Not only the oldest building in the city, but probably also the most atmospheric church in Oslo. The original Roman style of the building is mostly preserved, and the few addons from later times do not disturb too much. A great place to enjoy, especially, if someone plays the small organ..

The oldest church in Oslo (12th century), slightly away from the center. Built on a former silver mine. Available then, if someone translates from the Norwegian notice board in front of the church.

Got the chance to see the inside. The church is an astonishing building from the middle ages around 1150. The qrchitectur is beautiful in it's simplicity. In the back of the church on a lower rim to to left one can see the Midgard snake as the church was build during the transition to Christianity.

Beautiful church from the 9th century. It has a great location, overlooking parts of Oslo. You get the services of self-assessment. Regardless of this, this church should be experienced if you are in Oslo.

The oldest building (which is by the way the church) in Oslo, as well as one of the most atmospheric places in this city. Note: entrance to the center is paid (sms), but there is the possibility of free entry during mass. ;) Great concerts are often organized in the church.

Old Aker church is fantastic ... is the parish church of the Old Aker congregation (established in 1861), and is the oldest standing building in Oslo. [1]

Old Aker church was the church of Aker herred, which lay around medieval Oslo. It is also referred to in the Civil Code as one of six county churches in Viken. [2] The church formerly belonged to Aker farm.

The church has address Akersbakken 26 and is located at Telthusbakken, at the end of Akersveien. Stylistically, it is closely related to the Ringsaker church, the Nikolaikirken at Gran and the cathedral ruins at Hamar which are today under the protection building at the cathedral headquarters. The model for the aforementioned churches including Old Aker church was the Hallvard Cathedral in the Old Town. Janusz Panasiuk 1 We Norwegians are also proud of our Christmas traditions, our churches, our Christian Christmas songs and our Norwegian culture!

Merry Christmas to all who love Norway our country

Ever-changing natural light on grey, solid and massive stone blocks. No wonder it still stands after more than a thousand years. A few small colored glass windows. Simplicity and symmetry. Small but beautiful inside.
