Knox County Health Department Review

Went to get my birth certificate and the lady that helped me was extremely sweet and polite and helped me much more than I expected. She definitely went above and beyond.

They told me to call back tomorrow to make an appointment ? That s why I called today

Never bothered them never called them. Now some woman from a 512 area code calling me asking me personal information. Says she works at home but was with the Knox county Health Department. Very rude kept texting and calling. Asking stupid questions. Very annoying to be harassed by the County Health Department.

They are very clean and friendly, professional staff.

I don't like the use of TV on all the time in WIC room. The program itself helps with food and breastfeeding. The office that helps with insurance TennCare helped me get it.

I was harrassed by black security guard the one that has been there awhile.....

Security is great they keep you safe. Wic is anti men but if your female they are awesome so i hear

Perfect experience with staff in the womens' health department - everyone is friendly and understanding, which is extremely helpful since my anxiety keeps me from usually going to health clinics. :)
They certainly reach out to all types of people and genuinely want you to be treated as a human being, not as a nuisance, cash cow, or new topic of gossip.

Have used the health department for a few things and always have been treated good here.

Everyone was very nice, personable and most important extremely helpful. Visit included WIC, Lactation counselor and Hugs program. Thank you Knox County for taking great care of our Mothers and children !!!

Very impressed. With Covid was concerned about having my teeth pulled. They are extremely diligent on safety measurements. Very kind and courteous. My first time going as my business suffered during Covid. Extremely fast and for the first time not being put down to have my teeth extracted no pain. My Doctor kept asking if I felt anything. Very concerned with my wellbeing. Highly recommended.

Amazing staff in the dental office, helped me calm down when I was nervous & very quick with the procedure.

AVOID! Rude, Lazy, Cruel! WOW! how things have changed, used to recommend, not I say RUN AWAY! NOT nice to women or disabled people. It is a FALSE image they push. Anti-women IMO. I have female-bleeding issues & need my shot to control it. We rushed to get there BEFORE 4pm when depo shots end (I've gotten them for years, being told 4pm is the cut off, they close at 4:30). I was told I would get mine as I was on time. We waited for a long time, during we watched a young woman who drove from Murfreesboro (near Nashville), who was 2 minutes late be told NO, she should've been there at 4pm! She was distraught. WOW. Then I was told NO too, that the time was actually 3:30. The Lazy, rude nurse told us that they "changed" it, but wouldn't say when this changed. Even the receptionist said I thought it was 4pm??? After arguing back & forth, having a panic attack, I had to pull out the reminder text they sent that said cut off is indeed "4pm" (they took a photo of my text) & then I ask for a disability accommodation just to get my shot!!! (to avoid cysts-flooding and an ER visit). When I went to the back room, the nurse said I was right. It was 4:00pm, but that they like to shut down early. SHE LIED! I will not be going back, I'd rather to my shot myself at home. LAZY AND CRUEL, go to CVS minute clinic instead!

This review is based on my experience. I recommend you always call the department before you go. I checked the website and called the Vital Records department before i visted.I arrived and was screened for Covid and was allowed in. I had printed and filled out the required paperwork needed before arriving. I made my request on documents i needed. Everyone i met was polite, helpful and kind. From the time i arrived and left was 12 minutes. Your visit time may vary depending on time of day and events taking place.

Dealing with KCHD is a prime example of why folks turn to WebMD! Rude, lackadaisical attitude, a place poorly suited for unfortunates who need it the most. Truthfully a sad state of affairs.

We take our son who is 8 years old to the Knox County Health Dept to be treated for behavioral issues,"ADHD".We really love the Doctors and staff here,which is why we haven't already found a different physician.He ran out of meds on Sat this week.We call the office every time when he has four days left.To request a refill.No refill gets called in until Monday when we have to call back again.He has missed several days of school because he has no meds.Something needs to be done about this!!!

Very resourceful and helpful place that is reasonable but they're also limited on what they can do but still help.

Waiting list is very long lady time I tried to get my kids seen they said it was going to take 4 months called again they said 4 more months. Above that great place for kids

The dental staff here is amazingly kind and helpful - I didn't have to wait long and the visit was overall very comfortable. Thank you for your guys' time, and for getting this broken tooth outta' my head.

I had to have 2 extractions done this morning.Everyone was so nice and the Dental assistant and Dentist were amazing.What a blessing

Wrost place ever , they messed up my sons appointment and then refused to fix it , they don't know how to answer a phone or call back when you leave a message , don't waste your time

A couple of years ago before i started working i had to go to the dentist there. I was told in very not so nice way that i was over budget to be seen. I was not told that when i called to make the appointment. They went ahead and seen me. I didnt think the budget mattered. I had an impacted tooth removed.

I was harassed by the newest white security guard. He told me that my four year old child couldn't Touch the trees as if he was going to knock it down! It was racially motivated and I never saw anyone else get harassed and there are children running around all the time and playing with the trees. Im changing clinics because of his unnecessary security harassment.

Well, I'm their every day due to the job I have, but it's a great place for the needs of a diverse population like Knoxville TN.

I worked for weigles #45 and was forced to take out ice bags on the same cart that we took out the double baged garbage but the bottom of that cart was unsanatary, and the HD is on it. Thanks KHD

Went here to have impacted teeth pulled, one of my teeth broke one of the tools being used but the nurse and dentist kept working to help me.
