Shocking level of care in the A&E!
Last year my wife had an infection and reaction to Penicillin, took her to Kingston A&E and they told her is not from Penicillin and to keep on taking it. Guess who landed in hospital the same night, with severe reaction to Penicillin! They nearly killed her!
Went in with chest pains at the advise of 111, I had knee surgery a couple of weeks before, unfortunately the doctor who saw me finished the shift and passed me over to someone else to wait for the test results and discuss them. 4 hours later I seen no one, by this time I was in A&E for 7 hours! Then the nurse came and discharged me, the nurse! I did not see a doctor! To this day I do not know what was wrong, and I felt I'll for days after that!
Went in again the other night, constantly feeling like I'm gonna pass out and chest discomfort, after 5 and half hours I was seen by a doctor made me feel as if I'm wasting their time and kept telling me to go to my GP as my GP can do more than the A&E can and my GP should do an ECG! In the end they bothered to do an ECG and told me to see my GP within the next couple of days as there is something wrong on the ECG... EVERYTHING is closed for the next 4 days! Looks like prevention is not in their books!
Neglect at its best, never had such an appalling standard of care in the NHS and I wouldn't dream in a million years to treat any of my patients the way I was treated!
Avoid them, go to St George's!
My six year old son broke his arm playing football so it was an evening visit to Kingston Hospital A&E.
ALL the staff were wonderful, communicated with us and the treatment he received was first class. He still tells me how wonderful the lunch was (roast beef and yorkies).
Went back today (just over a week since the break) for more x-rays, new plaster and consultation - once again everyone was fantastic!
Thanks to all the wonderful staff, hope you are all recognised for the amazing work you do.
Poor patient service
Waiting for more than three hours and I came for emergency and they know I'm pregnant ,
Cold room as I'm sitting for long time I felt worse than before I arrive
Uncomfortable seats which is iron
And because iron it's got cold straight away
Too many patients in big hospital but little staff
Brilliant staff here. So good at what they do. I'm extremely grateful for their warmth and professionalism
I would like to say all the people, never trust this hospital and never go this hospital, this place is not a human hospital, is human butcher place. This hospital never been good and never do anything right, I don t understand why government didn t close this horror place . I would ask the people call this place human butcher hospital .
Thank you
Had an accident six weeks ago resulting in two fractured ribs and a small Pneumothorax. Had to make four separate visits to the chest clinic (via AEC) and X ray department. I have been treated like royalty. Can't thank the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff enough. I would specially like to thank Dr Theofanoyiannis.
My brother was hospitalized at Bronte for a few weeks. Poor and poorly cleaned department with poorly trained and unfriendly staff. They should change jobs.
I went to the emergency service and the team who treated me was great, for a Sunday night. it didn't take long to be seeing. I was impressed. Thank to you all
Sueli Carr
Most terrible nurse i ve ever dealt with. A nurse named Rebecca Butcher in Ambulance RAP. Disrespectful is an understatement. Rude and does the job just to get paid. Terrible person. I spent the whole night hearing her argue with everyone. All other staff and doctors were kind and caring.
Fantastic service. Unsure on the new streaming service in the A&E department as changes between visit. Higher pay required for all staff!
Easy to navigate and great standards. Might be a little wait before you re seen.
I can't thank the staff at Kingston hospital enough for their outstanding care in the maternity ward. They were absolutely amazing and some of the nicest people I've ever met.
Staff nurse Victor bordado... Hypocrite of Calabanga
You get great care when you go here. -1 star as waiting times are very long - took longer than 30 mins for a doctor to fetch a nurse. Other than that, this hospital is excellent
Was in A&E with some one on Monday, staff were very helpful and empathic. Thank you
Terrible. I am Diabetic with a very high reading and it has taken over a week to get the results of a blood test, in fact they still have not arrived.
This was supposed to be an emergency blood test, due to my having 2 strokes recently
Terrible service and speed of service
I was there yesterday. A&E, maternity and untra sound. Every receptionist, midwive, nurse and sonographer were absolutely lovely, helpful, kind and efficient.
First of all - there is no parking space, you can easily spend 30 minutes searching for one and nothing... However I spend 30 minutes and it was pointless, so I had to park on double yellow as usually when I come to this hospital.
Secondly - when pregnant woman asked for painkillers thay could not get it, because doctor was in theater, I was actual thinking it was a joke... but no, women was in pain for about two hours skreeming and no response. ..
