Not a steak afficionado, but definitely a connoisseur, and this was the best steak I've ever had.

Great atmosphere, very down to earth and not as pseudochic as many other steakhouses. Great service, very good steak. Expensive, but you do not every day. Overall, highly recommended for a special evening
My favorite steakhouse in all of Manhattan and that s saying something! Their mutton chop is phenomenal as well. If the restaurant is busy, they serve a full menu in the bar and can usually find a seat.
another reliable ny steakhouse. put that in you pipe and smoke it
Love this place went there for my birthday with friends and co workers frome duck duck bar in bk
Piece of history of American Steakhouses and New Yorkers in particular. A tribute that is worth it.
Kind of a guy place. In any event, THE best steakhouse in in NYC, bar none. Enough said.
If your looking for some of the best steakhouse cuisine with history thats as rich as the food itself. Then look no further than keens Steakhouse. Highly recommend for any one who loves food the price is well worth it.
This steak house has a history and look out for pipe on the ceiling porter house medium rare is the way to go
The best steak I have ever had.. My wife's lobster bisque was also incredible.. It's not about the price but your experience.. I'll definitely be back and will send other friends here..
Cool atmosphere and a well-executed steak. Docking a star for average side dishes.
The go to place for big special occasions in my family. Took my parents for their 40th anniversary. Great service and wonderful food.
Very worth dining
Prime steakhouse
The food here is always great, but the service has been slow and indifferent on the last two visits. Unfortunately, it's time to choose a new favorite
Long wait. Excellent menu. Slow service. Crowded. Excellent food. NYC prices $$$
Steaks were good, unfortunately the service was not up to par for what I would expect from a top rated NY steak restaurant. Could have just been our particular server this night, unfortunately it was our first time and we love Royal 35, Gallagher's, and Benjamin's, so no reason to go back here. I'm pretty easy to please, and rate 5 stars frequently for a frame of reference.
In my top five of all time great restaurant experiences
Thank you Bonnie and thank you Brandon
This as a well oiled machine of a steakhouse with the personal attention to you and the service that makes it a great place
Long history
Great food
Great service
All in all a great experience
Worth the wait if you have one when you get there
This is an awesome place. The customer services was absolutely amazing. I have never been treated in such a manner in any resturant in my entire life, the way they did at Keen's. The host was such a gentleman and even gave me a historical tour of the place as I wait for my extremely late date on Veterans Day. They were so very accommodating and they continously asked if I needed anything. If I could give this place a thousand stars I would. The food was a bit pricy but it was all worth it. But the service and food quality was so superb, that the price didn't matter. The service here was so amazing that i will definitely go back, I even recommended that people should come here. Portions here can be large especially if you are getting the steak or lamb dinners.
If you re a steak person like I am, Keens is a no brainer. Made reservations for 2 on valentines day and they hit it on the nose. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 medium rare because well.. DUH; it was fantastic! Perfectly cooked juicy and every other adjective you can use to describe an awesome steak! Bacon is so thick and juicy that it doesn t even curl up! Ambience was as good as it gets complete with rich NY housewives drinking and enjoying their weekly pow wow. Recommend this place to any steak lover residing in NYC
Keens is a classic midtown steakhouse. The food was excellent. I suggest getting the steaks "sliced to share" because of the very large portion size. Keens has an intimate atmosphere with a lively bar scene. Easy to order and eat at the bar if you cannot get a reservation!
Good vibes, good food, good service. Excessive prices.
Outstanding food, outstanding service, and a venue with character. If there is anywhere that comes close I'd like to know. I've eaten in some top restaurants but nowhere that offers such a wonderful atmosphere. The ambience and decor give you a real sense of times gone by. A must if you are a foodie.
The bar area is beautiful and the atmosphere is good, the mixed grill and martini are great!
The steak was really good and the potatoes out of this world
Went to the bar and had a wonderful experience. Really nice old school vibe!
Really enjoyed the mutton chop with a side of mashed potatoes! Great atmosphere and fantastic service.
Home of the legendary Mutton chop which in itself warrants a trip to New York. Service and staff are impeccable as is everything on the menu
The signature lamb chops are not worth such a high evaluation. They feel ordinary and have a large amount. The waiters have not reminded them that they are enough for two people to eat. The service ecology is obviously indifferent to Asians.
Every time is amazing and I count this as the #1 steak I've ever had. Couple that with a rich history, fellow patrons who also seem to enjoy every single moment here makes for a beautiful evening any day if the year.
