RIP Kurt, thank you for discovering Metal and Rock...
RIP Kurt, thank you for discovering Metal and Rock in general to me. You are my hero
RIP Kurt, thank you for discovering Metal and Rock in general to me. You are my hero
Such an unsuspecting place for such an icon of music! It was cool to stand underneath the bridge and listen to "Something in the Way" while imagining Kurt being there.
Someone post some pictures.
leave your Art under the bridge please leave something to say you were here
Small and quiet memorial. Huge blackberry bush nearby if you re hungry.
A very peaceful place. The neighbors don't like the traffic, so we only go when no one else is there. And keep it respectful. The inspiration he got from and for From The Banks Of The Muddy Wishkah, is still powerful
For the fans only...! not a lot to see, but it is worth the trip if you really want to walk on Kurt's steps. Don't forget to take a picture of his childhood house just next to it.
The city of Aberdeen should have done better than this, but it's still a must for all Cobain fans. Nice place to remember this man that made the world a better place.
I brought a band that I took a long time to make and also grew up with kurt around me all the time it's very sad to say that the police came through and shut our concert down.
Very depressing aura. Wish it was taken care of better (very dirty be careful of where you step and wear old shoes), plus that it wasn't so invasive of those who live around it. He definitely deserves a better memory, but I guess this town never cared for him, or vice versa. It was still worth it, very cool to see the fans graffiti and to see where he spent a good portion of his youth.
Park was small, but Awesome. A Great Tribute for Kurt. A beautiful place & scenery!! R.I.P. Kurt Cobain!!
Nice to see the town maintains this site. Very beautiful in it's own way.
Aberdeen is a small town but still retains that Grunge air of the 90s. The site has memorsbimia from Kurt's teenage years but there are also vagabonds and junkies in the area which makes the atmosphere even more real to what it will have been in the time that Kurt lived under the bridge. I loved knowing that in the river they threw a third of the ashes of Kurt
The biggest fan from Poland Jesus, those emotions that surrounded me when I was there cobain always in our hearts
I love this tiny park in remembrance of one of grunge rocks all time greats!! R.I.P. Kurt!!
I got high here for the first time in over three years. This picturesque, grungy teen hangout spot brought it outa me.
Not much to look at unless you're a die hard Nirvana/Kurt Cobain fan like me.
I bought a shotgun and almost killed myself at that same time that Kurt successfully killed himself using that very same method. I was going to write "So Jealous!!" on the graffiti under the bridge but that would be illegal. It was a beautiful day that I visited here during the summer, one that the sun actually shone and the weather was nice and warm for once instead of rain and grey doom- and I'm still not a junkie who needs their fix just to get through the day- so I really can't complain and be too jealous right?
Will not lie my friends n I used to go have some drinks and chill around campfires under this bridge a few years back. Peaceful place to relax.
I went to the Memorial for Kurt because I absolutely adore him and I can't believe how awesome this is
This is a nice little road-trip stop. A must-see for Nirvana fans in the area
Really cool spot. No specified parking so you have to park on the street and walk. Don't miss the little spot under the bridge!!
A legend. To be able to sit and ponder where Kurt Cobain himself once sat and pondered lyrics for his music. Thank you Kurt you will always be loved.
The nostalgia of imagining kurt cobain being there along with the echoing of the creek below under the bridge puts a great mental image into your mind.
Quiet and cool little park. Don't plan on swimming.
It's good to have a tribute park to Kurt! Aberdeen needs this!
"Underneath the bridge
The tarp has sprung a leak
And the animals I've trapped
Have all become my pets
And I'm living off of grass"
Very dirty and frankly, disgraceful. Needles and garbage every where. I felt very sad that he was memorialized in this way especially because of his addiction.
Quiet, smaller than expected, not as much trash/needles as I thought. But this area provides a quaint serene sitting area.
It is slippery AF under the bridge. Be careful! Don't harass the folks next door to the park and stay off their property. They had nothing to do with Kurt.
Wanna remember Kurt? Stop glorifying is demon past (Junkie).
Nice memorial done by local artists with much support from the community it seemed.
If you are a Nirvana or Kurt Cobain fan, it's a must. Sadly, there is yet another drug addict under the bridge. Very friendly fellow though.
Cute but small. Not alot room for parking, its at a dead end
Hard to find but need to stop if you are a Kurt fan
I was really glad to find a nice spot to contemplate Kurt Cobain's life. My family took a small road trip to Aberdeen for the Star Wars store but also spent some time on the Kurt Trail. The neighborhood was nice. The park was simple and creative. His childhood home and first rental is within a few blocks. Novoselic's parents' home is across the bridge. There were needles under the bridge, but what else would we expect? An otter swam by as we stood on the muddy bank of the Wishkah.
