were leaving, our waitress was talking to the hostess. Our dirty plates had not been cleared and we had already waited 20 minutes after finishing our dinner for the check. We will be back, because we love the food and the view but on a relatively uncrowned night we expected a little more from the wait staff.

Terrible service, over priced food that wasn't very good, terrible tasting beer, we were the only customers in the restaurant but it still took an hour to get our food and couldn't get our drinks refilled. Will not be going back.

Have been multiple times - date night with my wife, family outings & work gatherings. Each experience has been great. The scenery is outstanding, service is always prompt & friendly and the food is good.

Great place on a small lake, pond, to have drinks and some appetizers. Food was great and the location is wonderful. Would be great for a wedding reception as it has nice views.

We have been numerous times, And this weekend! Was terrible, From start to finish.
Dining area was dirty, Grandson almost set on a tack in his chair.. Food quality has dropped off significantly...And , the service ! Was average at best. Was very disappointed!

Yes, it's very pretty to look at, but looks can be deceiving. My party and I were seated. The waiter gave us our menus. My friend inquired about the specials. The waiter didn't know. I inquired about a drink. The waiter didn't know. We ordered an appetizer and the waiter walked away.

The table next to us inquired about the specials and were given a full list by a different waiter. They waiter picked up the drink menu and even suggested a few new cocktails. Our waiter had yet to return. I asked this other - more competent - waiter for a drink menu.

When our waiter finally returned, I ordered a cocktail and dinner as did the rest of my party. To make a long story short (too late), the food was even worse than the service. My chicken tasted like rubber. The wontons with prime rib had some sort of spam (processed/pureed) product inside which made it inedible (did not contain prime rib). My friend with the chicken pretzel sandwich tore it apart trying to find something edible inside. Simply put, the food was awful.

Finally, when the bill arrived it was incorrect. We were overcharged. The wontons weren't taken off the original bill. The drinks were "miscalculated". I had to redo the ticket twice before it was correct. I also had to fetch the waiter because he was nowhere to be found and we wanted out of this place.

As you can tell, I do not recommend this restaurant in the least. Service is horrid. Food is horrid. And, basic math ability is nonexistent.

In December a group of ladied met one Saturday evening for one of the ladies birthday. Beautiful setting and we had appetizers and cocktails outside and as long as that was it the waitress was very attentive. Once we moved inside to our reserved table not so much. She brought my entree out and was the wrong order so took it back and took forever to get what I ordered. The cake box I had her stash in kitchen was plopped in the middle of the table still in a bag without candles being lit or anything. I still tipped generously, because I was once in her shoes and giving benefit of doubt. Reviewing my reciept a few days later realized I paid for the entree I ate AND the one she took back that I never ordered. Talked to Mngmt twice and was assured would make good however over a month has passed and no resolution. Enjoy the setting, food and entertainment, but there are so many other options for those things that will have to pass on this venue for future events and dinners.

Was there to listen to music, very nice setup on the back patio overlooking the Lake.

Hosted a baby shower here recently. They have a room upstairs for this type of occasion. The food was very good and the servers were very attentive and helpful. Beautiful place.

We had a company party upstairs. Nice atmosphere. The garden salad left a little to be desired (was kinda soggy), but I was impressed with the filet mignon and the sopapilla cheesecake dessert. The barkeeps were attentive and fast when I ordered drinks. Worth trying again.

This is our first and last time here. Actually sitting here currently and should have left. We were sat down at a table and no waiter to be found after 15 mins and had to request one. Waiter Kaylie was sent over with keys still on blue jeans and looked like she was not actually our server. Took forever for the Paloma I ordered and then asked what seasonal veggies were with the dish and she had no idea. Asked for plastic ware and stated they didn t have any but would go check. No masks or Covid-19 precautions in sight. The outside is beautiful but the service was terrible and food was less than Mediocre. Stay away from this place. I surely won t be back.

Beautiful setting but the food is far below average. Have been there 3 different times and have sworn off the place. I will admit the salads are good and perhaps going there for lunch might be workable!

Went with my family last night for a nice birthday dinner and some live music when 2 fights broke out. My husband was jumped and they even took his shoes right off his body and the employees refused to help or do anything about the situation.

