Stay away. Nightmare , staffing issues, communication sucks, loose your time sheets, pay is poor, no days off even if you have emergency in first 90 days, can't take any PTO unless you have a staff agree to cover you, never plan to even be off on time EVER
I went in here and I am a former employee. I tried to get my W-2 because I have moved and changed numbers and was given a very rude service . They would not give me my W-2 so now I m choosing to go to the IRS . I am glad I left this company the office staff needs to learn to be professional.
Lots of opportunity for career advancement and overtime hours when you want to make a few extra bucks. Great benefits, lots of training and since it's a non profit you can qualify for student loan relief. They are in a constant state of short staffing though so you will be expected to stay late often. You will also be expected to work extra shifts. If I had a kid needing services I wouldn t want them to live at Kokua because of how over worked, under paid and under staffed the agency is.

I was a team lead for this company for 5 months. I worked long shifts to care for a client. They got threatened by this and fired me. Without talking to me first. I will not be sending anyone here nor will I recommend them. I worked 1500+ hours in a 6 month period. They just fired for no reason.
When I arrived for a night shift my coworker by the name of Kitty complained to the emergency on call that she did not want to work with me for whatever reason. That was when a woman by the name of Alycia from the office told me I can either go home or drive another 25 minutes to a different location to work another shift. Not to mention I m an African American woman and Kitty, and Alycia are white women.
Kokua is a toxic work environment, very negative people all around.
