Such a disappointing experience.

Such a disappointing experience.

The asthetic for the restaurant was nice and airy. That was all it had going for it.

We ordered the lettuce wrap, poke, bibimbap, and Dan dan noodle. Everything was under salted, under spiced, and did not taste authentic. The Dan dan noodles tasted like spaghetti noodles with a pesto/creme sauce instead of soy sauce & vinegar.

The beef in the bibimbap was mostly fat and tasted like a low quality but even though the fish was more than $30.

To top it off, the service was atrocious. We had to get up to get it own forks and napkins. The waitress blamed us for her mistakes. We will never go back. Other tables seemed frustrated with the service as well.

Food at ko an is absolutely amazing. We've been here twice and both times the food is amazingly good. Everything is from scratch, super fresh, and local. The staff and chefs are amazing. I love the fact that they have a dedicated pastry chef for their deserts. We will continue to come here.

This review is long overdue. I first ate here in the fall of 2019 and it quickly became the place I took business clients to as well as enjoyed as a special spot for date night. I'm a huge fan of the Pho. I can eat my fill and have enough leftover for another meal at home. And let's be honest, it is an awesome hangover cure. The food, no matter what I've ordered, is always stellar. At the start of 2020 I had to start the fodmap diet which made ordering out almost impossible. As we went into stay at home I found I could trust Ko An to check my food intolerance requests and offer good substitutes on our order. Their Ko Mart allowed us to find food easily when supplies at local stores were sparse. I'm forever thankful for that.

Looking back we've enjoyed the Thai Cooler and Ume Spritz cocktails, steamed buns, cauliflower (that's a must get), lobster gyoza, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese meatballs, octopus, Korean fried chicken, ribeye and more.

We have ordered sushi takeout a few times and it was really delicious. So we decided to go for our anniversary. If I'm being honest the price did not match the quality or creativity of the dishes. The dishes didn't feel fresh and lacked depth in my opinion. It felt more "assembled". We had Nigiri, Papaya Salad, Cauliflower, Korean BBQ and the Thai Red Curry. The Korean BBQ was luke warm, and came with an abundance of pickled foods. Which I love but I wouldn't consider that a main side. Papaya salad felt like it had been sitting in the fridge. It just didn't feel fresh. Red Curry was the best by far, but for the same price I've had better. I know how much the owners want to put forth a great product and I have no doubt they'll take this as constructive criticism. But for the price I expect fresher offerings with a deeper flavor profile. I also didn't feel like our server was the best if I'm being honest. In general the prices are bold for what you actually get.
