We go at least once a year. There is no other experience like it, except perhaps for Etosha and Serengeti. Accommodation basic, restaurants terrible, experience fantastic. However, don't stay in the lodges outside the park. For the real experience rent a rondavel or go camping. My personal favorite camps are Letaba, Satara, and Lower Sabie.

The Kruger is the largest park in South Africa, it is crossed by a central asphalt road, where you can easily go even with a car, but there are also secondary dirt roads where you can venture in search of animals. For photo lovers it is advisable to use the jeep services with driver in order to be free and quick to capture the moments that Africa will know how to give you. Inside the park there is an area called satara, where you stop for lunch and to compare the map of sightings. I leave below the photos of the animals that I had the chance to capture

4 days in the car we saw 2 lions.
Maybe we imagined it different and we were not satisfied but we drove 12 hours a day at 50 per hour below 35 degrees. Departure at 5 and return at 18.
We spent a lot of money maybe it was just bad luck but C is full of trees and greenery, I did not imagine an African savannah national park with all this Green that you only see trees from the car! If you don't know where to go and at what time it is impossible to see the animals hidden in the grass 100m away.
But if you want to see zebra and elephant antelopes you are in the right place (those are always there)
It is absolutely not guaranteed that you will see the 5 big five not even with the organized tours that we then decided to make considering the lack of seeing felines alone.
I'm sorry because the expectation was high and we feel like crying to think about the sacrifices made to come here.
Also you can't do anything, there are no trail paths and you can't get out of the car.
If you want to be sure to see the 5 big five there are one-day alternative safaris where they take you to see them, not to the kruger cmq where being so large it is difficult cmq.

Amazing park as usual, the only complaint would be the inconsiderate people who visit the park. Staff are always helpful and friendly and the views are amazing. If you are lucky enough you will get to see the big 5 and more.

Wonderful!!! Very happy to visit and see the wildlife free and happy. The way it was granted is very interesting. The park is huge (hundreds of kilometers in length) and has asphalted and several dirt roads. Walking along these roads is a great surprise. At every moment a large animal appears: elephant, giraffe, zebra ... A structure of restaurants and hotels inside the park allow a stay closer to the wildlife. There are many guides that make the safaris in their cars for those who prefer to stay outside the park. The gates are open at 5:30 and closed at 18:30 h.

What can we add. It has become more commercialized, unavoidable I suppose but good spot to for doing something by doing nothing. Lots of dirt roads closed which was a pity for the more 4x4 users. Otherwise still good for a while I guess.

We camped at Shingwedzi. Awesome time camping!! Sightings were amazing! Tsessebe, Eland and Roan antelope etc. Camp wise... Bathrooms can do with a good make over. Leaking toilets and no paper hand towels for days. Restaurant too. Friendly service but real slow and average menu. LOVED our stay though! We will be back soon.

Iconic place to visit in South Africa. One of the two most visited places in the country. Fantastic game viewing. Very hot in December and not easy to see some of the wildlife when the bush is so lush and dense. We ate at the Mugg & Bean and the Cattle Baron and the quality of the food was top notch.
The Sanpark facilities are a little dated and need a bit of a face-lift but pass. Could be a bit cleaner in the bungalows and some of the mosquito netting over some windows needs repair. The kitchen designs are also not great because if you are washing dishes you have nowhere to stack them to dry. A drying rack is provided but nowhere to put it. Toilets are OK. Safes in the bungalows are either totally missing or don't work. They have not worked in years. Our bungalow had an enclosed varanda but the door did not lock and the door to access the room was flimsy. It looked like someone had at some time forced the door open with a crowbar. The fridges are filthy and you do not want to even touch the handles.
Sanpark staff are friendly but not receptive to constructive criticism which is a pity.

This is must go place if you are in South Africa. Total area of the national park spread across around 400-500 kms or may be more than that. There are number of gates to enter the national park. It has entry fee of around R330 per person per day. It is recommended to book a stay inside the Kruger National park itself to get more time in the park and also chancea to get the sightings of big five.

I think the Kruger National Park is the only place in the world where you can see animals in their natural habitat. The chances of seeing the big five or exceptionally good. The camps I would choose to go to are Lower Sabi and Skukuza

Having not been for many years, I was taken aback at the vast improvement of the camps- especially park shops and restaurants, some more so than others. Overall, any South African visitor can be proud of the sterling job that Sanparks management have achieved. Well done!!

I think those who travel and arrive in South Africa as a tourist, know very well what is the Kruger park ... His fame precedes him. In any case it is the best place to find, find and meet animals of many species, in addition to the very varied landscape nature that can be seen. Walking in the Kruger park is an experience that is worth doing by any means, because really every moment is good for taking great pictures, getting excited to see a live lion hunt, etc. etc. In short, entering here is a complete experience to experience safaris but also magical moments. Obviously it is a very large place, it takes several days to visit it and taste everything well. I recommend it and I definitely recommend it to all those who love animals, safaris and those who really want to experience the thrill of being in Africa.

If you get to the gate early you don't spend an hour to get into the park. I was surprised to hear that my wildcard has expired after I checked it online and bought it in November last year. That behind us, we had a great day in the park. Always an experience to remember.

An indescribable marvel! Finally, seeing the free and carefree animals is something wonderful ... you can decide to go along the main asphalted roads or the roads say secondary not paved but very well maintained in which you can get a little closer to the places where lions or leopards could be posted or more .. you can do with the guide that I recommend because they have a crazy view and can see far if there are animals and know places and times !!! What a great show .. very clean picnic areas that are controlled by Ranger, a really great unexpected organization. We respect nature and taste it by going to these pearls of the world !!!!!

Great park. You don't need to book a guide - rangers at the gate can organize them on the spot. However, I didn't feel incremental benefits of taking a guide - they ride the same roads you can take and do not guarantee that you see some animals. I advice to spent at least 3-4 hours to feel the atmosphere

Went in at Numbi gate, very friendly staff. Drove to Skukuza and saw 2x2 groups of rangers out to protect our wildlife! Staff in shops are helpful but goods are very expensive! Many elephants, impala and kudu in this area.

Great to see the trees and shrubbery recovering from the drought, everything is looking green and lush and the Rivera starting to fill up again. Game drives were awesome, Rangers super knowledgeable and the campsites super clean and well equipped. Most important was seeing the great work done to help stop elephant and rhino poaching!

Excellent National Park that gives you the possibility to see live animals in their natural state. That is the biggest difference with the zoological reserves that they offer you. The facilities, rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well equipped.

Absolutely spectacular place.
Absolutely spectacular place.
Obviously no one is going to be swayed by my Google review of the place but I went here with extremely high hopes and they were still exceeded.
The infrastructure and the way South Africa has made the park easy to navigate and cover ground in, whilst still retaining that distinct 'wild' feel is something all South Africans should be proud of.
Even if you only had one day here its worth going - there is simply nothing else in the world like it.
