if you are a die-hard sushi fan, do not go here. the food is uniquely flavored with jalapenos, onions, etc, but not traditional. impossible to get a reservation when you want it. paris hilton hang out. celebs abound.
Very delicious food. I love their noodles and also other dishes. Very clean place and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Things started going bad with the valet illegally coning off the regular street parking, demanding people pay valet to use the spaces, never even got to the food, he was so rude.
Very good food, impeccable service, great atmosphere, well worth the price of the addition
I had Vegan Salad & Vegan Sushi. Or was very delicious!
Amazing sushi and great ambiance. Definitely need a reservation but the sushi bar is great also.
Best sushi and service in Los Angeles!
From the manager Ricky to our server Tony and the entire staff they are beyond exceptional.
Wonderful place, consistent good quality of food through out the years unlike many other LA restaurants.
+ cozy / romantic atmosphere
+ good for groups
Took a girlfriend of mine here for her birthday. It definitely surpassed my expectations.
Wow what a delicious experience. We ordered different types of sushi which was good. I love going to Koi for any special dinners or a night to treat myself.
DELICIOUS FOOD! This is one of my favorite suchi places ever and believe me, I've had lots of sushi. The service is great and the food is even better. Highly recommend if you like sushi. Definitely coming back.
Always a good time. On the pricier side but they use high quality ingredients and have delicious cocktails.
What an amazing restaurant! The family and I went for my wife's birthday. This is back in the old days (a month ago) back before the quarantine was enacted. I'm so glad we got to go! The pasta wad fresh and home-madey delicious and the sauces (we all tried different ones and shared...remember when you could do that?) were amazing! I wish them the best during this trying time and I look forward to the day my family and I can return!
Best Italian food in LA. I stumbled upon this location one evening after spending the day at Griffith Observatory. I fell in love and have since made trips to LA just to dine here. The location is eh but as soon as you enter, the food will take you to Italy. No joke, it reminded me of my trip to Italy last summer it was so good. They offer fresh bread and olive oil-the ciabatta is my favorite but the baguette is good too. I ALWAYS opt for the spaghetti and pesto genovese. I usually like meat with my entrees but not here. All I want to taste is the thick spaghetti and the freshly made pesto sauce. My husband opted for another pasta shape and quickly regretted it when he tried mine. Lastly, I always start with the classic bruschetta. Even though there is bread at the table, the bruschetta is just perfect, so I always go hungry bc it's a lot of bread!!
Great place for a first date. Not intimate at all, you seat yourself and sometimes you're elbow to elbow with strangers. It's like lunchtime in elementary school again. Meet new people! Make new friends! Great energy if you sit inside or you can snag a seat outside on a nice day.
Call in your order if your taking out it gets busy but cant blame them. Food is delish!
Food was good but not amazing. Good for people watching.
Excellent place to have food when in a hurry. Their service is quick, pricing is reasonable, great atmosphere. Will visit here again
Great service. Great atmosphere. Above average food. Not great though.
Fantastic! The food and the service was excellent. Beautiful atmosphere. Absolutely loved this place. Highly recommend!
Had a great adults only (Kids at home with babysitter) dinner with some great friends. We basically ordered one of everything and it disappeared as quick as it came out! Sooo amazing! Tuna Carpacio, baked crab hand roll, cocktails and and really comfortable environment. I didn't feel like I was at a Hollywood night club with loud music and everyone pretending they're a celebrity. It was really comfortable, friendly and yes trendy but in a local way. Thanks for a great night out. The adults will be back for more.
Koi LA is the one restaurant I will never go to again. It was a Friday Night celebration and I had gotten paid after many weeks of really hard work. I had an envelope with 2,500$ in my purse. As you know it gets very loud and busy. I got up to dance with a friend and in less than 5 min my money was gone! I was ignored and rushed to give the table up! The next day I spoke with the manager about the security video and it was removed! He settled it with 500$ Saying that the camera was broken. I felt so helpless and violated! I should of called the POLICE on KOI! For now I will leave this review and Zero stars! There are thieves In there! I wish they pay for what they did.I will never forget How this affected my life.Damn you Koi I had to leave LA because I couldn t pay my rent!
This place has a good and perfect sushi in town. Everything was so fresh and the atmosphere was very intimidating. The place was great for night date.
Romantic atmosphere, attentive service, fast kitchen and delicious meals (try the Sunfire Roll and Salmon Carpaccio!). We will definitely return!
Hands down the best Sushi Restaurant in LA!
Everything from the environment to the food is perfect, you got valet service right in front of the restaurant and service is amazing.
Bomb food. 1st time walkimg in, I was a little caught off guard how friendly the staff was. Whoever was working on July 7th right before closing definitely needs a raise. That type of friendliness is what makes people want to come back. I will definitely be back. Great group of young men & women.
great ambiance, the food is very good and they definitely have the best crispy rice spicy tuna in town
Great customer service!
Tasty food!
Clean & inviting restaurant!
Great menu diversity.
Good salsa & chips!
Sushi Mecca, spicy tuna and salmon sashimi are my go toos
Good overall experience. The food was good. They offered some good kid options. Service was decent, until the place got busy. Our server forgot about us for a bit.
