About Kurs
Kurs - Empowering Workers in Culture, Art, and Education
Kurs is a Serbian-based company that was founded in 2010 with the aim of addressing the issues faced by workers in culture, art, and education. The company has since grown to become a leading voice for these groups of people who often face unique challenges in their respective fields.
At Kurs, we believe that everyone deserves to work in an environment that is safe, fair, and conducive to their personal growth. We understand that workers in culture, art, and education are often undervalued and underpaid despite the significant contributions they make to society.
Our mission at Kurs is to empower these workers by providing them with the necessary tools and resources they need to succeed. We do this through various initiatives such as advocacy campaigns aimed at raising awareness about their plight.
One of our core areas of focus is on addressing the problems faced by artists. We understand that artists are often forced to work under precarious conditions without access to basic social security benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans. This can lead to burnout or even worse - financial ruin.
To address this issue head-on, we have developed several programs aimed at providing artists with access to affordable healthcare services as well as financial planning tools designed specifically for them. Our goal is not only to help artists survive but also thrive so they can continue creating meaningful works of art for generations to come.
Another area where we have made significant strides is in advocating for better working conditions for students. As many students know all too well - juggling schoolwork while trying to make ends meet can be incredibly challenging. At Kurs, we believe that no student should have to choose between getting an education or earning a living wage.
To this end, we have partnered with several universities across Serbia on initiatives aimed at improving working conditions for students who work part-time jobs while studying full-time courses. These initiatives include lobbying university administrators to provide better pay and benefits for student workers as well as providing them with access to financial planning tools.
Finally, we also work closely with workers in the cultural sector. We understand that these workers often face unique challenges such as censorship or lack of funding. To address these issues, we have developed several programs aimed at providing them with access to legal resources and advocacy campaigns designed to raise awareness about their plight.
In conclusion, Kurs is a company that is dedicated to empowering workers in culture, art, and education. We believe that everyone deserves a fair shot at success regardless of their background or circumstances. Through our various initiatives and programs, we are working towards creating a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
