Beautiful venue. As a visitor from the UK I really enjoyed watching a ballet here it was a comfortable enjoyable experience and well worth checking if there is anything you're interested in on your visit to Stockholm.

The Stockholm Operahouse gives you an authentic feeling of 1780 when it was opened by King Gustaf III. The interior red velvet and the massiv chandeliers from the vaulted ceiling defect the golcovered decorations of the barock styled balconies. The plays are both classic and modern with light effects and other techniques. The ballet dancers when performing seem like they never touch the floor. The Swan lake was unforgettable. Elegant.

The Royal Opera in Stockholm is a must for visitors of Sweden. Not big but absolutely beautiful inside. It is easy to find your seat (not like in big opera houses), enough time to drink champain in the Golden hall or on the balconies with beautiful views. What opera or ballet to prefer? It is really up to your taste.

Because of messy weather, he does not get into the salon on time. Sadly we were very well treated by the thoughtful staff, were offered to see the first act on display in the restaurant along with nice company, which was not even in time. After a glass of wine and first class service of the staff we could enjoy a magic other act of Rigoletto. Thanks!

Beautifully. Great performances. Unfortunately under-sized. During the break you can hardly buy a cava if you have not pre-ordered food and even then it is crowded. Hard nut to crack as I gladly see that it is not broken.

One of the world's most beautiful operas with a fascinating repertoire. Not only opera, but also ballet and modern dance. Don't miss the exciting guided tour, here Gustav is managed by the third of conspirators. The spirit, of course, remains in the building.

This is only a description of the facilities, not of the artistic.
Seats have less legroom than Ryan Air, especially in the balcony and upwards, which gives a claustrophobic experience. In addition, the serving of the break reminds us of something from the 1970s, with old ones taking thermocaffeine into a fortune.
Primarily odd that tickets over the net can not be bought with the VISA debit. Most of the rest of Europe and Sweden do not have this discrimination.
That is a redo. On the other hand, extremely friendly staff, which just ensures the second of two stars.

Always great music and singers. Real enjoyment! However, the chairs in the poorer places are very cramped and cause pain in the back. There are two slow little lifts. Everyone else has to go up the stairs. However, it is always fantastic to go to the opera so all it is worth it: D

Beautiful place. Went there for a wedding ceremony and it was the most amazing place for such an occasion. Of course it is a splendid place for an opera as well, but that was not the reason to my latest visit.

Nice place to visit! Beautiful building, fancy decoration and important plays on the Opera House schedule!
But avoid the side seats and go for the central ones, otherwise is not possible to have a great view of the plays! Enjoy!

Classic repertoire that rarely offers surprises. No further acoustics in the room and the sound varies from the extremes stifled to screaming with some good places in the middle of the parquet and on the first balcony, but otherwise it is uneven.

On a short visit to Stockholm I managed to go to one the lunch concerts: An enjoyable light meal and a program of songs by Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937) and Nikolaj Rimskij-Korsakov (1844-1908), sung by Soprano Maria Matyazova Milder and More

The Royal Opera in Stockholm 250 year-old opera house with admiring interior and it Situated right across the bridge towards old town.
The orchestra and the performers are usually of high quality. Worth visiting for both performances as well as enjoying the house in itself.
The restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was not that great.

About Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish opera House

Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish Opera House, is a world-renowned institution that has been entertaining audiences for over 240 years. Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the opera house is not only home to the Royal Swedish Opera but also to the Royal Swedish Ballet, Young at the Opera program, and the Royal Swedish Orchestra. Together they create unforgettable experiences for adults, children and families alike.

The history of Kungliga Operan dates back to 1773 when King Gustav III founded it as a way to bring culture and entertainment to his people. Since then it has become one of Europe's most prestigious opera houses with a rich history of performances by some of the world's greatest artists.

Today Kungliga Operan continues its tradition of excellence by presenting an array of operas and ballets throughout its season. From classic works like Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and Verdi's "La Traviata" to contemporary pieces like Philip Glass' "Satyagraha," there is something for everyone at this iconic venue.

In addition to its mainstage productions, Kungliga Operan offers educational programs through its Young at the Opera initiative. This program provides opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to experience opera firsthand through workshops and performances designed specifically for them.

Another unique aspect of Kungliga Operan is its commitment to sustainability. The opera house has implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing their environmental impact including using renewable energy sources such as wind power and geothermal heating/cooling systems.

But what truly sets Kungliga Operan apart from other opera houses around the world is its stunning architecture. Designed by architect Axel Anderberg in 1898-1905 in neo-classical style with Art Nouveau elements on top floor balconies; it features grand staircases leading up into ornate foyers adorned with crystal chandeliers that lead into opulent auditoriums filled with plush red velvet seats.

Overall, Kungliga Operan offers an unparalleled cultural experience that combines history, artistry and innovation all under one roof. Whether you are a seasoned opera-goer or someone looking for a new cultural adventure - this iconic institution should be on your must-visit list when traveling through Stockholm!