Stuff is super friendly but it does not help much... bad, baaaad experience. ..
I sat in A&E for over 6 hours with my friend who has an enlarged heart & irregular heart beat before receiving any information on her test results from the bloods & heart trace that were taken upon arrival. after finally getting to talk to a doctor we were then informed that the paperwork from her first heart trace had been miss placed?! During The time we waited to see a doctor and find out if she would be kept in I was shocked at what i saw and hear on the A&E ward . After 8 hours we were told she would have to stay the night but there were no free beds on any wards so she was kept on the A&E ward, we were shown to a cubicle which had not been cleaned the bed was then wiped down and the nurse left the room. We waited 30mins and the nurse did not return so I went on the search for him, couldn't find him any were so just put the sheet on the bed my self and asked around for blankets and pillows to which I was told there were "no pillows down here " and given one thin blanket. There was an elderly woman wondering around the ward who seemed very out of it. I am shocked and appalled, I honestly didn't want to leave my friend in the care of this hospital .
They put a psychotic woman in the same room as me and their service is horrible
Drove to A&E, seen quickly. Appendix removed and home 3 days later. Staff on ward amazing! Big thanks
I had my operation in December and the care I received from everyone I came across was outstanding. The nursing team took excellent care of me though my recovery and Dr Gerogiannis was so professional and really took great time to make sure I was well taken care of. I always felt safe with him and confident my surgery will be ok. The follow up appointment went well and I am so happy with my experience and my healing. Thank you to all.
Accident and emergency department.
Lady at the front desk
Receptionist rude
Not helpful
Doctors taking too long even there was a one more patient in front at 3:30 am in the night still
What are they trying to prove?
Had our baby daughter there last week. Lovely staff who put us at ease and knew exactly what they were talking about. A credit to the NHS.
I heard a lot about the level of poor medical services and I could not believe it until I tried it today in the emergency unit !! (fortunately)
I've brought my 1 of my kids on several occasions and recently my wife delivered a baby. It is a clean and professional hospital that does incredible things with the small resources provided by NHS.
Thanks to all of the maternity and neonatal team for their support and help.. we received a very professional and friendly service during our one week stay in the hospital.
Awful and unacceptable treatment of their patients!
They send away patients with severe pain, not even brief advice or anything to reassure them.
Also their outpatients unit is a joke -waited for an hour past my appointment time just to find out the doctor is not coming so had to go to A&E and waste some more of precious time in crippling pain before being fobbed off after waiting further two hours and promised at least a painkiller by that time.
Joke of a place- seriously!
I went for a review of an injury at the fracture clinic. I arrived very early and settled in for a long wait for my appointment, but in fact I was called 20 minutes before my allocated time. So it's definitely worth arriving early and using the patient check in. I was assessed efficiently and with care by the consultant and given a plastic walking cast instead of the horrible plaster one, which I am really happy with. Making the follow up appointment was simple and straightforward on my way out.
Broken arm. Waited in A&E for 4 hours - had an X-Ray, but then was told they have run out of arm slings. I was sent to find one myself.
Seriously efficient and such wonderful service level. I went there as I was referred as a walk in as I couldn t see my local GP as I wasn t from the area. I had bloods taken and consultation with a doctor... all completed with results under 2hrs. I m just so impressed (big thanks to Dr. Matilda).
My wife was booked in for a caesarian, just before we were scheduled to go into the operating theatre they had an emergency caesarian to do so told us to wait. 4 hours later I decided to venture outside only to find a shocked nurse exclaiming "oh you are still here?". Surgeon was brought back in, caesarian performed and we thought our misery had ended only to find out he had made a mistake in the stitching resulting in them having to cut my wife open again to redo it a week later.
I'm not even talking about the mixed up paperwork with another patient on our visits.
MY SON WAS ADMITTED TO KINGSTON HOSPITAL. AFTER A SERIES OF SCANS AND TESTS THEY DIAGNOSED AN AGGRESSIVE CANCER.
