Great selection of chocolates, absolutely love the homemade almond bark. All of the chocolate we bought was very fresh and tasted amazing. Service was very fast and the prices were ok. It's very easy to see from a busy road and offers ample off street parking. The decor on the exterior is very vibrant and draws you in. Inside it looks very nice and very clean.

Delicious chocolates in all sorts of forms. Housemade ganaches and cremes are all on display in the case as well as custom treats for occasions and favors. Adorable molds of Easter baskets and bunnies in all shapes and tastes this season. I'm never disappointed at Krause's.

My sister and I went to the colonie location they have a great selection.we were there and the place was jam packed due to it being EASTER weekend . Lol . Good time to go . The staff was great and again a lot to choose from . All home made I believe . I got a milk chocolate nest with coconut shreds in it ...was absolutely the best treat I've ever had . Loved it . I would deffanitly recommend it it anyone .especially those with a sweet tooth .
If you are serious about chocolate, there aren't many better choices in the area. Lots of pre packaged boxes, gifts, and choose your own selections.

Went Thursday before Easter.. The place was hopping but still lots of parking spaces and inside was organized , well stocked and staffed with friendly informed people who went out of there way for me to customize a special caramel apple for my daughter in law. The fudge (I am a fudge connoisseur) is made in house and wonderful-I got penuche with nuts, peanut butter and I believe maple walnut. Staff and customers were happy and every one got along really well.I got some special Easter treats for loved ones and at check out was surprised how reasonably priced everything was priced it all was.

Beautiful store, lovely staff & ownership, and their chocolate is top notch. They also offer well-known fruity candies (bagged in the store), and excellent seasonal product (snowmen, Santas, trees, bunnies, etc.). They must have nearly fifty molds to choose from, not including their capabilities for professional or private events (favors, etc.). And if that's not enough, take your pick from the original candy behind the counter. Highly recommended.

Best chocolate in the area. I come here every year to shop for Christmas gifts. They have a large variety of candy, chocolates, brittles, fudge.. so many options. They have special occasion chocolates, as well as, lots of gift baskets. We also love the peanut brittle. I've made chocolate-covered peanut brittle with their chocolate bar and brittle. It is absolutely fantastic.
Hard to find Chocolate covered creams like this any more. Its real dark chocolate.

TERRIBLE customer service skills, not helpful at all. I was ready to give them $500 in corporate business candy deliveries yesterday and the girl on the phone basically said no...guess they didn't need the business!
I went to Krause for the first time at Christmas to buy holiday chocolate. The store was very busy, but check out was quick. Their chocolate, hands down, is the best! Went for Valentine's day chocolate, once again, did not disappoint. Krause is now my holiday and gift giving chocolate shop.

I've ridden by this place countless times and never went in because I'm not much of a candy person. I went with my girlfriend because she had a sweet tooth. She bought an assortment of pay by the lb chocolates. I got 1 walnut cluster. I thought it had caramel in it. At 1st I was turned off when I realized it was only chocolate with walnuts in it but after chewing the 1st bite I was pleasantly surprised. I'm still not big on sweets but the taste of the chocolate has me wondering what magic they put on the kettle corn popcorn, so I will be back for that.
Their candy is fabulous and they run the business like a well-oiled machine.

You can smell the sweet scent of chocolate in the air the moment you get out of your car in their parking lot. We typically buy chocolate and fudge here as gifts for some friends and family members, and sometimes for ourselves.. because nom nom nom.
I saw some reviews talk about customer service being poor, but I can't say I've had the same experience at the Colonie store, which I've been going to for just over 3 years now.
One of the best shops in Albany, hands down. Great selection of homemade chocolate and other novelty items. The quality of the chocolate and fudge is unreal and the whole shop is just a pleasant experience. You can always tell when it's a professional operation where people genuinely care about their craft. They also do chocolate dipped strawberries on Feb. 13th and 14th. It'll be mobbed on holidays, but if you try them you'll know why.

It's good quality and fine tasting chocolate shop. They have very good tasty treats. They are very willing to give you a taste and or sample before you buy. All the employees are very eager to help you fine just the right treat for you and or for you to give as a gift. You will not be disappointed, its a little pricey but you get a great treat for the price, and its well worth it.

This place is amazing. Not sure why I've never been before but I visited today with my daughter. The smell is unbelievable when you walk in and the assortment of candy and chocolates is great. My daughter was running around like she was in willy wonkas factory. Plus - it's not expensive at all. Most is comparable to grocery store prices and some is cheaper. This is a real gem of a place to have so close by.

Very good selection and variety. Ive never purchased something from here that I didn't like. I do want to leave a little feedback however. I came in a couple days before valentine's day, a time where I'm sure its very busy and people get frustrated. When I was in, there were 2 people behind the assorted chocolate displays that were a little rude, to the point where an older woman was made very uncomfortable because the person behind the counter got frustrated and threw away her order and made her start over. The woman apologized repeatedly and insisted that she'd pay for the thrown away order but they refused. There seemed to be confusion because the plastic barriers made it very difficult to hear and they're helping 3 people at a time trying to talk over and hear everyone, unpleasant. I understand that because of covid there's an effort to get everyone in and out quickly but this method probably wasn't the best. The woman was helped and she left with what she wanted but the individual who got frustrated was a bit demeaning towards her and it made a few of us uncomfortable. Not using bad language, but talking to her as if she were a child. I was going to leave feedback through the site but I couldn't find a place to do so. I will edit this review once it is acknowledged by the staff, I just thought maybe this could be an improvement discussion point between staff and customers. I love this store and like I said they make excellent treats. By all means, the holidays can be tough so I understand so please don't avoid this store because of this comment, they are great people.
