If you're in the area you must stop here. They have everything you need to bake your heart's desires. You can also purchase fresh bread and pastries in the cafe. The lunch sandwiches and pastries don't come warm (fyi) but I highly recommend the turkey sandwich. Absolutely delicious! You will spend more than you plan so be ready for that!
Greatest bakery in the world. There cafe is an awesome place to get bread, pastries, and coffee and the store is excellent as well. Did I mention they make the best flour too? It is healthier than other flours, reasonably priced, and it gets the best results in baking.
Fun place to see so many different things for baking
Jeffrey Hammelmans class of bagels bialys and pretzels
We love KAF. We only bake with KAF. We had a lovely lunch. Our shopping experience was not the experience we hoped for. We have two children under 5 and we were micromanaged by one of the employees who thought everything our children was doing was "dangerous". When you don't know a child's abilities and are not the parent. Please refrain from telling the parents what "is best". The day could have ended much better.
Let's get this bread! Jokes aside, this place is fantastic! There are plenty of menu items to choose from, and each one is of superb quality. They serve breakfast/bread/desserts/lunch/and early dinner. They bake different types of bread on different days so be sure to visit a couple times to try all the bread types. There's outdoor and indoor seating for dine in. There's also a store to buy mixes and jams so that you can make the same treats at home. Overall amazing quality, service, and price!
Fantastic cafe for lunch and along supplies. The rewards are very generous at 10% back on all purchases as well. I recommend the curry chicken and the ruby sandwich.
Wonderful store and people. A bakers dream. 50Lb bag of Flour only $30
If you like to bake, you will LOVE KAF Store; if you like to eat, you will LOVE the Cafe.
The store has so much to choose from, is clean and isn't too crowded. The food is the absolute best!
Went there for a 4 day bread baking class. It was beyond our expectations in every dimension: Friendliness & helpfulness of the staff, quality of the food, instruction, facilities - all awesome!! Highly recommend stopping in and experiencing some culinary enjoyment for the mind AND body!
What a beautiful place! For those visiting the area, this is a great place for breakfast and lunch! I HIGHLY recommend all the breads, just have them ALL!
What a great experience! I loved seeing the bread actually being made. The store had so many items I have been searching for. Looking forward to going back.
We bought some great tasting bread and pastries. A large variety of breads and pastries are sold here. Several pleasant area to sit down and have a snack, both inside and outside. The store has a large variety of baking tools, mixes, spices and jams. There is also a very nice bathroom.
King Arthur Flour is a great place to buy baking supplies. If you go for lunch on a busy day, you can wait a long time for it. If you get there at a good time, lunch will come pretty quickly. I just had a "Special" lunch that completely missed the mark - the Sweet Potato Cakes on a bed of lemony slaw were completely dried up discs (slightly bigger than a quarter -3 of them) on a plate of shredded red cabbage and kale - barely drizzled with tatziki. If you go for a meal, you might be best off with their tried and true regular menu items.
A baker's paradise with a yummy cafe. For beginners they have a lot of mixes and basics and for more advanced bakers they have esoteric ingredients and tools. We bought (more than) a few items and got a bunch of great ideas...
A great place to visit for your baking needs, just for fun, or to get in on some great baking courses taught by King Arthur professional bakers/teachers.
My wife and sister in law wanted to come here for lunch. The menu was a bit limited but the BLT I had was pretty darn good! I also had my first Maine Root Beer, which was refreshing.
The ladies left me outside while they wandered the store. If you're into baking, I imagine it would be interesting. Me, I stayed away :-)
The grounds were pleasant and well maintained. Free guest wifi is available.
If you're a tourist, the cafe is great but imo not worth waiting if the line is super long. The coffee is surprisingly amazing, and of course the food is delicious.
I love this place. We always end up leaving with some awesome baking mixes and great coffee.
Never a bad experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is great and breads and treats are delicious. Definitely try the whoopie pies, they are out of this world! Definitely a place to go for lunch then walk around the store. Great coffee too.