MY SON IS HOMELESS A FACT KNOWN TO THE HOSPITAL. HE HAS WALKING DIFFICULTIES. WHEN THE SCANS AND TESTS WERE COMPLETE, THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE CANCER WAS INOPERABLE. THIS WAS MIDDAY
THE VERY NEXT DAY DISCHARGED HIM WITH NOWHERE TO GO AND A LETTER TO THE COUNCIL WHO SAID THAT THE HOSPITAL SHOULD NEVER HAVE DISCHARGED HIM WITHOUT FIRST MAKING ARRANGEMENTS'
IS THIS CARE IN KINGSTON HOSPITAL. TODAY "SORRY BUT YOU HAVE CANCER AND IT IS INOPERABLE" TOMORROW "YOUR DISCHARGED NO SOCIAL WORKER NO HOME TO GO TO AND SPEND ALL DAY IN THE COUNCIL OFFICES TRYING TO GET SOMEWHERE TO STAY.
AND I AM TOLD THIS A DUTY OF CARE??????
Wonderful Service. I Enjoyed my stay in the maternity unit. Friendly and caring staff.
This is the main hospital I use and recent improvements to outpatients have helped my overall experience.
My husband was taken to A and E where his care was so outstanding and then transfered to AAU where the care was amazing, and we are grateful ! Thank you !
The parking spaces are insufficient for such a big hospital. Today, a bunch of other cars and I circled inside your minuscule car park for ~20 minutes waiting for someone to leave. No one did. A lot of spaces were empty but reserved for special kinds of patients (MRI users, etc.). I parked just outside the hospital on the double yellow lines (knowing that I would get a ticket - which I did). If you look on Google Street View, when the photos were taken, all cars parked outside have a ticket, except for Blue Badge holders, who apparently can park on double yellow lines. What's a "regular" hospital patient meant to do? How about investing and building an underground car park or something. The current situation is ridiculous.
I waited a whole year in the car park for my appointment they never called me in
Words are not enough to truly sing the praises of Kingston Hospital's A & E department! Every member of staff that we encountered yesterday were highly efficient, highly professional, thorough, friendly, cheerful, and eloquent. This changed a stressful situation into one where we moved almost seamlessly from one procedure to the next with a full understanding of what was going on. This in turn put us at ease as much as was feasibly possible.
There were no lengthy delays.
Everyone went out of their way to help us understand each investigation being undertaken and the reasons why it was being performed using layman's terms wherever possible.
A huge 'THANK YOU!' to the whole team with a particular mention to Dr Kate Goodwyn.
I have been there recently.. Im ver pleased with all the precautions and safety measures taken there..
Thank you
When all you negative reviewers have to start paying for medical treatment, then you have every right to complain, in the meantime be more understanding!!
Had our second child there and again the most amazing staff works in maternity wards. C section was very safe and very attentive. Under imense pressure but all are very very genuenly nice and super proffesional people. This time got a room to myself single ocupancy which was just like the hotel! Very happy that got this hospital on our doorstep.
Recommend to everyone.
A kind and calm environment even when you have a serious injury. All the staff are happy to help. Only things is that if you are waiting a long time the seats are uncomfortable but that it is not that important.
I am really impressed by the professionalism and the courtesy of all at the Kingston hospital.
Had an emergency dental appointment and the staff were really good. Fast and professional service.
Thanks for your great work keep going you are amazing people God bless all of you.
Communication and service is very poor and the staff don't care or seem interested
ARE YOU ILL ? DO YOU HAVE A DISEASE ?
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT GENES ARE NOT THE CAUSE...BUT FUNGAL INFECTION..EASILY CURED
GOOGLE " BARBARA O'NEILL THE TRUE CAUSE OF DISEASE"
BELOW IS MY EXPERIENCE..THE HOSPITAL DOCTOR WAS SURPRISED !!
I HAD CANCER BUT DECLINED SURGERY ETC
GOOGLE "DR SIMONCINI " AND FOLLOW HIS EASY,CHEAP,PAINLESS,QUICK PROTOCOL..I THANK GOD THAT I DID
GOD BLESS
I was taken to A&E by ambulance on Saturday night. Paramedics were brilliant, warm and friendly, they had done first examination carefully before we went to hospital. Reduced my stress level, even I had too much pain and worry felt in safe hands. In the hospital, nurse was nice. Not waited too much got my blood and urine tests very quick. Doctor was nice. I'd like to mention all of their name here but I wasn't able to keep anything in my mind that time. Staff was brilliant, service was good. I was well- treated. Many many thanks to all of them.
After a rapid journey to the A&E via ambulance, I would just like to say from the emergency responder, Ambulance staff, A&E staff ( The 2 unfortunate nurses who had to reassure a scared bus driver who needed the loo)!!!
