It is a small zoo small compared to Everland Safari or Seoul National University Zoo. It took me less than an hour to look around. I was so excited to see him disappointed. It is advantageous to be able to see animals at close range, but we did not come to such a big impression as we often go to zoos. But the orangutan was really amazing. I've never actually seen it.

The site area is not so large, but there are quite a lot of animals and you can enjoy it enough! There are also core animals such as frogs and bats, and I was very excited to love them! The entrance fee is 600 yen for adults, which is very reasonable. The admission fee is 100 yen for students who attend a university designated by enrolling in Kyoto City Campus Cultural Partners. Very good value!

Nevertheless, the kids' Ferris wheel which I got in kindergarten was still alive and it is amazing! A

I went with my 1 year old on Friday afternoon. People were sparse and I enjoyed it slowly. It's a compact zoo, so it's just the right size for families with children. It is interesting to see the giraffe up close from above.
Most major animals are said, but lions living in herds are not against policy. There is no kangaroo either.

It changed quite a lot. sad. I am more memory-prone than ordinary children, and often people are surprised to be surprised. Certainly normal if you do not remember, there are many animals like going with my family and going around with my family many times, and flamingos were really beautiful from that time.
Something of everything has changed.
I also like statues, if it is not a mistake
I think that it is here. Absolutely different

You can also ride small children
There should have been a vehicle.
Is not there Imabari-shi? It's a different place.

A place where zoos, plazas and mini - amusement parks merged.
I can play with my family one day.
There is a restaurant inside.
Adults are 600 yen per person, and they can re-enter during the day.

When going by car, parking fee will be over 2,000 yen, so be careful when staying for a long time.

I am not a zoo person. But the fact is this place open up free for children and charges only a token for the adults made me realized what the government had done in simulating a immersive experience for the local and the tourists in spending family bonding time together. The exhibition are not any lower standard than the best in the world but yet kept simple and low cost but yet the experience of building family bonds with Gorillas and gloriously black panther over the winter chill and the nice surrounding ambience added to the attractions that money simply can't buy. I'm a city person but kyoto convinced me that the suburbs can be truly relaxing without being pretentious

Little bit on the small side and the animals seemed crammed into cages. We saw every animal in the park plus a few feedings in about 2.5 hours. Great value though at 600 yen. If you have the subway day pass they discount it to 500 yen.

We spent a few hours here in april filled with the colours of spring, my only complaint is the bear stayed in his cave the whole time. Zoo is a smaller zoo, would have liked to see pandas or koalas.

I went after being beautifully renewed.

I think that tall giraffes can also be overlooked from the second floor and people with small children can also see giraffes nearby.

There are a lot of gorilla, baby is born recently and I look forward to future growth.

Because there is no slope and barrier-free on the whole, I think that strollers and wheelchairs can be entered easily.

From Keihan Sanjo Station, about 20 minutes on foot by Google Navi.

I couldn't take the picture well, but it seems that the giraffe here has a child with a heart pattern on their hind legs.

Since it was a weekday, there were few people and I could look around slowly.

There are many zookeepers on a large scale, and children can enjoy it with peace of mind.

It was a lot of fun, as there were places to interact with goats and sheep.

Although I visited for the first time after the renewal, I enjoyed it very much for a low price.
Costa is good if you are a junior high school student or less because it is free so if you have a small child.
However, there are no parking lots at the zoo when you go by car, so you will be parked in the nearby parking lot.
Parking is a little expensive setting, so it is recommended to go by train or bus.

Since it is a municipal zoo, the entrance fee is cheap, and it is very easy to use because it is relatively close to the subway station.
It was renewed a few years ago and has become cleaner overall, but it feels good to retain the atmosphere of the Showa era.
The tigers walking in the aerial passage are spectacular.

I have been there for the first time in several years.
It has been beautifully renovated and feels like a modern zoo. In some places, I am happy that there are still old parts that revives memories of my childhood.

Kyoto's largest zoo.

Kyoto's largest zoo.
Although it is not large, it is an old-fashioned zoo, but you can see a whole range of animals.
Depending on the time, there will also be a hands-on experience meeting with small animals such as rabbits.
This zoo is where many of the children who grow up in Kyoto come to visit several times.

