Well known as one of the top parks for safaris and big five spotting
One of the best known national parks / safari destinations in the world. And with good reason. Kruger offeres a huge range of different animals, including the big 5 (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalo). Further more there are numerous shops and restaurants in the park - one small note tough... you cannot drink alcohol in the park! If possible experince the park with a local guide, he / she will know exactly where to go and look for the animals.
Come early you have more chance to spot the big 5. Pass the night if possible in heazyview
Amazing park to visit! Awesum being our their with pur big five and other animals!!! Fabulous experience for everyone I'm sure hay!!
I just got back from Kruger last week and can honestly say I either went at the wrong place, wrong time or just plain unlucky as I came away quite disappointed. We had 3 game drives each lasting about 4 hours long, starting at 6 am and on 2 of them didn t really see much to get excited about. I think you have to remember and bear in mind that Kruger being so big, you might actually not see much on 1 or 2 game drives so might be worth considering booking maybe 3 or 4 and go further afield or you might just get lucky on the first one!
Accommodation, food, game wardens and staff are all great.
Awesome.
My happy place
Just feel that the safari cars are very selfish and do not take other visitors into account and block their roads with their vehicles then there is a lot of accumulation of vehicles. We have been so caught up in December for an hour.
Just love coming back and back. Relaxing and enjoying the wild live.
Always a good experience although Lower Sabie's mens toilets are in bad shape. Dirty and smells on both occasions I have been inside
What a privilege to be able to go here and the Go Wild Card is well worth the money. I always prefer the park out of season.
Absolutely fantastic! Could not have asked for a better experience!
Love it but only hated it when the wind blew my hat of when i went to get it a baboon ran of with it
Very relaxed in nature, the animals are wonderful for families as well
Unique Safari Experience! Kruger is the second largest natural park after Serengeti, and as far as I understand, 7 days of continuous driving is not enough to be fully covered. They say that Kruger himself is the size of the Netherlands.
It's important to know that if you want to come to Kruger it makes sense to rent accommodation near the park. Lodge as they call them locally.
The reason is that the park opens at 6 am and has to come earlier to take the place in front of the park. They only release a certain number of vehicles on a daily basis and if your vehicle is located far from the beginning of the gate, there is a possibility that you will not enter the park. So we went around 4.30 in order to be around 5.15h in front of the gate, 5-6 in order.
At the entrance you can buy a favorable folder that will allow you to see where there are places for a break.
Tickets are about 25 . During a ride, you can watch animals living in a national park.
It is by no means allowed to leave the vehicle during sightseeing. That's why you could get to the exit.
Otherwise, Kruger is known for cases of tourists who left the vehicle to make wild animal images close up, and this ended with a fatal outcome.
So brain in your head and enjoy!
Amazing, the big 5 the organization but it is large and large so y will be driving and driving
What a cool place to relax. Best place in the world
If your have a lot of patience then you will love it. Wouldn't recommend bringing a 10 year old. They will thinks it's boring.
A great park with animals everywhere. It is safe to stay in the car. The night tour we took was super interesting.
Awesome wildlife. The park is very well maintained.
Great experience. Easy acess to wonderful spots and frequentemente meeting with "big fives"
I traveled halfway across the world to visit this park and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Lions, hippos, rhinos, zebra, elephants, cheetahs, a variety of antelope, and so much more. It was so enjoyable to view big animals in their natural habitat and the rangers were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful of the natural environment.
TL;DR - Put this on your bucket list if you haven't already.
We went in January and although we spotted most of the animals( thanks to outlet alert guide) they were in the distance and not properly visible. Was quite disappointing considering all the hype about Kruger National Park. I saw more animals at a game Reserve in Hluhluwe in Kwazulu Natal and in a shorter space of time.
They sell the map, which I think should had been free. Since the place is big and driving speed is strictly regulated.
Amazing place for holiday. Every time there was a amazing experience!
Amazing place stayed three nights and did the night drives super fun saw plenty of game staff was great food was good would love to go back!!!!!
Too touristy certainly, ticket prices 4x more expensive than a local certainly .. But beautiful park, very well maintained and with animals
Driving through the Kruger was a beautiful experience!! Though next time we there, I will make sure we are there very early in the morning, as this will give a better chance to see more animals. Also the drive is long, so next we must get accommodation closer to the park.
Absolutely lovely. The gravel routes actually offer more game to view, loved it!
It is a wonderful experience and should only be visited by people who love animals and take care of nature, there are many lodges that are against hunting and so it should be.
Killing an animal for fun is very inhuman.
A remarkable park where predators can move freely in a large area!
The photo safari in this huge park is a pleasure, we saw Lions, elephants, etc ...
The Park is breathetaking. Everywhere you go, the trees are lush with plenty animals and birds to keep you game viewing for hours on end. My favourite place in the world!!
We saw all the big 5, and the leopard came all the way to our car.
Saw four of the big five , the place were staying was lovely had a view of the river and animals would come drink
A beautiful nature reserve it once was, but drought has made it a landscape that looks almost deserted.
Despite the above, it still makes the drive through the park and spotting of animals it well worth the while.
The rest stops are very well maintained and a pleasure to visit on the way.
Definitely a must for any and everybody.
Sensational
Best park to do Safari.
In our visit, the intention was to find the big five unfortunately we only saw 3: the elephants we saw in every day of Safari, buffalo and lion . At Kruger you have a unique experience, in the open jungle. It is very worthwhile to go with the whole family.
Lots of rubbish ,bottles ,polystyrene containers laying around. Campsites neglected ,not like it was years ago.
I loved the experience of seeing animals in their natural habitat (they are not in a zoo) and the good thing is that they have the rule that you can not get off the car so people can not bother the animals. Also, if you want to eat and go to the bathroom, there are hostels where you can buy food, drinks, go to the bathroom and there is also a gift shop.
Nature at its best. Summer is probably not the best season to go there as the bushes are very dense and interfere with your vision.
Incredible, nature in its purest form, man a mere spectator. Very well organized, to stay inside in camping do not forget mosquito nets for the bed, the accommodation outside the park is excellent.
Amazing experience in the Kruger. Will recommend it to anyone who enjoys being surrounded by nature.
Every visit has been amazing, whether in a bungalow or camping. Some trips you see a lot others not so much, either way it is an experience few will have in their lifetimes. Embrace it.
An animal park that is 2 1/2 times Corsica, see animals otherwise than in a zoo is a great privilege .. they are stigmatizing .. beautiful and grandiose, between elephant lionesses zebra cheetahs whose colors are shimmering giraffes whose necks never ending .. and all guided by a young rangers in love with his work ... it was an unforgettable memory ..
