King's Theatre, Glasgow Review

Beautiful theatre and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Fabulous old building with loads of character, well organised place. Good place to go to spend time with the family

Always loved going to the Kings, staff are always attentive and cheerful

Would have given a 5 but it was too warm which made it uncomfortable but the pantomime was brilliant and the staff were excellent

Traditional venue. Seating on ground floor is great. Seating on top floor can result in a compromised view of the performance if elements are being acted off the stage, ie, on raised platforms.

We were in the upper circle. Leg room was a bit tight but i am 6' 2". Was a bit on the hot side, but excellent view and great sound throughout the gig.

I went with a group of friends to see Jack and the Beanstalk. Very good, funny for everyone

Loved dirty dancing would see that again for sure x

The theatre its self is ok.but expensive for drinks.we went over to the pub across the road at the interval as did a few folk.if they kept there prices down a bit.we would have stayed in the theatre

Needs updating. Poor visibility. Seats were extremely uncomfortable. Refreshments were very overpriced. Thankly the musical American Idiot was brilliant.

Love the Kings! Fantastic traditional theatre in the heart of Glasgow. Beautiful bar area. Great place to see a show!

Absolutely awful my friends and I attended the full monty last night only to have the full show wasted by lack of sound we heard nothing throughout the full show and resulted in audience members fighting and squabbling amongst themselves making it even harder to hear .contacted the nox office at interval only to be told the show was no mics performance what a load of bollocks how on earth can u have a no mics show in a theatre that large there speakers just werent working and they didn't want to deal with refunding people loads of people left before the end and I feel sorry for the actors who had to deal with the shouting and abuse that went on during the show totally ruined what should have been a fab show

Nice theatre. Drink prices are crazy make sure your tanked up before u go!

Great afternoon went to see Saturday night fever show it was amazing thoroughly recommend it .there is a bar to where you can have refreshments in the interval or tea or coffee

Had the pleasure of seeing Kinky Boots tonight, which I had a few years ago on Broadway. Fantastic cast with amazing vocals. The cast had the audience in the king's singing along and screaming with laughter. Fantastic nice in an amazingly atmospheric venue.

Truly wonderful design and always good for a Frankie Boyle gig

Absolutely loved the show so so funny would tell everyone to go to it.

Never had a bad night at the Kings.

Down big time.My daughter has mobility problems, do not book the kings if you have problems unless your seats have no stairs to access them!No lifts! No Ramps !Terrible lighting trying to navigate very steep

Good shows. The seats and access tunnels are a bit cramped compared to modern cinemas (or are the standard for theatres). Prices are reasonable.

Was not impressed your website said we could get drinks from 6pm.. we got there at 615pm but no front of house had to ask for a chair for my disabled wife as she could not stand .front of house crew arrived at 625pm we were told to go up 2 flights of stairs my wife partially disabled this was hard.got drinks 17 pounds for a wine and a bottle of beer.we had to walk back down 2 flights of stairs. Seats were very un- comfortable. Was sweating it was very hot. The only thing i was impressed on was gentleman at front door at end of show hailed me a taxi tried to give him a tip he refused wish i got his name he should get a pat on back.im retired american milatary it is not many times im impressed in glasgow. A manager should find out who this gentalman was.my wife is disabled and could not wait we were going to erskine.he haled a taxi for me...job well done.also ice cream guy at back of hall helped 2 times...these two guys i give 5 stars.

Offers reasonably priced tickets to a fair selection of shows. Welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff however at peak times the bar gets very busy and so consequently service can be slow.

Best pantomime yet at the King's. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Went to see Benidorm Live. Great show, aided by a fantastic staff at The Kings.

Too hot, too loud and risque jokes for a family show.

Large drunken group from the bar prevented my small group getting to their seat when curtain was just about to go up- they were totally disrespectful and deliberately obstructive. The member of staff dealing with them should have asked them to make a passage for us to pass through since we had already been directed but didnt. Wasnt a good start to what was a great show.