To the Doctors, Porters, Cleaners, volunteers and everyone else there.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
You all are heroes to me and made my stay comfortable and reassuring.
I owe my life to you and the next person who decides to bad mouth the NHS, they will get the sharp end of my tongue.
Thank you again.
Xxxxxxxx
I've have been trying for almost 2 days to speak to someone at the William rous unit. No one ever picks up and says mail box is full. Extremely frustrating when waiting for biopsy results that are days late. Poor show Kingston hospital.
The very best care! Caring and wonderful hard working staff you all should be proud
Literally could not properly diagnose a shattered bone.
I went to A&E after tripping over some steel girders propping up a floor of my house and landing with all my weight on one of my toes. I've broken various small bones before, and was pretty sure something was wrong with the toe given it was now jutting out sideways and I couldn't put any weight through my foot (could barely walk on that side).
This was late at night, and I was the only person there, so was seen immediately. Initial diagnosis was that it was indeed likely broken, but a doctor then came in and gave it a wiggle while looking at my face. Apparently I did not wince enough, because the diagnosis was revised to it probably just being sprained. X-ray? Nah, they just sent me away suggesting something basic like rest, ice, compression & elevation.
Next day everything was swollen and bruised around the toe, and pain had only increased, so I opted for a second opinion: going to the MIU at Queen Mary's. This time they immediately suggested an x-ray, and discovered that the bones in the toe were shattered -- literally -- in a spiral. Not a hairline fracture, bone shards all over the place.
Received better advice about splinting it alongside another toe to allow it to properly heal (not much else you can do), and a follow-up appointment to have the progress checked (unfortunately, back at Kingston Hospital).
Attended the follow-up some weeks later and was seen by a doctor for all of 5 seconds -- who judged that because I walked in with shoes on it must be fine. Literally. Again, not even a suggestion of an x-ray to see if the bone was healing straight.
The toe has now healed permanently crooked and is causing the toe next to it to stick out and rub against the top of my shoes, causing consistent pain in that toe.
Do your body a favour and take it somewhere else.
Turned up today at 9.10 a.m. for a routine blood test. As did many others. We had all fasted (alcohol 24 hrs, food and liquid 9 hours), taken the morning off, paid to travel and park, spent time travelling.
On arrival we were told that ALL except one nursing staff had called in sick, and were advised to come back another day.
This means one of three things :-
Patients are treated as low-grade cattle who should simply be grateful just to be finally seen.
Or the Nursing Staff are too junior/un-professional to call in sick the night before (and allow the Hospital to arrange timely cover of agency staff),
Or the Hospital needs to get modern with its systems in order that sick nurses can text in before the department opens and the Hospital can text patients before they travel to lessen the inconvenience caused. ( I like to think that I'm wrong about the first two, and the third approach will fix things.)
This review is for the AEC department. My treatment was absolutely appalling, I was reffered here by A&E (which was amazing) for an untrasound the next day, which I did not receive until 2 days later. I was also left to cry in pain for 2.5 hours with no pain relief. The waiting time to see a doctor was absolutely ridiculous and the receptionst is very rude. I will never be going back here again, in my opinon this department is not fit for purpose
I have gone there recently after breaking my humerus - the initial a&e was fine, nice and friendly and yes it was broken as many other times and they did what exactly I knew would happen and what the case was ( I could of sped up the process by about 3 1/2 hours).
But the problem was the help afterwards in outpatients - noisy scary and not friendly for a 14yr old boy ( old lady in wheelchair shouting "help me!" ) Along with the x ray staff who this time were horrible unlike previously a really caring lady.
Then I see the doctor who puts me in this curtained off examining area. I hear him and his registar talking about someone else who obviously had a serious problem which scared me not knowing If that was me. Then they start taking about me and the registar comes in not even the proper doctor to talk through everything. Very unprofessional and the doctor was very scary and harsh.
Finally we get the follow up letter and it says I broke my arm initially after rugby where as we said that I HAVE BEEN OFF RUGBY.
Service was unprofessional and inaccurte and unacceptable compared to the exceptional care I got at Chelsea and Westminster under Mrs Hulme's team.
My son was born at the Maternity unit, Kingston, absolutely word class treatment from all the staff, these people do not get the respect they deserve most of the time. I m forever grateful to everyone at Kingston Hospital for being part of the most precious moment of my life. Thank you.