Terrible experience!! We made a reservation for an outside table only to be told none were available. We were seated without even a view of the lake. We sat for nearly 20 minutes before the waitress came for our drink order. I found a fly in my salad. I had the fish tacos. The fish was slightly undercooked and heavily salted. My husband had the pork chop that was very overdone and tough. We were not even done with our food and the waitress brought us the check and said she needed us to pay because she had a table on the other side of the restaurant and couldn t come back to check on us. She charged us for my salad with the fly. We will not return!

We visited on the 4th of July and decided to return for brunch! It was fantastic! Gareth ordered of the menu and I had the buffet. Gareth's crab cakes benedict was excellent with grilled tomatoes and country potatoes. The waffles were delicious! They had a great selection of other great foods: omelets with ingredients you choose, fresh made fruit salad, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, many other selections. The grounds are beautiful we walked around after brunch. Will make this a regular.

We went there on a Saturday night with a small party (8 people). It was not busy at all. Mediocre service, ALL of the stalls in the bathroom didn't have toilet paper, and NO lock on the any of the bathroom doors! Food was NOT worth the prices. Disappointed...

Brunch has no danish's, bagels, English muffins, toast...all things you would expect at a brunch.. had to ask for ketchup which arrive nearly 15 minutes later. My food already gone cold. This was my second time there. I went for dinner months ago.. I was served cold food and there were many many fruit flys. I won't go again

The food was pretty good, until I found a peice of hard plastic in my fajita. But at that point, I had waited so long on our food that I just picked it out and didnt say anything.The service was terribly slow considering they weren't even busy. The waitress would get one thing at a time. For instance, there were 9 at our table, she took one appetizer order and left. She didnt even come back and get the other appetizer orders until the 1st was being delivered. Beautiful restaurant though! I'd probably give it another chance in the future. But this visit was definitely unimpressive.

Great scenery very romantic but the food wasn't great

We enjoy eating out. Last night we visited this superb restaurant which we didn t know before. We had a lovely time there with great meal and an efficient stuff and an impressive chief cook. We added this restaurant in our list and we will certainly visit again very soon. Highly recommended.

The building and views are are very nice. The food, I had breakfast buffet, was just ok. Omelette was good due to it being made fresh. A little pricey

This is such an awesome place to dine!!!! I did not want to leave!!!! I became so excited about Lag del Pino that I have decided to seek management about reserving the outside part for a wedding/reception. The food was sooo awesome!!!! if you are a salad fan try the pear rosemary salad with grilled chicken it is to die for and the house wine was perfect cant wait to call the manager and see if we can reserve the outside.

Great outdoor space and good drinks. Highly recommend The Lago (margarita).
At night on the weekends this restaurant becomes more of a club with live music, dancing, and a cover charge.

This is a perfectly lovely place. The outdoor patio has a great view. The staff was courteous and the food was delicious. We will definently be back!!

Have been here sine they first opened, when it's so packed that it was over filled and we had to park on the side of the road. Service was great back then. Entertainment was top notch and holiday events were wild and fun. Have given this place another chance for about 3 years now. Food: 3/10. Service 4/10. Pricing 4/10. Latin Night: 2/10. Atmosphere 8/10. Brunch is fine....But not going back anymore. What a shame. Our group use to love it here......Back to ricks now.

This was my second time dinning at Lago del Pino and both times didn't really impress me. I ordered the crab bruschetta on French bread it was very bland and boring. I feel they are a little pricey for the quality of food that was provided. No one in our group was really pleased with thier meals. However, it is a beautiful establishment with a large lovely patio and well kept grounds. Great hang out but "meh" on the food,basically.

I double dated my fiancee with my Aunt and Uncle here, and it was AMAZING.

