Fantastic place to Glacier hike, go glacier ice climbing, Glacier caving and see a great old copper mining complex. The rooms at the lodge are great with fantastic views and the food is great!

This town has an amazing history and is incredibly close to the glacier. The hotel itself has a fascinating history and is surprisingly modern. Check out the letters and newspaper articles posted on the walls in the lodge to find out the incredible history of Kennicott!

Everything is great - the service, the food, the facility and of course the location in the unique setting of Wrangle - St. Elias National Park. We keep coming back because we get everything we are looking for in a get away plus the opportunity to meet travelers from all around the world. Tom Turner

This hotel is very lovingly designed. We stayed in the new part of the hotel where all rooms have their own shower and toilet. In the main house there is only one shared shower and toilet. There is no TV, which was also not needed. Otherwise everything was clean and in good condition.

If it helps, please mark me like. Thank you

Fabulous service--they made sure to get to know me. Amazing food. Comfortable rooms (note no private bathroom or thermostat in the main lodge rooms). Quiet. In a great location for access to the adventures around Kennicott.

Perfect beautiful weather. Clear warm no rain. Beautiful location. We booked room with our own bath, some have shared bathrooms. Easy hike to glacier. Rooms are nice, big. No tv and no fridge for our beer. Friendly staff. Good food. Interest to get here. Footbridge across river, then shuttle picks you up.

Kennicott Glacier Lodge rising like a Phoenix out of the remote backcountry of Alaska. The Historic Kennicott Copper Mines (being restored by the state of Alaska) located today in the boundaries of Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Which contains North America s largest collection of glaciers, One larger than the state of Rhode Island. Accessible by small plane out of Chitina, Ak to McCarthy Alaska. The restored Lodge takes you back to a time of simple but luxurious comfort & culinary delights. The scenery is spectacular & the hiking is exhilarating. The complex of buildings & mines sits along a glacier. It s a must see & do If in this area of Alaska! glacier hiking a plus .

Very charming lodge. Large porch with rockers overlooking glacial moraines. Rooms simple but immaculate. Restaurant outstanding. Very cool decor throughout circa ~1920s. Spacious and comfortable common rooms with plenty of books and games

Our stay was beyond fantastic. The staff are all outstanding, the food is superb, the rooms super comfortable, and the views beyond words. It isn't inexpensive, but to stay in the heart of Kennicott with this level of comfort is well worth the price.

Friendly, helpful staff really want to be sure you enjoyed your stay. You should definitely plan to eat their meals; they are very good and feel appropriate, somehow. The cheaper rooms are on par with a Super 8, but with rustic touches. Can't beat the view from the building (individual room windows may not be so great, but who wants to stay in their room when you are staying here?)

Ate at their restaurant. Prices were reasonable (as reasonable they can be for Alaska). Waitress was polite and helpful, dood came out on a timely manner. The only bad thing I have to say is that my Caesar salad was REALLY overdressed. This is coming from someone who likes a lot of dressing. Next time, I'll just ask for it on the side though. The curry soup was actually to die for. Bathrooms were clean and well kept

Stayed 5 days. The meals are all hearty. The resident Alaskans didn't like salmon dinner but I did. We got a cheaper room with shared bath and shower but there was little contention for either.

Kennicott Lodge is off the beaten path, but a great little plane hop will take you over gorgeous mountains and glaciers to enjoy this locale! The Lodge itself is very comfortable, everything you need. Very efficient staff, good food, and great room and bath. And you can't beat the views of the Root Glacier from the lodge! Amazing place and worth the effort to get there!

This is a review of their restaurant; we did not stay at the lodge. The restaurant was closed for indoor dining (June) but we were able to order a soup, sandwich and cookies to sit on the deck. That's all they were offering on their lunch menu at the time. The sandwich was bigger than I think I have ever seen. It was probably three sandwiches in one with so much ham that I think it was a small pig. It came with chips and I also ordered their soup which was good. The cookies were also tasty. there were a couple of small service issues that were worked out but all in all, a solid place for lunch.

Amazing, phenomenal food!! We ordered the special for lunch, Alaskian Halibut Cakes and Wild Rice. It was beyond spectacular! Nothing about this place disappointed, service was on point. Glad I was able to experience this wonderful gift!!

KGL can't be over-rated! The lodge is superb in every way, from perfect meals and service to a spectacular setting in the Kennicott Glacier valley. As a frequent Alaska visitor, I'm accustomed to adjusting expectations downward due to terrific logistics challenges that face operators of all services. KGL re-set the meter -- and pegged it. Five stars.

Also, get the Key Lime pie.
