The foundation itself is sure to do a great job. When I inquired by phone about the current situation regarding tours, I was ironed out so cheeky and pampy that we put the planned multi-day city visit on hold.
Good permanent exposure.The preserved interior of the castle. Paintings. A bit of history. Often interesting exhibitions are held with a competent selection of exhibits.
Weimar is simply worth a trip. The Klassik Stfitung, the second largest cultural institution of its kind (after the Prussians) manages the entire legacy from Goethe, Schiller and friends to Nietzsche and the Bauhaus. So much history (s) in a small town with a large park is rare. Unique and definitely recommended. Tip: Also visit the private Weimar museums that are not part of the Klassik Foundation: Falk Museum, Pavillon Press (Printing Museum), Kirms-Krackow-Haus, ...
The foundation is located in Weimar City Palace, which is well worth a visit. Unfortunately the castle museum is currently closed!