Needs management, great venue/food but leadership pride is missing IMHO

I visited Pino del Lago this morning for a brunch and was so appalled when I saw what the bartender brought out for $30. I asked the server, Kimber, how much was a bottle of Pinot Grigio since they only had the item as a glass and not a bottle like we ordered the Mimosas setup. Kimber never told me the price, she just sent the bartender out with dirty glasses before telling me anything. She was overwhelmed being her 3rd day on the job with a 15 crew table and not having a clue what to do, so, she took a 30 minute break to keep from breaking down! I saw the bottle was Winking Owl from Aldi that cost 2.98, a bottle for an upsale restaurant. I almost died! I couldn't believe it! Aldi is my favorite store because of the no preservatives and only 4 ingredients so I figured the bottle would be no more than $15 because I know they have to make a profit but $30 is price gauging. Why would this high end restaurant serve $2.98 cheap wine for $30? They never ever have to worry about me visiting again. Plus, the food is not that good. A disappointed customer who thought this place was in the lane as "The Grove" but could NEVER!!!

Says free before 9 but charged us 5-10 prior to 9. $10 it is for an empty club. Never again!

Just stay away, don't bother coming here whatsoever. It's pointless to make a reservation because when we got here, the place was dead. The servers were pretty chill but the food was bland and apparently none of the bar tenders get proper training because our waiter said and I quote "I'll just Google how to make your drinks". Beautiful looking restaurant but not worth the the money or the drive. You're better off going to taco bell.

We had a reservation for 8. We showed up about 20 minutes early just to sit at the hostess desk completely ignored for about 5 minutes. When the hostess did show up she informed us that there were no tables available outside and that the people at the tables seemed to be there for the band. So we had no chance at an outside table. We decided to sit inside since we were hungry. We sat there for another 10 minutes and only saw 1 wait staff, who told us she was going to get water and never came back. At about 10 minutes the hostess came over to inform us that our waiter was waiting on other tables but knew we were there.

Since there were 5 tables sat and we didn t see a single table get helped we decided to leave. It s a shame. It smelled delicious and we were looking forward to a romantic anniversary dinner. With the complete lack of acknowledgement I doubt we ll be back.

When we first got there we saw a woman ask for a manager. She was still waiting for a manager when we left.

This place is basically Chilli's on the lake. No offense to Chilli's, or lakes. Very slow and inattentive service. Food was bland and nothing special. You're basically paying for atmosphere, which is the only redeeming quality. I would go somewhere else.

Atmosphere is really cool. Very laid-back place to chill and have a drink. The food sucks! If you're looking for a nice meal that's worth the price I do not recommend this place!!!!! It has its attributes but food is not it.

Terrible service, "ok" food, took over an hour to get that "ok" food. It wasn't until after everyone had decided what they wanted that we were informed that all they were serving was brunch (Sunday lunch). There are much better places around Tyler.

Weat to "Latin Night" in hopes of Salsa as well which should be included, the others services good like the regular places, nothing special !!

I have been several times now. The food is pretty good, but the service has been very slow every time.

Great place, good drinks, good food, amazing place for events, or bands. You gotta give it a go and check out the view from the deck - wow!

It's ok! The food isnt to good and rather expensive.. the selection is also very small! It can be fun, if you are ok w spending 100$ for food and beers in a 3 hours period .
The servers tend to forget about the customers and I have to go to the bar Alot To get my drinks.

Loved the venue and scenery, unfortunately the food was sub par.... ordered the loaded fries and the Trio Fajitas for one to split. Tortillas came out microwaved and we rubbery before the hit the table, and beef fajita was cut with the grain and made it tough to eat. Flavor was good and local craft beers.

Excellent food and wait staff. Great place. We will be back.

If I could post no stars I would. My husband and I have come on two different occasions.

The first time we had a horrible dinner experience between the tasteless food and lack of service.

The second one was today, we came for the brunch menu. I was attracted to giving the restaurant another chance because I love waffles and they have a waffle bar. Their brunch is $17 a plate. I want to start out with nothing on the brunch buffet is marked. When we arrived there was only us at the buffet bar, I ordered a waffle. I stood there until the gentleman cooking my waffle said it would take 5 minutes, so I walked back to my table. I assumed it would be brought to me, after more than 5 minutes I walked to check on it the gentleman was nowhere to be found. I grabbed a champagne flutes to get orange juice and the glass smelled like a dog had drank out of it. I walked back to my table again, as I sat down there was a woman down on the lower level smoking. Supposedly, that is allowed on the lower deck outside... For $17 for breakfast that being allowed is obsured to me. The manager is passing it off to be a high falutint restaurant but he/she allows smoking.