I found Japanese culture with great moral and respect, but when I saw the Kyoto Zoo I got suprised that nowadays we have such zoo! Keeping animals in such tiny places for human to jus visit them! Brutal!

The site is large and there are many green, and installation of mist shower and an exhibition room with air conditioning etc. have also been devised. However, since there is little shade, a sunshade with a parasol or hat is necessary in summer. Most of the animals were just sleeping. Spring and autumn may be recommended.

It is a zoo in Okazaki Hoshoji Town, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto.
I visited on a family trip.
There were plenty of exhibits including elephant forest, another world, African grassland, Hikari / Mizu / Green Tropical Zoo.
The ecological exhibition of the elephant forest was good.

I am not a big fan of zoos in general; I always feel the animals deserve more space and a more natural environment. The Kyoto City Zoo is no exception. Some of the exhibits, such as the gorillas and the chimpanzees, are quite good. The animals are in a fairly comfortable environment and yet easy to see. Other exhibits, such as the big cats and the Japanese macaques were just depressing. Overall, it is a clean and well-managed facility, but that is just par for the course in Japan.

While the entrance fee is cheap, all the animals have Incredibly small enclosures that left me with a sour taste in my mouth that id given them any money at all. Depressing is the best word to describe this zoo.

Recommended is Snow White Owl. The round body like a volleyball and the head that rotates 360 degrees are very cute. Snowy owls are the same as pandas, and the real ones are much cuteer than the stuffed ones.

The enclosures are waaaaay too small for the animals sadly, a lot of them are showing evident signs of stress (important hair loss, pacing around aimlessly, licking themselves to the skin) and that is heartbreaking to see. Sadly, a lot of families seem to not care much about it since the kids can see kawaii animals. The elephant pen is literally a dirt pit, with two trees the elephants can't interact with because they're surrounded by something like haywire ( don't quote me on this, didn't manage to get close enough to see what it was actually). Overall a truly heartbreaking experience, I'm really, really sorry for the animals living there...

It has been renovated to make it easier to see. When I went on a hot day, I saw an elephant diving in the water. Pool? Is deep and wide.
If you have been in the past, please go there. I think there is nostalgia and new discoveries.

It is open until 17:00.
I came in at 14:00, but I managed to go around without stopping.
It seems that animals will also be withdrawn from around 16:30, and it will not be possible to see unless you enter the park earlier. It was a more fulfilling zoo than I expected.

A small zoo.

A small zoo.
You can see it in a relaxed time. There are go-karts, ferris wheels, and railroads for children to play with. You can buy tables and light meals to eat.
I always buy stuffed animals on my way home (laughs)

I really do not understand how this zoo could have such a good mark, what a shame! Cages are so small, animals have irritated skins and feel depressed.
What do animals associations?!
I was not expecting a such bad experience in Japan, even zoo in less developped countries are tacking care better of their animals...

This is the only zoo in Kyoto and one of the oldest in the country as well. Not very big, but a decent one with several animals to see. There is a restaurant, a gift shop and a mini amusement park with few rides for kids. The best part of this zoo is that that the location is perfect. It's surrounded by Kyoto Modern Art Museum, Rohm Theater, Okazami Park, Heian Shrine. So if you are near by you may drop by, especially if you have kids.

The renovation work up to 2015 made the exhibition much easier to see, and it was reborn as a zoo where children and adults can enjoy it.
However, there are many families with children, and if you bring a lunch box etc., you will not have a place to eat unless you secure a place early.
If that is solved, it is the highest level zoo without complaint.

Renewal opening was completed in 2015.
The beast corner also tickles adult children's minds, but above all, it is hard to throw away the tranquility of the satoyama corner.
The gorilla can also be observed in a gorilla-like place.

It was good to see the giraffe from the deck on the second floor.
The gorilla baby was very cute, there were a lot of elephants, and I touched the rabbit!
I went in the afternoon, but it was a small zoo, so I was able to go around. Nevertheless, I was able to see food feeding, major animals in general, and rare animals. Even the stroller was able to turn around without any problems, and it was good to be able to use the rest room with a cooler for free.
There was no parking lot and I stopped at the coin parking, but it was painful that there was no maximum charge for Saturdays and Sundays.
It s far away, but I m going to go again.
