As much fun as you can have under the sun Jimmy Staddler...whether keys or strings, be makes them sing. Off the Cuff is so much more than a tribute to the iconic stars of all time...from dead-ringer replica to moving soulful interpretation. It's transportation to the ages and now

I want to like the place, I really do. Honestly though, I've just had too many bad experiences to let slide at this point. For example: I went there yesterday for happy hour. Place was only about half full. Ordered a Modelo and a "cowboy burger". When my food finally came out, it was burnt to a crisp and rock-hard, with a bun that was ice cold. So they offered to remake it. Waited 30 minutes for the replacement, and what I got was rubbery, undercooked bacon, on a plain patty that didn't even have any sauce on it. So they said to go to the counter and ask for a refund. While I'm paying for my beer, I had to stop the lady and ask if it was really $7 for a single Modelo? Turns out they had put a vodka I never ordered on my tab as well. Hard fail on every point. Not the first time stuff like this has happened to me there either. Do not recommend unless you're just there for volleyball.

Great venue with superb staff, and spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Volleyball on Tuesday and fridays for some extra summertime fun. Also good music from time to time as well! Might be the best happy hour deals on food too! Could say more about this place, but you will just have to check it out yourself! P.S. children friendly.

Terribly disappointing. After we reserved the backyard for our private event, KTAO double booked it with the ski swap. It was chaotic and unprofessional. When we asked for help clearing uninvited guests the manager was insulting and unhelpful. We felt completely blown off and unsupported. So sad to see one of our great locations provide such poor customer service and apparently not be concerned about it at all.

The wings were a spiritual culinary experience unlike any other I have had in my short but seemingly infinite 23 years on this earth. Take my word for it, take full advantage of their happy hour menu and enjoy yourself a little more than you ever thought possible. Enduldge the senses.

One of my favorite places to go in Taos! Triple threat combo of 2 solar powered radio stations, a sports bar & an indoor/outdoor music venue. Happy hour from 4-6 every day & the drinks/food are very reasonably priced! Personal favorites include the Baja fish tacos & pepper infused vodka. Great views of the Taos mountains (especially during the sunsets) & excellent live shows. Music ranges from local favorites such as Katy P. & Dawes to cover bands playing the likes of The Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, etc. to widely known artists such as the reggae band Third World. Cannot wait till the next show!

You've got to go! They have hard alcohol and beer (on tap and bottles) but this is a neat spot. Gorgeous views of the mountains with all kinds of activities to do while you relax (listen to the live radio station, play volleyball, sit outside, etc). I did not eat here, but it was bar food with a limited selection.

About KTAOS

Your community radio station. Fully solar powered radio station including performance venue located in Taos, New Mexico.

KTAOS: Your Community Radio Station and Solar-Powered Performance Venue

KTAOS is a unique radio station located in Taos, New Mexico. What sets KTAOS apart from other radio stations is that it is fully solar-powered, making it an eco-friendly option for those who care about the environment. In addition to being a radio station, KTAOS also serves as a performance venue where local and national artists can showcase their talents.

The History of KTAOS

KTAOS was founded in 1993 by Brad Hockmeyer and Jim Cox. The two friends had a passion for music and wanted to create a community-based radio station that would serve the people of Taos. They started out with just one transmitter and broadcasted from the top of Taos Ski Valley.

Over time, KTAOS grew in popularity and expanded its reach throughout northern New Mexico. Today, the station has multiple transmitters that cover an area stretching from Santa Fe to Durango.

In 2006, KTAOS took another big step forward when it became fully solar-powered. This was a major accomplishment for the station as it became one of the first solar-powered radio stations in the country.

The Benefits of Solar Power

Solar power has many benefits over traditional forms of energy such as coal or natural gas. For one thing, solar power is renewable which means that we will never run out of it like we will with fossil fuels.

Another benefit is that solar power produces no greenhouse gases which are harmful to our environment. By using solar power instead of traditional forms of energy, we can reduce our carbon footprint and help combat climate change.

Finally, using solar power can save you money on your energy bills over time since you won't have to pay for electricity from your utility company anymore.

The Performance Venue

In addition to being a radio station, KTAOS also serves as a performance venue where local and national artists can showcase their talents. The venue features state-of-the-art sound equipment and lighting which makes for an unforgettable experience for both performers and audience members alike.

Some notable acts that have performed at KTAOS include Michael Franti & Spearhead, Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli, Robert Earl Keen Jr., The Wailers (Bob Marley's band), Big Head Todd & The Monsters among others.

Community Involvement

One thing that sets KTAOS apart from other radio stations is its commitment to community involvement. The staff at KTAOs regularly participates in local events such as parades or festivals while also hosting events themselves like "Bluesapalooza" or "Reggae on the Rocks".

They also support various non-profit organizations through public service announcements (PSAs) on airwaves free-of-charge including Habitat For Humanity-Taos Chapter; Taos Education & Career Center; Enchanted Circle Trails Association; Amigos Bravos among others.

Conclusion

If you're looking for an eco-friendly alternative to traditional radio stations then look no further than KATOs! With its commitment to renewable energy sources like solar power combined with its state-of-the-art performance venue featuring some amazing acts throughout years - this truly unique community-based organization offers something special not found anywhere else!
