You will get fresher King Island cheese in supermarkets. We liked the tasting area but when we went to buy cheese to take home we found it was mostly old stock that they wouldn't be able to sell to the shops. One variety even had a use by date of four days from the day we visited. I would have given five stars if they sold fresh cheese.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting King Island and stopped by King Island Dairy during my trip. It is definitely a must! Such a huge variety of cheeses to choose from and seriously the best cheese I've ever had! The staff are super friendly and helpful. It's no wonder they have won so many awards. I can't wait to visit again!

Long island itself is heaven for the ones looking for silence and a life in peace and slow pace. It's made for me ;-). The golf courses on the island being to the best on Earth, no kidding. And the cheese factory puts everything the island has to offer into various, deliciously cheese. Go there, enjoy the tearing offerings with a glass of wine and leave with a smile.

Friendly staff and really helpful. They'll be happy to give you advice if you need any or share some stories about the factory. You'll find everything from mild Camembert to strong blue cheese and crackers on the side for tasting. Prices are fine for the majority of cheeses, 1 or 2 don't deserve the price badge in my opinion.