My dad, who is 88 years old, has been admitted to Kingston Hospital 3 times in the last 6 years. I have found the staff: caring, helpful, informative, proactive and most importantly kind. The hospital is spotless, the staff approachable - keen to share information and nothing seems to much to ask. Thank you all from an old chap's daughter.
Very good service not long waiting at A&E very decent care
Very impressed with the dementia awareness.. My mother spent last weekend in the acute assessment unit and was allocated a one-to-one member of staff to sit with her at any time there was no family with her i.e at night
There's a lot to like. The hospital has been modernised though I could do without the new, noisy way people are asked to go to a specific room for their consultations. And there are some good doctors!
Looking nice is one thing but there's room for improvement in several areas. Many waiting list are too long. The downstairs waiting room is draughty and I've had to wait quite a time to be seen, e.g. for an ultrasound. Apparently, in the NHS, I should be grateful I'm seen at all (One comment when I asked for the delay). Later, I saw a locum dermatologist who spoke poor English and referred me me to a hospital I told her was too far away. Then I was reminded of a Urology appointment by SMS, not by letter, and spent 50 minutes on the phone trying to cancel. In the end, I gave up, frustrated and upset. Hopefully PALS has more time to waste than me.
Kingston used to be excellent but seems chaotic at the moment. I can't imagine what the person dealing with the Urology appointments was doing with the two people in the queue before me. Reading them War and Peace? NB I used to work at the hospital. I know things can be more efficient and friendly.
Appalling. Left my terminally ill mother (who was admitted with severe chest pain) without attention or pain relief in majors for 5 hours then admitted they forgot about her because a and e is busy...some people needed urgent attention . When we said we were so worried, the doctor fronted us and said why are you worried? Meanwhile we sat for 5 hours watching another doctor scrolling aimlessly on a computer screen, picking his nails and playing a game on his phone.
The major department trauma toilet floor was totally covered in piss, stank and was unattended by cleaning staff during our total 7 hour stay and we brought Mum home in a desperate state after she became so distressed she told them she was going to walk out the door...with severe chest pain and a canula in her arm...oh yes they did that bit...badly...and she bled everywhere while they were doing it!
I WOULDN T TREAT A RABID DOG THE WAY THEY TREATED MY TERMINALLY ILL MOTHER.
DISGRACE...I m ashamed for them.
It's very disappointing I have been waiting with my husband from last 5.5hours and this is disgusting no one has come and saw him yet. He got a head injury above his eyebrow and it may not that critic but we still came so it doesn't effect his eye or anywhere else as it's such a sensitive area and we still waiting
Got seen by a specialist at 2am after 6 hours in A&E ... so what I was shattered, I walked in and got top level care, seen by two nurses and the A&E doc before the consultant, medical staff from all over the world.
This is an amazing thing we lose at our great, great peril.
Parking is a joke and a rip off. It's such a stupid way of paying for it. Always a huge cue for a space. Some of the staff in the maternity unit are fantastic but it also feels like most of the time you are forgotten about and left in a room for hours with out seeing anyone. No one seems to tell you anything.
Absolutely loved the Maternity Ward.
The dedication of all the staff from the doctors, the nurses, midwives even the catering ladies was amazing. Would recommend this hospital to any pregnant ladies out there.
I had a lot of complications in my last month of pregnancy ranging from preeclampsia to gestational diabetes.
I was being seen 3 times a week by a dedicated team of midwives and nurses.
My induction was booked in on a Monday, my 32 hours labour ended in an emergency caesarean, and I ended up spending 5 days in the hospital that week.
I had around the clock care, nothing was too much of a bother for the team. They were all professional, lovely, caring and very sweet. It was a shame tho that the unit is very under staffed and the poor girls are rushed off their feet.
My only whinge about the whole week was that they really need to upgrade the hospital and have more private rooms. The wards are clean and spacious, but personally I would've preferred some more alone time with my baby after he was born.
The rooms currently are separated by curtains only so you could hear everyone else in the room.
Waited 6 hours just to see a doctor and their first priority was to go home from work not their patients, worst part was that it didn t even take 5 mins. Hire actual doctors pls that are not lazy, Wish I could i could give 0 stars.
Friendly staff, I was seen quickly and looked after. Thank you.