Great bread, great pastries, great coffee, great people.
Pretty terrible quality in everything. Reminded me of like a Starbucks or something like that. So if you re into Starbucks, it might be your thing.
Great BLT sandwich, the best I ever had !! And very good blue cheese salad.
Wonderful friendly place. Smell of bread was intoxicating. Great cookies and chocolate croissant.
This Sunday afternoon, 9/22/19, I was at the store in Norwich. I had many questions about some of the gluten free mixes. The young woman who helped me (Jarusha) was the most helpful person I have ever met. She knew about the products and made many suggestions to assist with several other allergy related substitutes. She showed me where to look for products and gave cooking instructions as well. It is such a pleasure to do business with people who care and are sensitive to their customers! Love this store.
When I think of the Upper Valley, I think of KAF. The space is absolutely awesome. There's always plenty of parking. It's fun to look through the windows into the baking areas, and it's equally fun to browse through the store and check out all of the kitchen gadgets and foodstuffs. Their boxes always bring baking bliss! Every item from the bakery and cafe is delicious, especially the curry chicken salad on croissant. If you're in the area and hungry for lunch or if you want to pack food out for the day, head KAF's way!
Beautiful facility. Very friendly and professional staff. Great selection in the store. Outstanding food. A lot like Stonewall Kitchen except not quite as pricy.
The staff was incredibly nice and the store and cafe were very clean. The staff is obviously following the cleaning protocols for COVID very closely. Overall a great visit.
Always a treat to shop here, even though they sometimes run out of an ingredient or two you're looking for.
Incredible breads and coffee , Best cafe in small town with amazing view, lovely people and service
I really like this place. Store is perfect for buying baking ingredients. Everything is sort. Their coffee-store is very good, a little bit expensive but everything is delicious.
I ordered an 8 piece birthday cake. But when I pick it up, I got an 4 piece cake. So they checked my order and it said it was 8 piece cake. They said since the bakers were gone, they couldn't do anything. So I had to take that small cake. It ended up I had to go to another store to buy another one. Also while I was waiting for them to find my cake, I saw a flyer was flying around and landed on the uncovered cookies. It seemed nobody cares. It was a bad experience for me!
Salmon was a little weird and bread was kinda hard But everything else WAS AMAZING! I loved all the books and Ingrediants! I also picked up pancake mix and maple cornbread mix! I would like to come back next time i go to vermont Greetings from Ohio!
I've been here several times while visiting dear friends in the area and King Arthur never disappoints! I've never had a bad meal here, whether it's breakfast or lunch. Fresh ingredients are always used, which is obvious when you take your first bite. Their coffee is amazing and the bread is even better. Please make time to visit the store if you're here to eat or vice versa. To me, they go hand-in-hand!
Came across this place by chance when on vacation. Just thought we were going to grab coffee, breakfast sandwich, and a treat. 4 hours later. The food was great, we tried many things because we weren't going to be back for a while, and everything was better than the last. There is an outdoor area to allow kids to burn off their sugar intake. The marketplace was fun to explore and the kids could watch the bakers bake for hours. Only complaint was the coffee was mediocre.
The staff and food was amazing! The store had new and different baking items! We lived watching the bakers!
Great concept, good food but terribly designed layout of the cafe that leads to very long wait times. 15 minute minimum for coffee, not a joke.
Tasty food and the kids are able to watch them make bread. Only a 4 because I've had trouble getting people to wait on me before (even when there isn't a line)
Finally made it here but felt like Ben and Jerry's for Flour
Nice clean atmosphere you can buy flour and other baking products and have a bite to eat as well. But bring your pocketbook pretty expensive.
Love this place. Never been here until I brought some clients here.
Took a trip here on a rainy Monday to see what the fuss was about. Well worth the drive! So many things in the gift shop, prices for mixes, dry ingredients, etc. Were reasonable but some cookware was a little on the expensive side (though probably worth it!). Our cashier was very friendly, the fresh bread we got was delicious. The cafe was organized chaos... not nearly enough seating but the food was great! Will definitely go back.
