La Vielle Cheminee Review

I stayed there from Friday 22 June 2018 to Sunday 24 June 2018 with 4 other guests. We had booked the 'Campement' that has 2 double bed rooms with en suite a twin bed room.
As there is a kitchen in the cottage you may decide to cook your own, but you may also order local food which is affordable.
It is situated in the mountain of Chamarel and is very secluded.
Although there are a few more cottages you do not see the other visitors at all except for the very caring cleaning and catering staff.
The place is great if you want to get away from the city and noise.
If you are fond of horse riding, they have a few horses there and those who prefer hiking there are a few marked tracks that would pleased the beginner as well as the expert.
If you are visiting in winter they would provide fire wood for the chimney.
I shall definitely go back there

if you love nature, mountains and the proximity to a lot of nature related sights - it is just PERFECT , we loved our stay, unfortunately only for 2 nights but we'll come back - THANKS to all it was great , Doris ... PS: climb PITON CANOT from ebony forest its a MUST :D

Great hideout in the west of maurice!
Just about when you think you are lost and are looking for a spot to turn around, you see an old chimney (one of those remainings of the times when everybody produced rum) on the left side of the road. After an plantage-vibe road up you are directed to the parking with nice sign. A receptionist immediately came to welcome us, with coffee and all. If you are into horses: this is your place! But also if you fancy a hike: there are several walks around the property that differ from 30-90mins walk and are all have clear signs for directions.

We stayed in one of the cottages. Though we were caught by surpise, these are completely equipped. Theres everything you need in the kitchen and even a barbeque. So stop at la gaulette shopping center before you ascend to chamerel for some groceries. And you can also buy some veggies at la vieille cheminees garden, but its not cheap and the gardener leaves early so tell the receptionist you would like to get some in the morning. Breakfast is very cute: it is served in a basket on your porch every morning. Nights are perfect: just cuddle up with a book in front of the fireplace on your porch. Wood is provided by la vieille cheminee. Relax. Enjoy the Magic.

Top. This view, this peace, this simplicity. In the middle of nature, we only heard birds and the wind. Everything was prepared. No 5 Haus but comfortable and around well.
