It was absolutely freezing in the casino and I am not a cold natured person. Also, would have been nice to know we lost all of our credits (food and play points) at the end of the year. Took 30 minutes to get a drink sitting at the video poker bar. Buffet was good.

I had a wonderful time at L'Auberge casino. The staff was very friendly. I went on a tuesday/Wednesday and it was not crowded and I was easily able to find $5 games, even though it was Mardi gras/Valentine's. They currently allow smoking, but I hear this will change in the Summer of 2018.

The cocktail waitress came by the table games fairly regularly and even apologized and quickly made me a new drink when a man lied and stole my drink. I appreciated the humor on the cocktail napkins.

There are several restaurants. The buffet was having a seafood special and the line was over 35 minutes to get in. The steak house is small. It was mostly empty when I went and I waited several minutes at the bar for a menu. Several bartenders looked at me, but none said a word or came over to help me so I left slightly disappointed. There is also PJs that has coffee, snacks and gelato. And the final place is a sports bar type restaurant. There is a small menu of bar food, salads, sandwiches/burgers and couple fish dishes. The chopped salad was light but filling.

Depending on casino play, you may earn a voucher for a free buffet or $30 off at the sport bar restaurant which is good for food (not alcohol).

This casino is very clean and classy. The rooms are nice as well but only have showers. They are nice huge marble showers though. If your looking for a relaxing bath then you must get a suite. The suite is amazing. Huge marble bath tub with separate grand shower and lots of mirrors. Great for that special occasion.

The hotel because of the bed is horrible, if i could give it a -5 star I would. I think the mattress in my room is older than I am., JK, but really how can you have a hotel and have the worst beds in the world, they are lower than a chair, no support, and did i say old. i should have stayed at the best western at least they have better beds.

My review is customer service based. The hotel it self is pretty, not the same caliber of the Lake Charles location unfortunately due to location. From the moment I arrived the service has been sub par. The valet service personnel wasn't anywhere to be found. We waited about ten minutes for assistance no one ever came out. I urgently needed to use the ladies room so I parked( still awaiting valet) and entered the casino side. That was poor customer experience #1. Upon my entry I saw a employee of the hotel cleaning. I asked where the restrooms where located, she ignored me. I assumed maybe she didn't hear me, so I asked again louder. She just waved her hand in a non specific manner. I repeated my question in Spanish just in cause there was a language barrier, same response. This was poor customer experience #2. I handled my business messing up my clothes in the process, unfortunately. Went back out side still no valet, my mother who was waiting in the car assured me Noone had even came out. So we call for assistance, and are told valet is closed, that's all no further assistance. My mother is disabled, she cannot walk long distances, nor can she assist me with luggage. Thats why valet is so important for us. So we check in Mr. Al was very engaged and informative i truly appreciated his assistance. No bell hop was available so I carried pur bags up on a bell hop trolly with instructions to leave it in the hall as they only have one. We had a requested room with a view of the river. The view is not great at all. So after all these things, I reached out to a supervisor named Brian. He left much to be desired, i wasn't requesting anything from him, but his tone and wording made it seems as if I should just accept sub par quality service, because of Covid 19. I work in customer service as a supervisor, so I do understand that there are shortages in the work force, I understand that things may take longer. I truly tried to be kind and understanding, however poor customer service is still poor customer service. Paraphrasing his response," There is only one person for valet, this is only view there is what do you want me to do". For me a simply apology would have been sufficient. Instead when I said valet wasn't present, his answer "I can see him now, he is there now". No empathy, no care for the customer. Also we needed to extend our stay for an additional night. We were told at the checkin desk that we went through a 3rd party and needed to contact them to extend our stay. When we called the 3rd party, they called L'auberge to extend and were told that we need to come down stairs to book our additional night. The amount of misdirection, misinformation, and poor customer service is astounding. This is not a luxurious establishment, this is not the caliber of service they are supposed to known for.

We stayed at this hotel for my birthday, and were very pleased with everything from valet to casino workers. The food was excellent, service top-notch, drinks on point and the comfort level was amazing. I had a bottle of champagne and a small red velvet cake waiting for me when we entered the room. The TV in the mirrors were a great touch and views were amazing! The outdoor areas of the casino were beautiful and peaceful.

Beautiful hotel, comfy beds and great amenities. However, horrible service across the board. The check in clerks are always too busy and clueless. The restaurant servers and bartenders don't acknowledge you unless you signal them. There are numerous almost done touches from an upkeep perspective. Finally, they started a LOUD room refurbishment above my room today at 9 am during a holiday week. Seriously great potential, however they need to completely revamp the hotel management and service staff to make it legit. (This was my 4th time staying here and may be my last.)

The structure is beautiful and clean, there aren't used cups every where and (even as a smoker) the lack of cigarette smoke is highly enjoyable. Unfortunately, there was maybe two toilets out of 12 or more that had been flushed, the drinks were par for course with any other run of the mill casino (barely potable), and the food must have come from recipes before salt. Oh well, I got to spend time with a good friend.

Nice atmosphere! I don't gamble often, if ever, yet the customer service is still grand. Buffet rivals many southern restaurants and seafood night is my favorite! The rooms are pretty awesome too!

Good place to gamble. UPDATE: I recently went to gamble here and both times I had to point out the restrooms. Traveling 4-5 hours, I often use the restroom before going into the casino. What a NASTY place! I requested security to call someone to clean it. My next visit, again NASTY restrooms. Inside the casino by the little bar that serves food, I went into the restroom and an employee was opening each stall door. The area was trashed, toilets filled with nasty things. She never attempted to flush them or pick up toilet paper. I asked her if she cleaned the restrooms and she said yes. This worker walked out of the area. When washing my hands, I seen a sheet of paper for initials when cleaning. It was 4 hours since the last employee put initials on the sheet. Do not expect anything to be clean in the restroom! The location in Lake Charles has nice restrooms, which you will always see someone cleaning and checking them.

***Edit: I posted this when driving cross country. 6 months later I returned and realized my mistake, but forgot about the review: I wasn't aware there was a L'Auberge in Baton Rouge AND Lake Charles so I thought the differences were due to the construction/ remodel that Lake Charles had the previous time I'd been.

Facility: I really liked the "Pirate Ship" look that L'Auberge Lake Charles has going for it but this location's open, natural lighting is great.

Food: I actually ended up not eating here despite the fact that it was the reason I stopped. I wanted to eat at the Asian Fusion place that is at Lake Charles and I couldn''t find it or anything else that I wanted instead.

Casino: I went through the casino to check out the floor and I'm not impressed. Lake Charles has more live gaming from what I saw and despite the significant increase in slots most of what I was looking at were 3 or 5 line games. I don't like those (even if they do cost less to max bid), so I probably won't make any special trips over.

My stay was fun until the cleaning lady decided to wake everyone up at 7am to clean a work next to us and turned up the tv up so loud. I literally thought it was the tv in the bathroom. She did it 2 nights in a row, I got no sleep at all. The pool was very relaxing until I found out that it closes at 8pm! We pay all this money to stay but it seemed like everything closes so early except the casino. The employees are so mean especially in the casino, they kept snatching my drivers license out of my hand then said my picture didn t match, no one served me drinks at all, and when I finally found a bartender she acted liked she didn t want to serve me. L Auberge is to expensive for the employees to act that way towards customers. I definitely see why people go to the one in Lake Charles.

We attended the L'auberge Rooftop Pool party that they started on Friday nights and had a great time. The pool area is beautiful and the DJ was awesome. There is a cover charge for the pool party, but you get a ticket for a free drink at Edge bar inside the casino so it is definitely worth it.
