KUNC – Community Radio for Northern Colorado
KUNC is a community radio station that serves the Northern Colorado region. The station was founded in 2001 and has since become a trusted source of news, information, and entertainment for the local community.
At KUNC, we believe that community radio is an essential part of any thriving community. Our mission is to provide our listeners with high-quality programming that informs, educates, and entertains. We strive to be a voice for the people of Northern Colorado and to promote civic engagement and social responsibility.
Our programming covers a wide range of topics, including local news and events, national news from NPR (National Public Radio), music from various genres such as jazz, blues, folk etc., cultural programs like "Colorado Matters" which explores issues related to arts & culture in Colorado; "The Takeaway" which provides analysis on current events happening around the world; "Morning Edition" which provides daily news updates from across America; "All Things Considered" which offers in-depth reporting on important issues affecting our society today.
We also have several locally produced shows such as “Colorado Edition” where we cover stories about life in Colorado; “The Great American Songbook” where we play classic songs from different eras; “High Plains Morning” where we feature interviews with local artists & musicians etc.
