I think if I dropped dead right in front of the counter the face expression of the guy serving us would not change. Welcome to the new world of commercialised wine tasting with fees of $10/$20, unless you buy something, of course.

$5 for 5 tastings $10 for 10 tastings. Personally didn t try the wines myself. Got the complimentary sparking .. very nice. The Divinity (fortified wine) was to die for, had to hold back from paying $30 a bottle, if I had a better paying I may have. 4 mmm s outta 5. Click my profile for more reviews. Watch out for my July wine tourwhere I will be reviewing some of SA s best wineries.

Location and views of the winery are beautiful. Service was quite the opposite. The first location in all of Clare and McLaren vale that we visited where we were noticeably treated worse than other older visitors. Disappointing treatment given the reputation and apparent quality of the wines there. I would skip this is a couple/group under 35. There are many other cellar doors with better service and wines in the region.

First stop as we cycled the riesling trail. Small group of four told that without a booking we could only taste the budget range (with tasting fee of $10). Wines were young and bland. Wanted to taste the nicer ones but no option given. Tasting fees exorbitant. Maybe it is catering only to bus loads of daytrippers? Much nicer cellar doors who don't charge to taste the full range just up the road.