First time here.. Was excited to see if bit its. Also raining
If you want to know we're Kurt used to stay when he was getting away from his mom
It's a cool little memorial Park! Was just there, but I couldn't get pictures of the graffiti under the bridge! That was a bummer for me because it was flooded!
Finally a proper memorial for the greatest of all, Kurt Cobain
Small memorial, not super well kept. The town itself is very small so we weren t expecting anything grand. It was nice to go to a place in memory of him and we saw otters in the water across the river! The small park area is kept fairly clean but there are some remnants of needle usage under the bridge and it s mud/clay so just be aware of that. His home is nearby, it s not memorialized but still somewhere to stop while you re in the area.
Drove ninety minutes and *almost* turned around when I saw that the only person at the park was tying a hockey stick to his bike. Still, I'd driven all that way so I figured maybe it wouldn't be that bad...but it was. It was that bad. So, I'd give the park six stars if I could (extra star for my new friend Craig!) but I'm limited to just five.
Go for the graffiti. I couldn't name more than a few Nirvana songs, but I appreciate the Grunge subgenre for its cultural influence, and the band for the effect they obviously had on people. Just look at what they have to write about their music.
Man....Being A Huge Die Hard Nirvana Fan And A Huge Fan Of Kurt Cobain And His Amazing Art And Outlook On Things Musically And On Social Politics As Well As Doing Benefit Concert Performances And Hats Off To The People Who Got To See Them Live Including My Older Brother Rob Seeing Nirvana Had To Been A Blast Nirvana Still Rules But Being Underneath The Very Bridge Kurt Would Hang Out After An Argument He Had With His Mother Was Pretty Wild To See Where He Was Comin From And How He Grew Up Pretty Eerie Seeing A Piece Of Cardboard Underneath The Bridge And A Fresh Syringe Right Next To The Cardboard With An Orange Cap On It But Anyway R.I.P Kurt Cobain
It's a statue of a guitar, under a bridge. Go to the end of 2nd St, as Google maps instructions are incorrect and will take you to the top of the bridge. The house next to it has a sign to warn you about the needles on the ground, which I saw several of. Be very careful and don't stab yourself! Honestly, the experience was pretty underwhelming and unless you're a big fan you're probably better off skipping it. The closest thing to a "gift shop" is the Star Wars shop located down the street, which is very crowded and cramped but worth a visit.
It's inspiring to see the place where one of the artists of the generation was born.
I poured out a little Starbucks under the bridge in his memory for his loving of everything corporate.
This is not a house of Kurt Cobain.
Don t even try to knock them...
Kurt Cobain house is so close to this.
But you can find the bridge, where celebrity began his story...
Nice little tribute for Kurt Cobain. Small park with difficult parking
Amazing experience to be able to see his old home as well as hang out under the bridge. RIP
If you're in Aberdeen,Washington you should make the visit.
Small and depressing. I'm glad Aberdeen did something to recognize one of the greatest musicians America's ever produced, but it seems like a small, grudging effort. The whole town is incredibly depressing and barely hanging on, why not create a memorial that might attract positive tourism to boost the place culturally if not economically? Sad.
I felt a somber presence there, yes. But there was something of beauty in that somberness. The neighbors sign had me laughing, but they should be respected and left alone. Wish I could have met Phil.
We passed through on our way back to Seattle from the Quinault rain forest, it was a cool detour but I'd suggest not going alone or wearing open toed shoes since there were needles and broken beer bottles on the ground....
A kind place to stop a moment to reflect. Clean little micro spot of dedication to one of Pacific Northwest s greatest. I m glad we came here. Thanks for the music, Kurt.
Sweet little spot. Neighbor sign a crack up. Keep your eye out for sealife!!
Something of nothing. Worth a visit if you're passing, but don't go out of your way; you probably won't be here for more than 5 minutes.
It's not kept up in anyway...it's a little grungy. It was worth the drive from Seattle as it's interesting to see where he grew up and was inspired to create.
I was surprised when an old friend wanted to go see it. it was not where I expected it to be. I expected a larger park. A couple monuments. Enjoy.
It was a place near his childhood home. Although, it speaks to his lowkey loving nature, it hardly seems worthy of a man who changed the face of music. Please be courteous of the people who live nearby!
Pretty cool to see. It was muddy when I went so I disnt stay lo g.
