I can't say enough about this resort. Just about everything is great. From the registration to the checkout.
The design and setup: massive place yet you never feel crowded.
The pools are absolutely perfect. So many pools and so many workers to help and serve you.
The room is extremely comfortable with a fantastic shower. Very clean, big TV with plenty of stations (English). Only negative here was from my wife. Lightning in bathroom could have been better, no full length mirror and no iron or steamer in room.
Great facility for the Dead Sea with someone there to help explain what to do, take pictures for you, provide cold water and he will also apply the mud for you.
As for the food. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic although I thought they could have been coming around with coffee instead of me having to chase them down. Dinner (buffet) I definitely didn't think was that great and didn't think it was worth the price. Next time I will go to a la carte restaurant. Terrace in the evening with belly dancer was a great touch (don't miss)

Overall absolutely loved it!!!

The best Pad Thai I ever had and I'm from Thailand. Who came to Jordan and wanted to eat food? Thailand recommends this place. the food is very delicious The chef comes from Ubon. Made the curry to eat, Eeab Ee wanted to eat something, order it. Papaya salad is available. The most delicious Pad Thai ever eaten. Even better than staying in Thailand

worst five star hotel service in jordan due to lack of knowledge of how to deal with guests in a polite way that's because they came to my friend room at 1:00 am in the morning to ask his guest about his ID and to pay for his guest pass so i think in my opinion this is so rude and totally wrong to do this a five stars hotel.

We stayed in august 2013 and decided to cut our stay short mostly because of the lack or service and the little service we got was sad :(

Pros: architecture, pools, room cleanliness, breakfast was good.

Cons: 1)SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. nobody wants to help or get you anything. 2)Furniture is really beaten up for a five star anything. in the lobby and defiantly in the room. 3) Dinner was horrible. unsatisfactory grilled foods and dry everything. 4) did i mention nobody wants to get you anything or service you at any of the pools or restaurants.

Save your money and go to the Marriott next door.

Very beautiful and expensive. Breakfast identical to every other Dead Sea resort, but good restaurant options for dinner. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. Families would feel more comfortable at Holiday Inn or Mo venpick.

My husband and I arrived on Thursday October 18th ...

My husband and I arrived on Thursday October 18th for three nights, excited for our stay at Kempinski. First impression was good: lovely facilities, great reception and welcome to the hotel - however, that's where it ended for us.

We were told on check-in that there was going to be a wedding that night and there might be 'some noise' and that we should of received an email notifying us of that (we hadn't). As there wasn't much that we could do at this stage, we said okay. Later that night, the power went out for the entire resort. We were told it was an outage across the Dead Sea area (which may of been initially true), however, all of the surrounding hotels had power, long before we did. We were told that the hotel had generators that were routing power to the areas that needed it the most - apparently that meant the wedding dance floor lighting and music and not my hotel room. While the party raged on into the evening, we were unable to get ready and go to dinner (the power was completely out in our room and we were unable to use the shower as it was pitch black). The noise from the wedding was absolutely ridiculous and horrendously unacceptable. We complained to the front desk but found everyone to be very defensive, saying that they sent an email around and there wasn't anything they could do. If we had, in fact, received an email stating that there would be this level of noise, we most assuredly would not of booked.

Additionally, we had a terrible instance of food poisoning. We had ordered from the in room menu, two sandwiches, on our second night. We woke up the next morning in a horrible state, unable to keep any food or fluids down. My husband went down to request a doctor for me and a nurse was sent up to our room. The nurse said that he had no medication on site and that we would need to go to the hospital, at our own expense. Not wanting to get out of bed, as we were nauseous, feverish and dizzy, we obviously declined. We were forced to stay in bed all day and were unable to use any of the hotel's facilities that day.

I went down that evening to talk to management about our experience and I was absolutely appalled with the way they handled the situation. I was still feeling unwell and they had me sit downstairs for almost an hour as they brought various people to come out and speak to me about our illness. I was there by myself as my husband was still too ill to move. They, several times, tried to convince me that we had the flu (at the same time, with the same symptoms, after eating the same thing) and that there was no way that the food was contaminated. I was not met with understanding at all but rather was met with defensive tones and was accused of lying ( as I am literally sitting on the sofa feeling unwell speaking with them!). In the end, they only agreed to pay for the room service that made us sick in the first place.