KAF is a pilgrimage and a delight! Some day I'd like to take one of the baking classes, but until then, I'll continue to enjoy the real-live version of the catalog and the lovely bakery. Make sure you get yourself a treat and a coffee!
Love the bakery and the store. Great sandwiches, pizza and baked goods. Love the almond cloud cookies and the whoopie pies. The store has a lot of good baking supplies and a lot of mixes. Be prepared to spend a lot of money.
Great lunch. Great baking shop. They definitely need more lunch seating.
Of course everything is a little weird with the pandemic going on but these folks are managing it as well as I could ever want. Very courteous but firm. Delicious baked goods and lots of fun items in the baking store. I am nuts about baking so I suppose not even close to objective.
Don't go here during COVID. Employees are evidently not required to wear masks. Customers all wearing masks per signage, not employees. Yep, in a food store.
Delicious lunch of veggie pizza and a tomato herb and parmesan soup. Great coffee too and reasonable price.
Good, fresh food but nothing special. The mocha latte was delicious.
I'm pretty sure this is what heaven smells like. As soon as you walk in the door, it hits you: the scent of fresh baked bread. The environment is rustic, but the building is modern on the sly. There are always families with kids here, students and professionals working on their laptops (WiFi is free and pretty reliable, if a bit on the slow side) and people meeting up for business or pleasure. There are cold sandwiches or tubs of soup if you'd like to grab and go, or get something made for a snack or a meal and enjoy the space. Honestly, you need to get the bread and jam for breakfast sometime. There's nothing more beautifully local in every way.
Superb food! Best BLT I have ever had! Staff is always friendly and happy!
I had the best roast beef sandwich ever while visiting here.
Nice store with good prices, staff were helpful. Food was good only wish they we able to do tours., but very nice to visit.
Delicious food and a neat store filled with unique cooking items!
I've always used their flour. The bakery/cafe has excellent bread and pastries. The store has a wide variety of flour (of course), cocoa's, extracts, books and equipment.
Wow. First of all this is a beautiful building. Arranged nicely on the outside with a seating area.
Inside walk to the left it is the store. Straight ahead is the cafe bakery. To the left is the baker's behind windows with the kitchen.
The store has lots of kitchen gadgets. And of course all the King Flour product line. And it is a lot more than flour.
The cafe had great fresh baked goods. Guess where they baked?
The windowed kitchen cool to watch baker's do their tricks.
Great place to visit eat and learn.
Couldn't be happier to end up here for lunch. Food variety and quality was great! Coffee that tastes amazing without costing an arm and a leg. Also, the decor is pretty cool and there baking shop right next to the eating area is a real treat.
The best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Of course the Rolls are fresh, soft and yummy. Worth the trip but be aware the cafe is always busy. The store is a bakers dream.
Chocolate croissants are delicious! Has indoor and outdoor seating and picnic tables. Classes are also available through their baking school. Shop sells nice kitchen tools!
I live kind of far away but come once a year. Such a great place to be inspired, eat delicious food, and get great tools to take home and make all my favorite recipes. Their store is in a beautiful campus and they have a rewards program as well.
Very expensive, pizza is not good! Coffee is bad, water taste strange,Pastry is good, the bread quality is getting worst, and they treat the kitchen workers very bad!!! Just like a corporation would, for an employee owned company they make the workers feel like they don t even own themselves! Rude people. I hope in the future they can find their humanity again because they where a good business in the past.
Lunch in the cafe was outstanding, worth the long wait. The store was clean & well stocked with quite a variety of kitchen gadgets and mixes and accompaniments!
So, King Arthur is known for their great gluten-free flour but every time I go here they are either sold out of all their gluten-free baked goods or they have limited options. I drive out of my way to come here so it's a disappointment and I probably won't be back. Step it up, King Arthur.
the catalog comes to life in the store. Cafe is just delightful with just baked goodness everywhere. Coffee is good too. They are all set for covid so shop confidently. You are bound to find something new to try. Enjoy
Beautiful location and very tasty treats! We will definitely be back for more amazing bread and croissant!