Rather than visit my father at home last week, his GP phoned for an ambulance, explaining that my father may be kept in over night. Which baffled us. He had symptoms that prevented him from attending the surgery AS USUAL. But nothing that required an overnight stay. I accompanied him in the ambulance to Kingston Hospital. On arrival, they processed him in a mysterious room of A&E patients who were all over the age of 65. The area was/is; dirty; blood on the floor; dirty bed-trolleys; dirty, grimey walls and low staff moral. And all the staff with the exception of one, wore 'TRAINEE' uniform! All patients including my father were treated with a patronising bed side manner. When my father was transferred to the Major section, things got worse. Dr NATASCHA GREENHOUGH was terrifyingly BAD!!! Her medical knowledge was extremely limited. Her enquiry about my father's pre-existing condition and the protocol he was/is on, was of no interest to her. And she persisted in trying to force him to take medication and pain-killers that he was NOT supposed to take. This doctor badgered him on and off for the 2 Hours he was on that ward. My father was exhausted and needed to return home to recuperate after his x-ray didn't indicate any serious damage. But Dr NATASCHA GREENHOUGH headed a campaign to keep my father overnight! She panicked him into believing that he needed to stay overnight and take the aforementioned medication. To do this he was taken to a ward full of distressed elderly patients, who like my father didn't need to be there overnight. I had to fight for my father to leave. The irony is, that my father is a retired doctor! The system he once worked in is manipulating and destroying patients. And he was nearly one of their victims. Be aware of your family doctors/GP's and their complicit agendas with hospitals. They no longer focus on the RIGHT protocol for the individual patient! They are businesses that focus on generating continued funding for their departments and medication. You are the pawns to get the FUNDING! Even if they damage your health in the process. My advice is, All patients, take someone to observe and witness with you, and speak for you in case you become too fatigued, as I had to. Secondly, if it's within your budget take out private medical insurance for yourselves, and if this isn't affordable, then insurance for your children is much cheaper. Thirdly, become more informed about Complimentary Therapies AND take good care of your health. You REALLY don't want to depend on the NHS these days. My father who strongly advocated the NHS, no longer does. At the end of last week, I introduced him to Complimentary Therapists who through Nutrition and Osteopathy have helped him enormously in just one week. My father being an orthodox doctor, poo-pooed them in the past. And is now humbled. In one week his acid reflux has gone! His chronic neck & back pain have receeded! Thirdly, look for doctors who are both orthodox and complimentary like Dr Carolyn Dean (Canadian). Watch her on youtube. Doctors like her are priceless. She combines orthodox with natural therapies and she continues to learn and research. Orthodox doctors treat symptoms. Complimentary doctors have to learn about how the body works in concert, and tailor treatment based on the INDIVIDUAL patients results and their INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. In order to do that, they have to listen well. And not assume anything. Two people's bodies can react extremely differently to the same tested as SAFE Orthodox treatment. And when it goes wrong, orthodox doctors are lost. Because their training and disciplines are extremely narrow! My father wasn't helped by his orthodox approach and treatment for 30 years. He reacted badly to treatments that were deemed safe and useful. And in one week has been helped by 2 Complimentary Therapists! So find registered, reputable ones. Because, Pure Orthodox doctors nowadays, are essentially drug-dealers!
I fell down some stairs and sprained my ankle and broke a bone in my foot. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. From the reception or Admin to the Dr s , nurses and porters were extremely friendly and ready to help or give advise. A wonderful experience in my time of need.
Large, regional hospital, with many different departments and clinics, caters for a large number of patients and disorders, driving thereis discouraged, by the very high parking charges and yellow lines surrounding it, I always cycle there, or go on a motorbike. Patients or visitors can be dropped off/picked up in a car. They are also very public transport connections with several different buses stopping right outside, and Norbiton station just across the road.
I can't believe this place has the nerve to even call itself a "hospital."
My partner was here THREE times in 4 months for the same problems. Two ER visits and a three day hospital stay (and about $6,000 in medical bills later) he was sent out the door with a prescription for an antibiotic that the doctor never tested against the bacteria he was battling. Therefore she had no way of knowing whether or not it would even work. And she didn't seem to care/was not available via telephone for follow up when it in fact did not work at all.
Besides that, throughout the three days of his stay I had to BEG for a doctor to come up and talk to us to even find out what they thought might be going on. They never reviewed any test results whatsoever and gave us a diagnosis that seemed (and still seems) totally random.
