Check in is a complete disaster at this hotel, are guaranteed check in was 4pm. With no room available after paying a for a suite level room! So if you book at la Cantera, expect them to not have a room ready for you and to not be able to do anything about it.

Course was recently redone. Greens are overly firm but roll well. Outside of the golf course the resort is very disappointing. Without a doubt, time and money is better spent at the JW

It was nice when we got here. We live in town but it was my husbands birthday. But when we woke up there was NO hot water on. 39 degree day. Bummer that we have to go home to get a free hot shower...

I did not stay the hotel, but went for a social event. I love the pool setup and how they have separate kid focused and adults only pools. Every time I have eaten there whether it was poolside snacks or a sit-down meal, it has been excellent. Some of the best hotel dining I've ever had.

It's a great resort with a beautiful city view from hill station.

My family and I stayed at the La Cantera resort a few weekends ago. All the renovations were mostly completed and looked great. The pools were nicely done and the ambiance was fantastic. However, for the price per night of stay, my expectations go up when you call this place a RESORT destination. This place caters to kids not real well. What I mean by this, is the creativity or lack there of from the Resort. Please offer kids drinks out by the pool and please......come up with some better food offerings for the kids! And, if you read some of the other reports, yesssssss the "Queen" beds are smaller than double size beds. Not real comfortable at all.

They did reach out to me via e-mail and asked to speak with me and I simply replied with a very similar e-mail. And, I also stated I was coming back through in the next few days and was still up in the air about where I should stay for a night or two. You would have thought someone would have picked up a phone or e-mailed back stating "Sure we would love to have you!"....Nope
Hyatt Hillcountry is booked I noticed, but not you guys.

All in all very well done on the renovations and the staff was very friendly, but when I invest this much in a resort I expect more...not the moon, just more. By the way, everything I just mentioned takes nothing more than a few alterations to adjust and not any money. Enjoy...

Was there for a company Christmas party, it was awesome.

Started with an early massage, soaked in salt water, cleansed pores in steam room, showered with salt scrub, relaxed in sauna, showered and the whole nine yards in a facility that has everything you could possibly need (they thought of everything)... totally worth a try. I will be back!

Super nice, but 1 ply toilet paper? come on?! lol. that said this place is amazing.

This is a very nice Westin. I used to take my kids there and let them go to the kids club. It was reasonably price for me and you got 4 hours of freedom without the kids. The kids were given dinner and a little bag with lots of goodies in it. the pools there are very spacious and beautiful. They have valet parking that will take your car and park it for you. You can always find deals especially if you are a USAA customer. You can get packages that includes room and golf or rooms and Six Flags discounts. For everything that is offered there, I believe the price is worth it. I've even taken my sister her husband and the kids there when they visit it from North Carolina. It's a great place and the shops at La Cantera are closed. I love how you can look out a window and see Six Flags across the street also. For those that love to golf they also have that there.

I really recommend this place, rooms, service, food, staff and spa are fantastic.

Valet parking SUCKS!!!!!!
They take such a long time bringing out my car. When I ask them while after waiting, all they say is it is on the way. And now I just realized they took out m&m character from my key chain. It is a brand new and they took my M&M. You should be very shamed!!!!!!

This hotel is beautiful. We had top notch service the entire conference. There are very nice pools and the water falls. the fire pits are very nice on a cool evening. I would definitely come to visit again.

This resort was so fabulous and beautiful. Everyone I encountered showed so much wonderful customer service. The property and views were really breathtaking.

Our experience started with the Valet service. When we arrived, there were at least 5 workers standing around and not one of them came over to open my door. Any other valet we've experienced is completely different. The workers hustle to get to the car and assist the patrons in any way. It was the same when we were ready to leave. They told us on arrival the cost of valet was "$6.00 plus tip". When we were ready to leave, my husband gave them a total of $10. You would think they'd be grateful to get a 65% tip. Not the case at all. The lead person (wearing a different color shirt) was busy driving around on someone's motorcycle. The young kid who got our car pulled it up behind a line of parked cars instead of driving our car up the middle to where we were standing. This young kid then waited at the driver's door instead of coming to the other side of the car to open the ladies door. We went to the restaurant for dinner. They had a barbecue buffet. That was exceptional. We sat at the bar for dinner (something we love to do) and the two bartenders taking care of us were outstanding. They really gave us the resort service we expected and the food was amazing. Then we decided to go down by the pool bar for a final cocktail before leaving. We sat next to a couple who were finishing wings. The bartender Justin never acknowledged us. The bar stool I was sitting on was broken. My husband and I decided to go to the other end of the bar when a young lady from the pool walked up to that end to order drinks. Just then, the couple next to us decided to go inside because they were too warm sitting outside. I changed bar stools with the one next to me and we sat back down. Justin cleaned the dishes off the bar from the couple that was sitting next to us but never looked at us, never said hi, or asked us what we wanted to drink. When he was done clearing the dishes, he went to the young lady and asked what she wanted. Once he got her order, he took our order. We were last to get our drinks. I ordered a Mich Ultra and expected a cold glass to come with the bottle. I had to ask for the glass. I've always believed if you get bad service, you should speak to the person directly so they can learn from the constructive criticism. When I tried to talk to Justin, he became defensive stating "I wanted to clear the dirty dishes". I explained that was fine but while clearing them, you should at least acknowledge us by saying hi and asking us what we wanted to drink. (Multi-tasking is a must in this business). Justin responded by saying "whatever, I don't need to argue with you". My husband and I were appalled. Never did we expect that reaction. I am a professional and use to providing guidance to employees to improve their performance. In no way was I rude or disrespectful. With so many resorts and high end restaurants and bars in San Antonio, it is my opinion the La Cantera employees still need training if they want to compete with the best. Despite the wonderful, wonderful experience we had in the restaurant, we're not sure we'll ever return.

