Visited the plant 2 days back,,, heard so many negative reviews about the plant and feel all such are wrong and some people are spreading false info among people... support India, support nuclear energy for the development of the nation....believe in science...believe in engineers...
Everyone in Tamil Nadu well aware of the price of power crisis and as a banker I know how many families lost their small business units to Banks for foreclosure because of the power shortage. Guys just wake up and support to this great initiation taken by Govt.. Please don't give any room for assumptions about the safety of the plant, which has no base.
Our college around 70 member go there industrial visit high security 5 to 6 checkpost to you go there visit that nuclear power plant the power plant staff member was amazibng good explanation there explained all think the power only thing not shoing reacter good maintained that place i was surprised ever seen the one government office done clean and neately
Nuclear power plant in India which has come under constant pressure from the activists to close it. But remember this is different from the nuclear power plant used Chernobyl or Fukoshima. This generates less power than the Chernobyl. The Chernobyl's total energy produced was 23,000MW, but this produces only 1,000MW of energy. Yes I do agree that radiation is bad but as I can see it is neatly maintained facility.
despite protest of so called "environmentalists" this pollution free nuclear power plant achieved completion! I was so happy. Those protesters should protest coal power plants which has obvious effects on environment. renewable energy is always best but till the time being a nuclear power plant is much better than a coal or oil power plant. thats what I say..
We all know Nuclear is the only source better in CUF, Efficiency, and pollution levels compared to Thermal power plants
Yes Nuclear Power Is Important For A Country Like India To Rise As A Global Power But It Is More Important To Safeguard The Lives Of It's People
All those people who are giving it 1 star just because of Chernobyl misunderstood the reason why Chernobyl happened and took away the wrong "lesson" from it.
The lesson to be learned from Chernobyl isn't that Nuclear Energy is bad, but that not following protocol, lies, corruption and incompetence can lead to disaster. And that you have to be careful with Nuclear power.
With Climate Change happening, the world NEEDS nuclear power along with Wind and Solar and it is stupid to oppose Nuclear Power.
Where were you people when India decided to get Nuclear Weapons?
And now you oppose Nuclear Power which is actually useful and is going to lead to so much Scientific Progress.
If you are concerned then please push for safety, do not oppose nuclear power completely.
It's honour that india is going rapidally to the pick of science and technology
Any point of time atomic energy is not a right solution...
safety 1st, huge losses hapend before can't be gained again, & it is like murder, at same time technology playing nice role, it is needed in safe way, staff's working there are not 1ly staffs but also a protector to our country from both in economic & life
we cant say it is safe government should think the feelings of ordinary people they dont know the process safety level so better stop it tamil nadu will get electricity through this power plant is a wrong theory we can get electricity through sun and other ways. so please stop it radiation will kill people through all generation . better read j prabhakaran's anuvulaiarivhom book tears will fill your eyes dont play with the poor indians life get out all power plant from india please help us if we do so we can live long govrnment please help us it is our kind request
Very very wrost power plant in tamilnadu.....no no no Don,t want in Tamilnadu I am tamilnadu...othe power Sores ok ...very dangerous in indai..
Nuclear Power Plant with very tight Security and systematically maintained Plant
Remember Fukushima blast, still radioactive waste leaks into the Pacific ocean
Atomic power plant to produce electricity at cheaper rate compared to thermal power plants
Went for an Industrial visit from our college with around 50 students..the entry to it had great security checking...we were there for a whole one day and they so clearly explained all the processes... everyone must take a visit to this plant.. awesome construction with perfectly maintained environment!!
No energy and no power and no technological advancement is worth putting the lives of people and their living under risk. People who are praising this power plant by acting like nuclear experts , will you actually dare to have this one in your home town ?? Every life matters.
Nuclear energy cant be the solution at all.If the disaster happen peoples life and it generations will be impacted heavily.India is not the country which has self sufficient enough to handle nuclear disaster and people life recovery .All nations are trying to change from nuclear energy and to alternate methods.koodankulam is situated where people density is very much high .
Great work by the scientists who are behind these power plants.. India needs them badly... We Support Power Plants..
Cudos to scientist and engineers to develop and maintain this Power Marvel. This plant Strictly follows the standards of safety. There is no harm to aquatic animals too.
So much concerned about Nuclear power stations due to their security. Two big catastrophes over 3 decades.
No matter how much sophisticated the plant is no one can save it from natural calamity. In addition, where they will dispose tonnes of radioactive waste?
Apparently, nuclear power stations are not economical as there is no chance to dispose the waste with zero radiation. I belive, local residents were convinced by gvt without informing them the negative side of the plants.
Isotopes will take thousands of years to subsidise its radiation. Sad to know that this plant is close to Kerala, also worried about people who live close to the plant.
India is growing in every field & Kudankulam is our pride.