Another two months of agony went by and I took him to the Vassar ER in Poughkeepsie to get REAL medical treatment. He had been living with these problems since June. The Vassar ER admitted him right away and found the root of his problem in under 4 hours just by doing the right tests! (i.e. a CT scan WITH contrast). In 4 hours they had a plan of action for his recovery - something that Kingston wasn't able to do in TWO ER VISITS AND A THREE DAY STAY!!! :/
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Especially if you are uninsured. They only want to help you or pay attention to your problems if you have an insurance card. Otherwise, forget it.
I intend to write many letters to the hospital administrator on this matter. Now that I know the problem could have been addressed so quickly and simply if only looked at by doctors who actually care. :/
I am beyond disappointed in you Kingston.
Ridiculous wait for an elderly who had to wait 7 hours to get treated for a fracture
Excellent support and treatment of my 90 year old mum with hearing aid stuck in her ear and in pain, many thanks to all in audiology technical support and doctor.
Great hospital!grandma went inn with serious chest infection and was kept in for a week! Their dementia friendly environment made a huge difference in her care!she was taken daily for activities and therapy! She was never alone!dr s and nurses were great!!10 out of 10!100%recommended!
My wife was admitted to Kingston Hospital on 29th Dec
via a very competent London Ambulance service She was diagnosed with
low blood pressure and other problems associated with infection
she was treated competently by the UCAA ward and then treated
in the Isabella ward Esher wing I cannot thank enough the great
service she has received in what has been quite a traumatic experience
she was discharged 2nd Dec A VERY BIG THANKS TO ALL
I had my first baby at Kingston hospital, and experience was so poorly that I still can remember it with tears in my eyes.
1) when I was 5cm dilated and needed epidural the room wasnt ready (needed to be cleaned) so I was in agony screaming my head off for 3 hours!
2) my water broke, and I mentioned it to one of the midwife as I was soaked. But they still thought that it was intact, and tried to break it later, possibly causing the baby s head being soare.
3) when I asked for a top up (epidural) as I was induced my pain was extraodanary, inexperienced/new midwife kept refusing till doctor arrived and told her to top me up.
4) when baby was born I asked the same midwife to measure her height and she said no, we don t do it anymore. Only if there is a concern , it was just ridiculous.
5) baby s head was covered in blood, and we asked the same midwife if she could clean/wash her, her reply was we don t wash the baby, but ok, I can wash her head for you . In the birth plan there is a section where you have to select if you want your baby to be placed on your chest as soon as it s been born or wiped I.e from blood.
6) and finally I was left on a bed soaked, wet and cold for almost 2-3 hours! I had to get up which was so scary as it felt like my organs just dropped down. To look into the cupboard to see if there are clean and dry bed sheets. I also kept ringing the bell and no one would come into the room so I went outside on my own and in the actual hallway I could see a few ladies chatting away who then told me go back in and we will call your midwife . I almost passed out as I lost around 1.2 liter of blood and being anaemic wasn t helping.
7) I ve finally been transferred into room, with dry and warm bed. Baby was taken away as they needed to get a cannula into her hand to give her antibiotics. They brought her back with her hand covered (about 3-4) blood dots as they couldn t find the vein, poor baby. Later after cannula has been inserted it then came out as it hadn t been fixed properly so they had to do it again.
8) As I am anaemic and lost more than a litter of blood, I had to take the iron tablets, but they make you really constipated. First 2 days I ve been given 1 then my prescription was changed to 2, the final result of it after a week or two I was constipated so badly following the pain and soreness after birth...I now had an awful fissure. It was the biggest mistake, they shouldn t have increased the dose of iron after birth! Why I haven t been given blood instead....
9) it s been a year and a half of agony and constant pain. I couldn t have an operation/Botox while breastfeeding as well! So firstly I just had an operation 10 months later but it didn t help, after 15 months I stopped breastfeeding and had another operation with Botox. Thank God I am pain free now but really fragile.
I am not sure if any other hospitals are the same, but sadly I know for sure this hospital/labour experience has put me off from having more kids.
Review specifically aimed for the Dematology departement.
Poor service. Waited 4 month after referral to get a call. for an appointment 2 months later (6 month later then). But 1 month before appointment, I get a text out the blue changing the schedule slot to a date that does not work for me and they have no other option to give but to put me back on their waiting list completely. Also, unfriendly person on the phone, with 0 empathy. Definitely do NOT recommend.
Goid all around. The only problem with this hospital is the parking! Never had such a headache just thinking of parking. This is ridiculous and very expensive too.
From 04:28 a.m till 05:44 still waiting to see a Doctor in the Emergency .