Better than a Vegas hotel in my opinion, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and golf course.

The word of order is rest! An unique and quiet place, perfect for the ones who already know the city of San Antonio, and want a resort to relax and enjoy your family or loved one companies. They have really comfortable rooms, solicitous service and different kinds (and great) of restaurants to eat. Special note for the breakfast buffet...you'll need at least one week to try everything; a must go!
Oh, and the complex has the incredible La Cantera Shops...be prepared to have an amazing shopping experience!

I have to say our stay got off to rough start but the staff were quick to correct the situation and make things better very fast. I'm mostly impressed by the professionalism and the promet attention of the staff and I mean every single one genuinely cares. Our entire family enjoyed our time there together. Will be back around the holidays. Thanks for being so kind and attentive.

Amazing hotel with stunning views. Pool is nice and there is a great variety of fire pits at night! Food service slow, but food is good if not a little expensive

For my money there is no more picturesque course to play golf in a hill country setting than the Palmer course here. The resort is top notch for dining at its fine restaurants, hosting events, such as AlamoACE, relaxing in the spa, or simply taking a nature walk. It is one of the finest places around to take in a round of golf or a hill country sunset.

Gorgeous resort... We're having our wedding here! Can't say enough great things about this place. If you're looking for a spot to host a wedding or function, la cantera is amazing. They don't surcharge for day of week or month of year. And the event coordinators there are super competent and helpful!

Great hotel nestled in the Texas Hill Country!

We spent 4 nights here during spring break and really had a great time. The wife loved the spa here, the kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pools and game area.

We had a Jr. Suite which was really nice as it gave some privacy to the master bedroom but still had a nice sofa bed for the kids.

Great spring break spot and a place we will definitely return to in the future!

Amazing. Pricey, but well worth the money. The staff also responds well to feedback. I had a complaint about one of the restaurants and they apologized and made things right with me. Amazing service!

This facility is an excellent place to attend a conference. The only issue is lack of parking on site. The had a shuttle running from 6 flags for overflow parking.

Beautiful resort and spa. The room was nothing special but the pools restaurants and bars are amazing. The landscaping is beautiful and all the staff is helpful and kind.

The resort is beautiful, the rooms are up to part and the staff is polite and friendly. Also good for hosting conferences.

Absolutely magical stay. By far the best resort in Texas and I've stayed at nearly all of them. Robert Lothian and his team put together a wonderful event without missing a detail. I highly recommend calling them for corporate or wedding events - (I'm pushing Nissan North America to put their next conference here) Impressive!

We have stayed in the regular rooms, and Seventh rooms...and used the spa on several occasions. Love this place. Great staff and wonderful amenities.

Our family recently stayed at the La Cantera resort, and it was amazing. Definitely one of our top places to stay in south Texas We absolutely love the amenities.
Unfortunately, as we were leaving to head home, I noticed that my concealed weapon was missing from a locked compartment inside my vehicle. The vehicle had been parked in valet for our entire stay. We notified the SA police, filed a report and I was told that security would be looking over the video surveillance footage. SA police informed me that the valet was a subcontracted service by the resort. All of the communication to the resort and the valet has been initiated by me. I have contacted them on several occasions since the incident. I have asked to speak with the general manager of the resort on two occasions. After speaking with the GM assistant, a security official contacted me instead.
My concerns are 1) that a weapon was stolen from a secured area. 2) the lack of communication from the resort and valet personnel 3) the valet misinformed us on security practices 4) the resorts' lack of accountability and the lack of accountability of their subcontractors.
Once again, we LOVE this resort, but greatly disappointed on how this situation was handled. We have stayed on numerous occasions and have always felt safe and secure. Now I am concerned about the resorts subcontractors and their security practices.

An amazing place to relax. Multiple pools, family friendly and isolated enough to feel like a real Hill country getaway.

Nice resort. The pools are great especially the adult pool. Food is ok. Keep your room AC on because it gets hot outside.

Spa great, husband says golf facility fantastic BUT view out my window is a crane. Hotel no where near capacity and this is how they plan. Also repaving parking, have to park down the hill, NO sidewalks and lack of lights to walk back and almost run over by valet parking cars.

Excellent views and comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly and the meeting rooms have been great. Only complaint is the food isn't that great.

Beautiful hotel and really helpful/ friendly staff. My room was immaculate each day, the shuttle drivers were super friendly and accommodating. The grounds and lobby had a lot of seating and it was nice to relax and enjoy the view. The sweet fire restaurant was really good, a little pricey but delicious food and great wait staff.