Back to my waffle- Because I couldn't sit down due to being allergic to smoke I went to check on it again. The man had returned, my waffle was burnt to the top of the waffle iron. I just passed on another one. I ate the other subpart food on the buffet and we left. We will not be back. We can go to another local brunch spot pay way less for better food, get our meal smoke free, and get better service.

Good atmosphere, properly spiced meals. Waiter seemed a bit upset. Other than that, everything was good

1) It took over an hour for our food to arrive at our table
2) instead of serving us refills, they stood around talking
3) when our food finally arrived, one family member got food that she didn t even order, a bunch of sides where not delivered when asked for at the beginning of the service, very dried burger bun.( it was so dry that if you blew on it it would disappear)
4) all this happening while the restaurant was EMPTY but two other couples.
5) unconfident waitress and waiter
6) I have heard that other times where good but this time was upsetting
7) awkward setting
8) unprofessional
9) our waitress kept disappearing
10) our waitress didn t even know what was on the menu
11) very clueless people
12) and worst of all, we were celebrating a family members anniversary!!

We had reservations for our anniversary which was on January 1st 2020. New Year s day.
2 days prior I received a confirmation text from Yelp that confirmed the reservation. I received a call on the day of the reservation from the manager apologizing that the restaurant wasn t actually open to the public that day and was very sorry but asked if we could change our reservation and he would make it right by offering our meal to be free. We told him that would be great. This was our first time going and we really enjoyed it. The place is beautiful and the food and service were great!
We will definitely be back again. And we were very appreciative of the fact that they made things right for the misunderstanding!

Update July 2018. There is a new dj .worst experience ever. Bad music, sound and he doesn't even play the music that is he asked for.

We've been to meet most of the menu options and their brunch. It has all been to par and the wait staff are well placed. Anytime we have friends&family come into Tyler, Lago del Pino is our go to.

Love Lago! Everything we have ordered has been amazing! The staff is fantastic & Matt always goes above & beyond!

I attempted contacting this restaurant multiple times via phone, but could never get anyone to answer. I left a voicemail, but never received a return call. Finally I contacted a manager, Jeremy Sockwell, via email provided on their website. He responded same day and gave me another phone number to call and make a reservation. I called and spoke to Jeremy on the phone, and we made a reservation 8 days in advance for 11 people on the patio for my dad's 60th birthday. We had family come into town to celebrate. Upon arriving at the restaurant we are told we do not have a reservation and we would have to wait 45 minutes to be seated on the patio. They seated us inside, but it was freezing cold indoors. Then our
queso "blanco" appetizer came to the table, which I'm pretty sure was microwaved velveeta. On top of that, our chips were stale and they were completely out of rolled silverware. They brought us silverware in two drinking glasses and no napkins. We finally had to ask for napkins of any kind. At this point I had had it. I went to the hostesses and asked to speak to Jeremy directly. He happened to be standing there. I explained the whole situation and he remembered emailing/talking with me about the reservation. He never once apologized! He said in a very irritated manner, "I'll get you seated outside" and walked off. I didn't know if I were to follow him or go back to our table and wait for him. He finally came back and moved us to a table on the patio, now 30 minutes past our reservation time. They did bring us fresh chips and queso blanco, that was actually white queso. However, the entire restaurant seemed understaffed. Our waiter was very nice and apologetic, but was pretty scarce due to being over-seated. Overall, the food was sub par, nothing special. The only person to apologize through the entire experience was our waiter, which none of it was his fault. The hostesses and the manager, Jeremy Sockwell, were all completely rude the whole time. If Jeremy had handled the situation professionally, like any manager should, he would have owned up to his mistake of not booking my reservation, apologized, and asked me to hold on a few minutes to see what he can do to remedy the situation. I will give this place another try due to the amazing view and atmosphere on the patio, but my expectations are very low.

The food and atmosphere was great! Can't wait for another outing at Lago del Pino

First time here and the experience was horrible. Won t be back. Wait staff was slow and 1/2 the orders were wrong.

Beautiful establishment. Good service and good variety off traditional Mexican dishes (chilaqiles) prices are about $15 to $20 per plate but you get what you pay for.