Performance great (Swan Lake), the cheap seats are next to bright fire exit signs unfortunately. Some people were very inconsiderate and loud due to being drunk and generally rude but the ushers were quick to address the issue.

Small seats but had a great night watching Rocky Horror

There seeing King and I. Fantastic show one negative thing about theatre itself. Do not like the long rows. Surely a health and safety issue. Would prefer to lose a few seats to create a middle aisle.

Fantastic Pantomime. Elaine C Smith is phenomenal. Her work clothes were gorgeous - colours of iron bru and product placement? Johnny Mac is fabulous as her son. She and Johnny Mac have a great relationship: timing perfect, so side-splittingly funny, made me think of Francie and Josie, Johnnie Beattie of old. All the old favourites: the funny words, picking on one person in the audience, the 3 in the bed routine even funnier when the trombone broke, the funny run around stage with strobe lighting, the children up on stage to be "humiliated" the added touch of Alexander being dropped into orchestra pit (one of panto's company), add videoing of audience and talk to people e.g. "Sharon" when I was there, the out-of-this-world helicopter ride by Jack's Mum, growth of beanstalk without wires, huge puppet giant. Pretty, sweet singing princess, fairy in lovely outfits, saft king, and beautiful singing of scary baddy. Music great - we oldies knew all the songs - even Max Bygreaves There's a tiny house pleased, best coo ever with cute cuddly animals dancers were amazing, cuc stunning

Clean venue and average theatre food and drink prices. You can sit anywhere in this venue and honestly get a pretty decent view but I'd recommend booking stalls close to the stage if you can. Sounds obvious but the difference is unreal.

Saw Vampire's Rock here last night. Beautiful theatre. Show was amazing as always please please book this show again as will definately be back. Only downfall is not a lot of room in the foyer for meet and greet with the cast but cant be helped.

4 of us went to see Shrek on 14/05/2015 it was fabulous,would go back again, only for one thing, we were seated in the upper, row F, it was so uncomfortable, as it must have been about 100 decrees, we could hardly breath. would have given it 5 stars but for the heat!

Good venue but with some limited views in Stalls due to Circle overhang. Bit of a rabbit warren to find your way round - particularly if you need to find toilets but lots of staff on hand! Small set of bars on different levels- expensive.

I have seen lots of good shows here over the years. The delivery of food and drinks etc to your seat is a nice touch. However, the toilet queue can be a long wait during the interval and some of the seats in the stalls have restricted view of the stage due to pillars etc.

Been to a few shows here and all have been fantastic! Staff are warm and friendly and always happy to help. Merchandise is expensive and so are drinks though.

In 2019 it is disgraceful that the King's Theatre has absolutely no provision for customers with limited mobility, beyond a few wheelchair and transfer seat in the stalls. There is no way for anyone in a wheelchair, or with limited mobility, to reach the circle, upper circle or gallery. The bars on upper levels are also inaccessible, and there are no accessible toilets.

Curtains was an amazing show and great venue as always

Titanic the Musical. Like the ship, it sank without trace. Instantly forgettable songs. We abandoned ship at the interval.

Love a trip to thw kings however interval snack box prices are over priced

Problem with so many stairs to ladies. I had tickets for stalls because stairs tend to be an obstacle for me.

Went to see Jersey Boys, had a ball. However, our tickets were for the gallery and the heat was shocking. Made the 2 nd half of the performance particularly uncomfortable. Surely something could b done?

The people infront didnt make good windows , this spoilt it for me. But grandsons enjoyed the show.

Attended last nights show .friday 31st Jan.
,Left after 30 minutes.Sound was an absolute disgrace.I have heard better karaoke singers.I approached manager for a refund and was told to Email the production company.Absolute cop out.
Does the kings theatre not vet these shows before they let them on stage .Came to celebrate a birthsday ,what an absolute let down and a total shambles of a show.So so angry.

We were seated up in the gallery and it was unbearably hot and stuffy. Apparently they forgot to switch on the fans.

Lovely theatre. We saw Sleeping Beauty here but it got very hot.