NO safety precautions taken for the nuclear waste. Has to be closed.
Visited it a few years ago in a public awareness programme. Its very complicated design from an engineer's point of view. Must salute the people who are behind the creation and operation of this scientific wonder. I think this Nuclear powerplant is India's most powerful and most safe one till date. It's astonishing that each of it's units produces 1000 Megawatt. Now two of its units have been successfully constructed and has started running in its full potential to provide Tamilnadu and its neighbours continous electricity supply. I think this Nuclear powerplant has helped reducing power cuts throughout Tamilnadu.
I don't know why people are having negative thoughts on hearing the word nuclear. Every technology can be used for good or bad purpose. For example, the same technology of light ( elecromagnetic radiation) which illuminates a room if used in a wrong way can burn the whole room (eg. A powerful laser).
Or for a better example consider fire: Controlled fire can be highly useful whereas uncontrolled fire can be highly dangerous.
It's similar for nuclear power.
Also nuclear power plant causes no atmospheric pollution and is environment friendly.
As far as I think this plant can't get destroyed unless a massive disaster like tsunami happens that destroys whole of Tamilnadu. So all people would be dead by the disaster itself and no one will be killed due to this powerplant. I mean to say this plant is that safe. Believe me. I am not exaggerating a lot.
Beautiful place. Possession of nuclear energy is a sign of an advanced nation.
Those who want to say against the nuclear power plant: go to your caves and burn a torch and candles.
We need More Atomic Power Plants for growth of our Nation....
Without Risks we can't achieve anything....don't be a chicken
Chernobyl Chernobyl Chernobyl. For the people who claim it's completely safe ,just a remainder that the Russians probably thought the same too
Many are convincing to be believe in science & technology, but how come a nuclear radiation is SAFE and SECURE to humans and for environment?
A huge volume of water intake, processed and returned to the oceans, it's totally polluted with the radiation slowly.
It's not development, it's a destruction to nature and humans.
Kindly fix solar panels and small wind turbine in our home which costs very less.
Our science & technology costs 20-30 lakh's - even more for a cancer treatment in India which is not affordable for 95% Indian's.
#Save Nature...Save Humans...
i dunno how could anyone click photos of d plant nd upload them. i guess taking snaps s prohibited!
This is the 'hope'. Stop the stupid protest backing by Christians of south India. They purposefully stabbing us in the way to development.
Kundankulam is future of India power generation in Public Sector. Its the beacon of all the upcoming nuclear power plants in India. Think wisely.
Please Stop This Working How Many Peoples Death in ""BELARUS CHERNOBYL"" Please Watch this Photos
Pathetic nuclear plant. Nobody here knows how things work..
i have a big chance to see koodankulam & i enjoy very much i learn many things in it its good for our country
As a chemical engineer, I always welcome for this nuclear power project.
Salute to our scientist for their efficient dedication to make our country at top position in the field of nuclear.
All should know that this is risky please dont support ppl you can't get life through money 17000crores so many politics
Please understand....it's very dangerous for people even in kerala...
To all idiots who reviewed below nuclear power plant is not a safe thing! First of all I'm a materials engineer and I've learned Nuclear Metallurgy. Also i visited the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project. Every nuclear Power Project takes a numerous number of safety measures. It's in personal level as well as General safety measures. The annual exposure of a person who works in the plant is measured at consecutive intervals. If the exposure is above permissible limit, he is given medication. Usually this never happens. Now Regarding nuclear waste, it's stored in fully sealed box and they make sure that the radiation never comes out of it. Also they have a simulator of the exact power plant controller where they simulate all sorts of disaster causing conditions and take preventive measures. Also the power plant is situated a long way away from living area. Also it is heavily guarded. People who never learned a thing about Nuclear Power Plants criticizes these things. They just know what others say. Also to the guy who said, we should rely on Solar. It's such a foolishness. Solar is such a heavily investment and gives out a little. Nuclear power plant is safe, highly productive and to be relied.
I just don't understand , those protester had potested against the clean and safe energy , where they could have protest on unclean and unsafe energy.
One of the best wit tamil scientist Abdul kalam had also said that it is completely safe
Super area and mannar valaikuda is great.
This area palam is butyful.
It's the largest atomic power plant in India with operating capacity of 1000MW per unit.
Clean and safe energy. No effect of radiation.Largest power plant in INDIA
One of the most sustainable n cheap source for producing electricity
The Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) is located 650km south of Chennai, in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is being developed by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
Two 1,000MW pressurised water reactor (PWR) units based on Russian technology were erected in phase one of the project. An additional four units are scheduled to be added according to the agreement signed between India and Russia in December 2008.
Excavation works for the construction of units three and four started in 2016 with the aim of making them operational by March 2021.
Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, is the supplier of equipment and fuels for the nuclear power project.