It was an absolutely appalling way to treat a customer and I was genuinely shocked at the response I received. I would expect a hotel chain like the Kempinski to stand behind their brand of exceptional customer service and to do right by the customer.

I wouldn't recommend this location - there are many other lovely locations close by and you might be able to avoid the horrible experience that my husband and I had!

We upgraded our room at check in to the Ishtar part of the hotel (Ishtar Terrace Room), the room was big and had a nice view on the ocean. A turnoff were the smelly sinks/tub/shower that smelled like sewage. Would recommend to use the The Codes restaurant for breakfast as the other one in the Ishtar building is too crowded too enjoy the nice breakfast buffet.

We like the hotel and it is luxury usually. We came back this weekend though and the service near the pool area was shoddy and confused. Also they have ruined the best breakfast view in the country by putting netting up on the terrace More

Stayed here 3 times now, most recently in May of 2017. On each of my visits I've stayed in the upgraded Ishtar section of the hotel so I can't comment on the standard guest rooms, but this place is amazing! On my first visit I upgraded to one of their large Jacuzzi Suites which was out of this world. The size of the rooms was massive, probably bigger than some peoples apartments! On my most recent visits I had one of the Ishtar rooms which was equally as impressive and very stylish. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in a morning. The breakfast is also top notch as is the buffet dinner. Can't wait to come again!!!

Rested with a son of nine years in this hotel at the end of October. The first impression was good, but it got very bad over time ((((. Food is terrible, even poisoned twice, and no one bothered, SPA treatments are simply at exorbitant prices ((((Food and drinks are expensive, especially alcohol. So a sober rest is provided ))). The rooms are excellent, but need to be repaired, then something will fall off, the cabinet doors will jam. FLIES are a separate topic. I have never met so many flies in my life (you feel shit). Entering the sea is very dangerous, you can be killed. Children have nothing to do there, except in the pool. by the staff. The complete lack of animation, so boring things ...

In my trip to Jordan I planned one night for the D...

In my trip to Jordan I planned one night for the Dead Sea and I really wanted to stay at the hotel with the best spa. I ended up choosing Kempinski, and I could not have been more disappointed. The spa is run down and not very nice in general. As a guest, you pay the equivalent of $60 to use the facilities, more if not a guest. I attached a lot of pictures, so you can make your own call. The changing room was really dirty - hairs and dirt on the chairs, mirrors not cleaned, peeling paint, stains/marks on the walls, rusted trash can/towel fixtures, etc. There is a lot of peeling paint, etc in the main spa room as well. You could say things are rusted because of the salty air, but this is supposed to be a five star hotel, use ceramic, plastic, or something that isn't a rust concern. Or use the fees charged to each guest and replace things as they rust.

After checking in and seeing the facility, I decided not to do the spa at all. When I left I forgot my earrings on the shelf of my locker and when I went back to get them, they were gone. I told the manager and he had me meet with the security team, which was quite a production that took over an hour and treated me like I was under investigation. They did not come across as actually caring and just told me things like that don't happen there. So the spa was a bust, the hotel underwhelming, and the loss prevention team unimpressive. I highly recommend choosing a different hotel, maybe see which one was most recently built or renovated. Do not waste your time and money as I did, and I share this because I looked at so many reviews/blogs in trying to make a decision. I hope this ends up helping you.

Overall this is a great hotel. We stayed for one night only to experience the Dead Sea. The hotel is huge.

What we liked:
+ Great staff, very friendly, gave us a very warm welcome
+ Overall great appearance of the hotel overall, e.g. pools are all spotless, pool staff very attentive

What could have been better:
- Rooms are somewhat outdated for a hotel of this quality level

Very high quality and luxurious hotel right on the Dead Sea. The whole area is designed with beautiful and lush vegetation. There are several very high quality restaurants. The staff are very friendly and extremely attentive. Nine different shaped pool facilities are skillfully embedded in the beautiful vegetation and distributed throughout the hotel complex. The hotel offers direct access to the Dead Sea with private small beach section. Highly recommended are the spa suites with which you have unrestricted access to the large and luxurious spa including quiet secluded lawn without much scramble.

Bad service, asking for identies even we have came for a visit and we have our family checked inn.
Making us waiting outside away from the reception for a long long time, an hour at least.
I recommend anyone who thinks to visit dead sea to avoid this hotel, such a bad service, bad communication and the employees are lost, bad management.
PLEASE AVOID TGIS ONE.
