Your paying CA taxes might as well reap the benefits with the amazing views. Food is very good, service is very good to excellent but the view and ambience are amazing.

Booked a room for a business trip. Was forced to cancel due to the death of someone that needed to be involved in the meeting. Since their cancellation policy was 7 days, I was out of luck for a refund since it was 4 days until the stay. I asked them if they would please hold my deposit as a credit for future use, as I was absolutely going to need the room again. They told me they could due to the circumstances.

I went to rebook the room and got lucky and spoke to the same woman that I cancelled with, and was told that she never told me they could retain the deposit for a future use and even if they had agreed to it (it would have required a supervisor's approval), it would have needed to be used before the close of the year.

This was ridiculous. One would expect a bit more customer service at a resort such as this. I will never stay here and will tell everyone I know to avoid it at all cost.

This is the greatest hotel in Del Mar. Every employee treats their guests with the utmost care and service. I wish I could live in one of their rooms. Such a beautiful setting, and world class guest service. I hope to return many more times.

Good place to stay. No ocean view rooms, ones that are called ocean view are tree view. only ocean view is on their screen above reception from a live camera

Wow. What a fantastic place. I felt like I was home almost! And location? Not sure I d stay anywhere else. We didn t eat there but drank in the bar and it really was enjoyable. The valet crew? Holy cow....other hotels should take note. These guys were so processional, so quick, and so nice !

I was incredibly shocked and terribly disappointed to have such a miserable Thanksgiving dining experience at Kitchen 1540. I made the mistake of assuming L'Auberge would offer a fine dining experience in its restaurant. Instead, my family discovered a food and beverage experience far inferior. Everything about it was poorly executed, as if the organization is lacking a professional restaurant manager.

The Restaurant made us wait 35 minutes to be seated for our 4pm reservation. We waited again twice as long after ordering to receive our meal. We had to ask for bread and butter to be brought to our table. And, the glass gas lamp center pieces on every table looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a month.

If the food had tasted spectacular, some of these problems would have been tolerable, however the Holiday menu only featured four options that should have been better tasting and more quickly prepared. If the Hotel is as poorly managed as this restaurant, it's future is doomed!

Wonderful, quaint seaside hotel. Staff very hospitable. Restaurant wonderful. Just had the most relaxing time. Of course So. Cal weather in fall is hard to beat. The location is nice with tons of other restaurants and shops within a quick walk. It s an older facility but very well kept and updated.

Great restaurant, view and ambience. It is a must try for a date.

Mine and my wife's stay (10/21/17 - 10/23/17) was a FIVE STAR experience. We were accommodated by Alissa with perfect hospitality. Once she learned that we would be visiting with our 9 month old, she went above and beyond in reserving us a room that would be suitable for our family. A crib was provided, the room was perfect, and our stay was incredible. We walked to the avenue and shopped, had drinks in the foyer, dined each night, enjoyed the parks within walking distance of the hotel, and strolled the beach twice. Hard for me to think of a more ideal experience. Thanks Alisa!

Outstanding lunch. I had oysters on the half shell and a Cobb salad. The service and quality was superb.

This is our second stay at L'Auberge and we will no doubt be back again. The hotel is simply beautiful and the staff friendly and accommodating. The town of Del Mar is unique in its serenity.

I used to be a florist who worked behind the scenes at this hotel quite often. And as someone who saw the back side of hotels all the time you get to see what really goes on. This hotel has amazing staff from the back of house to the front. The management is also wonderful! It has such a happy feel all the way around. I highly recommend staying here if you ever get the chance!! It is an amazing hotel :)

Lovely hotel. They pay attention to detail and have very hardworking staff. Very comfortable rooms with outdoor space and awesome beds. Updated and clean hotel. Great location and easy walk to great restaurants. Views are amazing.

Rooms are reasonable. But the position of rooms were away from the beach. Corridors had but if an odor. Swimming pool is a bit small and rooms are very pricey - at least for what you get!

Nice place for appetizers on the patio. The entrees were pricey. Great view.

An ideal location for the Del Mar Race track and their Race track party is epic. However, their prices are ridiculously high. I ordered a beer and Chips w/Guacamole and the price was $29. The view is great, but you will pay a hefty price for it.

Lauberge villas are pure luxury. We love the location right near the beach and we think the staff are unparalleled in efficiency and professionalism!

I like how they never poke into your space or remind you to order drinks or food every ither minute. The staff just lets you have best time Walking around and experiencing the beauty of the place inside and the sunset.
Our drinks were great too...$$ reasonable.

