On the way from course to home I bought groceries at this large branch of AH.
Many things that are no longer in the assortment of my regularly visited branch, are apparently still for sale here.
Delicious! On the other hand, certain products are not being sold again. Great and tidy branch.

The only retail chain in Amsterdam that does not accept Mastercard. And the Bonuscard scan errors are always in Albert Heijn's favor. The identical products cost 50 cents less at Dirk. When I left the store without buying anything, security went after me and looked in my bag after I had been out on the street for 5 minutes. Of course false alarm. And received no excuse. I don't buy here anymore.

Today I went to AH in De Pijp for the first time. I have to say; what a relief. Overwhelming assortment of vegetables and fruit including trendy avocados, spicy ginger stems and sweet organic pumpkin (recommended !!). Hip is an understatement in this establishment, where seeing and being seen at the biological department can certainly not remain unmentioned. All in all, a pleasant big grocer for daily groceries with attention to the contemporary needs of a trendy Amsterdammer.

Its one of the biggest Albert Heijns in the area. The entrance on both sides looks a big shady, however the super market itself is quite clean and well stocked. They have a wider variety than most Albert Heijns in Amsterdam. Be prepared to wait in line for check out since most of the times only two checkout lanes are open.

If you are specially interested in cheese and frozen food then they have a very good variety. Same goes for beer, Ice creams and chips.

What an unfriendly and grumpy cashier employee. I did not look at me for a moment and when I indicated that I wanted purchase stamps, she kept looking around a bit and did not respond and no words came out of her mouth. It seemed as if she didn't feel like working at all; Then don't go to work.
Don't like to come back.

Buying some things for the journey back to London....

Buying some things for the journey back to London. Had to move to self service as they didnt accept cash and the woman at the cash desk took the money as I was counting it out (less than 10 seconds-I didn't have enough cash for everything so had to return something) said I'd paid her less than I had and then got very confused about the balance owed whereas if she had just waited a couple more seconds (No queue behind mr) we wouldn't have got confused, And I wouldn't have been short changed. Rude. Shame, as I've had only positive experiences otherwise on this trip.