Pictured: menu, short ribs, koi sundae, kobe potstickers, kiiro roll, and the sizzling halibut sashimi (what's left of it).
Joom is similar to all the 500 other Thai Restaurant in the 10 mile radius, but what makes this place different is that they have Thai Omelette with ground pork or chicken on the menu. If you're born and raised in Thailand, you'll appreciate this simple dish eaten over rice and sri racha. hhmm
Great service and inventive tasty food. See-and-be-seen restaurant with cozy interior.
I loved everything I ordered from the menu. The atmosphere was chill and the drinks were to die for. I highly recommend it.
food is good. decor could have been done better by a first year fidm student.
LOVE THIS PUB! Came here for my birthday lunch (where I was given a huge balloon), service and food - GREAT! Order the Filet Mignon Burger. That is all I have to say.
Was very good, would recommend for a special night.
My favorite Sushi place in L.A.
The most delicious fresh selection!
Great atmosphere very romantic
By far the best dining experience I've ever had. This was my first time having sushi and I definitely picked the right place. Our waitress Emily was knowledgeable and so helpful. The food was amazing! And the service all around was outstanding.
Another solid restaurant from Koi Group! Great desserts!
Great ambiance here, food is great, but also very pricy as the bill exceeded what i was thinking it would come out to. Great place take a date
The greatest place I ever had in SoCal.
I invited my friends for theirs authentic Japanese food and we got this recommendation, which ended up being outstanding!.
Service was really great, with great advice also on the wine. My favorites were the mini lobster tacos. It was so food that either the ginger was amazing! XD
I love coming to this place to get the salmon avocado hand roll. Always fills me up when i get hungry. Great for a light and fresh meal.
Sushi here is GREAT. There is valet parking. this place is very modern looking and a great service.
Really great sushi. Cooked fish dishes were good. Wish the japanese scotch menu was a bit better but im sure one day
I've been around for almost two years and everything is going well
Extremely attentive staff members. Delicious martinis. Cool vibe. Definitely go here if you're not from LA and want the LA/Hollywood experience.
What a great find in Hollywood. Great cuisine with attentive and friendly service. Definitely try the Koi Crispy Rice, which is easily one of my favorite dishes. The Sunfire roll is also another must try, with a great combination of lobster and snow crab and a balancing of mango, avocado and Ichimi. Only real knock is that my old fashioned wasn t served with a single, large cube. Otherwise, a fantastic meal.
This was a fun quick dinner out, but not as much fun as I was hoping. The sushi was amazing though (as you might expect)
I happened to be in the neighborhood and there was a parking space available, so I gave La Pergoletta a shot. This was a good idea and it paid off tremendously. The pasta was delightfully al dente. The meatball was a magical sphere of cheese and meat bonded together over a luscious, velvety pink sauce. Every bite was l
great
very pricey
Birthday celebration with my friend at this gorgeous place. Delicious food and great service. We had a wonderful evening. Will definitely go back in the future.
Very popular. Hip. Busy, loud, excellent food and service. I was very happy.
Great place to go with friends, couples or by yourself. They have a nice taste decoration, perfect to chat, really friendly service, and taste food. Pai Thai and ginger fish are so delicious! Try this place.
Love this place, their sushi is superb and their service is excellent. Koi is the place to be if you are craving sushi.
The restaurant itself is nice spacious. The service is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. She was polite but it was like 35 minutes until they closed so I kinda get it... but we're good tippers and expect to just be taken care of... not acting like we're an inconvenience. But the sushi was great so I'll probs be going back
If you wanna be seen and if you wanna see. Don't mind the sleazy Persian mafia that likes to hang out there smoking all night in front to fel good about themselves but the place is chique with great service, hor d'oeuvres, and fancy drinks.
So, let s keep it real. LA is full of great sushi. Koi is really about the ambiance. Their food is not really worth the price, but what is worth the price is the instagram ready shots you can take in front of the restaurant. People usually come here to be seen rather than eat. Having said that, the food isn t bad... it s just not great enough for the price tag.
Really amazing linguine diavolo. Huuuuuuuge portion of crab. Great flavors. Cool neighborhood. Would definitely go again.
I love the food, but I had a reservation on 10 and I was seated on 10:40 :) .. you should not take more reservations than you could serve properly.
A truly amazing experience. Impeccable service, delicious food and a nice ambiance. The staffs attention to details was beyond expectations. The specialty rolls made the choice close to impossible; everything looked amazing. Being a beer nerd the selection if Japanese specialty brews was definitely satisfactory. The salmon carpaccio is a must. Come here, and be amazed. Do it. Now.
I think when you reserve a time you deserve to be seated at the booked time. If 5 or 10 minutes is up and down that's fine but waiting 45 minutes after your scheduled booked to be seated is kind of ridiculous. I think this is just an old trick for restaurants so you wait at the bar and order drinks, other than that there would be no other reason over 15 tables are waiting to be seated at their bar. Not cool!
VERY GOOD SUSHI AND FOOD. There is valet parking...its a nice place to go for a date. A bit pricey but its worth every penny! Make sure u call to make a reservation before you go because it gets busy for dinner. Also be prepared because alot of celebrities go there to eat.