Great place to get a bite, a cup of coffee or tea and a pastry to go. If you are planning to do some work that requires you have high-speed WiFi, then it is NOT the place to be.
This is a lovely, clean space with a restaurant and shop. They sell everything to do with baking from appliances to books. It was busy and a lot of people were there but it wasn t crowded as it is very large. The food was delicious, and the coffee was first class. There are a great many samples available in the store.
Stopped in briefly to try the baked goods and browse the gift shop. The shop is pretty much what you would expect: all the baking and King Arthur accoutrements you could ever wish to see. The bakery cafe was really nice and had some outdoor seating available that was beautiful on a Saturday afternoon in September. We shared desserts and all left impressed. Great spot to stop in for a meal or just dessert, the store is optional if you ask me.
The store itself is very nice, but the food in the cafe never fails to disappoint.
What better way to spend a cold winter weekend than taking a baking class at King Arthur Flour? The class was both informative and informal: I am a total novice, but was made to feel comfortable, and I felt pretty accomplished when my scones, the first baking effort in my life, came out perfect. I can assure anyone, all credit goes to the staff of this very clean, very organized facility. My wife, who is quite accomplished, was pleased to learn the art and science of her baking efforts. The staff was unfailingly cheerful and informative. The adjacent restaurant was perfect for grabbing a tasty bite before the ride home.
Visited October 2019: This place is awesome. It's a bakers paradise! My wife and I visited here during our Honeymoon and were greeted by quite a large store / outside area. The outside of the store provides quite a few areas for people to eat, relax and otherwise congregate. The inside has a bakery school (schedule posted online), a Deli and a baking goods/grocery section. We mainly hung out in the grocery section of this location and were amazed at the selection of items here. I've attached a few pictures to showcase a small amount of what is there. We talked to a few team members here and they gave us suggestions on which baking boxes to get as gifts, and helped us ship our purchase back home safely.
Fantastic place overall, worth a stop for even a few minutes to look around.
Amazing and unique lunch with plenty of vegetarian options. I've been here several times and it's become my favorite place to eat. Everything is so fresh and the staff seems very happy to work there.
This place is a foodie icon! Great food in the Cafe, very pleasant enviroment. A great group of some of the finest bakers on the east coast. The store is amazing and carries fine baking implements and supplies. When you're in the area, you must visit!
I went for the Bagels and Pizza classes. Both were excellent. Everyone has their own workspace, equipment and ingredients. After listening and watching the instructors, you go back to your workspace and re-create the recipe. Plenty of attention from the instructors. They are generous with the ingredients and information. I learnt a lot and enjoyed it thoroughly. It gets booked fast and in advance so plan ahead.
Very impressive place, exceptionally clean, temperature checks and multiple sanitizer locations throughout
Great spot. Wish the breakfast sandwiches were on portugese muffins and not brioche rolls!
Not only Great bread with opportunities to see it being made but a place to get healthy fresh home cooked food and the store...has everything you could want, even if you want gluten free! Stop in for soup, sandwich, shopping. You'll be glad you did!
I have been a customer since way before your beautiful expansion in the 80,s. I visit 2 or 3 times a year and have always enjoyed it. I visited 2 weeks ago and found every staff member to be rude and short with me. I realize lots of changes with this year but it does not give employees the right to mistreat people.
Awesome place! Love the cafe, love the classes, love the store. -1 star for the huge (and slow moving) lines at the cafe.
Parents: Step stools and stairs for the kids to see into the bakery windows. Kids table and chairs in the cafe.
EV drivers: Charging station not in the main parking lot. Follow the service and deliveries sign to the further south entrance from the main road. Chargers are next to the solar array.
Hikers/walkers: Little trail from the main parking lot.