This hotel was so beautiful and the staff were amazing. Even though it was right along a busy street, it was like you were in your own slice of peace and tranquility. Enjoy!

The views are incredible! the staff is friendly. The spa is incredible therapist there are very skilled and the food is lovely in the restaurant.
For being in Delmar it is as elegant as it is friendly without being pretentious unnecessarily.
Overall I would say one of the best places I've ever visited and one of my favorite spots.

Nice rooms. Ideal location with beautiful ocean views from the patio area outside. Retains a nice nautical feel. Bar area and selection is nice. Good for a romantic get away and company functions. Will be staying here again in the future.

L'Auberge is a very trendy and upscale boutique hotel. It's got a great view, decor, and staff. I highly recommend it to stay or have a wedding at. I always love DJing here. Check it out for your next wedding or event!

The night manager is very friendly and helpful. Also it's a great spot to sit and see sunset.

L'auberge is the Gran Hotel de del Mar. It has a perfect pool, incredible ocean view and is close to the beach and restaurants. My parents are left there every year because they love it.

Some good, more bad to say about our experience here. Sad to be so disappointed by this hotel. Best positive aspect? Hotel staff were very friendly and professional.

Negatives? So many! You can decide which ones matter most to you.

--Rooms are very small.
--Bathrooms don't have bathtubs. I was sad to discover this when I arrived because I was looking forward to a nice relaxing vacation bath.
--Hallways have a dirty nasty smell.
--Guest Elevator is small, old, dirty, smelly, and very banged up.
--Guest Elevator is used by hotel staff. Used by the maids, room service, catering staff. Used nonstop. Horrible.
--Lobby bar and restaurant have very limited food menus.
--Very few good views for the hotel rooms. Most rooms look out onto parking lots and the road.
--Thin walls between the rooms and hallway. can hear people often.
--Asked for late checkout, was told that I would be charged $50 for an extra hour!!
--Asked for a quiet room, was given a room next to valet parking. Bellman told me our room was notoriously loud.
--No self-parking and they charge $39/day for guest parking!

Sadly, we won't be back.

Beautiful beach view with the best drinks I have ever had at a hotel!

L'Auberge Del Mar is amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was perfect with an incredible view of the ocean. Food and drinks were great. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the beach.

Great dinner meal. Excellent kitchen staff and chefs!

Was here for a corporate event. The valet left my colleague's car in neutral and it rolled into another car. They promised to take care of it, but it seems like a headache. Otherwise a great place to hold a meeting.

Amazing cocktails at the coastline restaurant. well ventilated eating space, which is open to the public, Treat yourself and visit L'auberge Del Mar.

Good Intial impression but walking the property we see the Jacuzzi is green, fitness center closed, pool deck surface is very tired. We had drinks at 5:00 at the pool reading 1/2 price Happy Hour 4 to 6 on the promotional displays, but the bar tender presented the bill and informed us they dont honor the happy hour they promote. Free coffee in the morning is now $4, a class of coke mostly ice is $7
The property and its ambience has fallen into major dis-repair. Sad it could be such a great place. 2 stars and it should be 5 plus.

I went to the spa and it was a great experience. Crystal at the front desk was amazing and very helpful. I spoke with the manager Leah and she was very nice and knowledgable about the services and products. There is a sauna and stram room in the lockers and the place was very clean and upscale.

Feels like a retreat, with a beautiful view of the Pacific. Wonderful spa, and pool area. Definitely will be back again when on vacation, not work.

All in all the hotel is not worth the money.
The building is rather old-fashioned and the hallways smell. The staff is only partially friendly, which is rather unusual by American standards. Somehow you have the feeling of not enjoying the top priority as a tourist, as various buffets, meetings or weddings are held for locals every day.

We purchased a Villa there on the top level in back looking over the ocean. We absolutely love it. The villa, the views, the area, the upkeep and service, as well as the L'Auberge hotel and amenities are all fabulous. We sat on the balcony every night looking at the ocean and watching the sunset and walked along the ocean every morning. Just spectacular.

We love staying here. It's close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The amenities are great and staff friendly.

Not a good place for relaxation and quiet - rooms with a view are facing a loud pool. Also, we got sick from the omelette for breakfast. :/

A classic hotel in downtown Del Mar. Close to the ocean and great restaurants. We had a problem at check in but Mr Cryer and his staff were quick to remedy the issue.
The rooms are spacious and amenities like soaps and robes are really nice. Great bed and large bathroom. All very luxurious. We booked the Beach and Breakfast package and had a superb breakfast. This is a very special property on every level and incredibly well managed !