Porterhouse for two amazing, top it off with an ice cream sundae topped of with real whipped cream. Orgasmic.
With COVID, it seems like people are nicer, and the wait staff at Keens is no exception. They were engaged and invested, and did what they could to make our lunch celebrating my sister s 50th birthday as special as it could be.
The steak I got was OK, it was good but not as great as I expected. The whole meal was just not a 5 star experience. Steaks are cook to perfection. It was worth it for the price.
Went here on Tuesday night (with reservations). Arrived a few minutes early but were seated immediately. The place was absolutely packed but it was a very nice atmosphere..our waiter was excellent, food was spectacular, and it was a great experience.
Excellent service, food is very good. The wait is quite long.
Great meal. Classy place. Excellent service. I had the 8 oz. Filet with a side of creamed spinich. The spinich was as good as any I have had. I have eaten at many of the" Best steak in nyc" places and this is certainly one of them. Very, very good. Love the decor of the dining rooms with all of the ceramic pipes attached to the ceilings. Lots of famous people had theirs displayed in the lobby. Convenient location near Macy's, Herald Square. Surprisingly busy for my mid- afternoon lunch but, no wait. Long history here. Very pleased with the experience.
I had a prime ribe, somehow I feel it s only ok,not like wow wow, and table are set way too close, it s hard to have a conversation.
Amazing food! The lobster was really good, and steaks are wonderful, but wow I was so impressed with the mutton chop! Whatever your hesitation about mutton, you can t go wrong.
Perfect place to end a Great night in the City. This goes out to the Beautiful Erica.S ' I think Treating your Boss to this Steak house will make a Wonderful Christmas Gift."
The meat was too tough and the taste was not good. Also, the overall staff response is not very friendly. In particular, the waiters who took out the dishes were too unkind. This is the place I don't want to go again.
I went recently and shared the porterhouse for two. It was good, but I have had better for the same price or less. As for the atmosphere, the only charm you'll get is from the age. I believe it is very old, and people like that. I would too in some cases. But in this case it was kind of cramped and dank feeling. If it wasn't old, it would just be bad. Also, the waiters were kind of odd. They swapped mid-meal, and their demeanor was just off. All in all, this restaurant serves a mean steak. But you can get an equally mean steak for the same price in a much nicer atmosphere, and with much nicer service. One plus is they have house wine for a good price, and a lot of nice steakhouses do not.
Lastly, don't expect to get a drink at the bar before dinner, it was PACKED to the gills with people doing the after work thing, not eating at the restaurant. Dinner patrons also have to elbow their way from one end of the bar to the other to use the bathroom, since there isn't one in the main dining room.
One of the best steak house in New York City. Love the "Pipe" collection on the ceiling.
The medium-rare filled I ordered tasted completely dry. I don't know how they managed to do that.
Had dinner there. I had the porterhouse for 2 with the creamed spinach and carrots along with the french fries. Expensive place to eat but a very good expirence
A NYC institution, you owe it to yourself to try it at least once
My experience was nothing short of amazing. I arrived and from the start was greeted with such professionalism. Sat down instantly for my reservation, had the New York sour to start. The bread and vegetable spread they bring out is a nice touch. I had the Filet mignon and lobster for dinner which was amazing, the flavors were definitely off the charts. Dessert was a creme brulee which was delightful as well. Highly recommend this place, my girlfriend was pleased with her filet mignon as well We will definitely be back soon.
Service was excellent, delicious food, good for parties
Took my team for a Christmas lunch and they we're extremely happy, great food and service. It is always a great choice, sure to impress.
They offer a large range of fresh food. I enjoy dining here. Staff members are always super friendly, rates are fair and the place is always kept clean.
Great old school steak house. I had a filet mignon, my girlfriend had a rib eye. This is my first time eating steak in New York, it is safe to say these are the best steaks I have ever had. We finish our lunch with two cup of expresso, they are amazing too.
I like the atmosphere and steak but wedge salad and oyster were just OK.
It is close to Empire State Building and Broadway, I stopped after sightseeing. It will be served by a professional with good old pride. Not only meal, atmosphere is top notch.
Impossible not to love a steak house that was also loved Albert Einstein and Abraham Lincoln. Simply fantastic. Full of great food, service and history. Excellent.
It s so delicious, the amount is big, the service in the store, the environment is also very good, about 70 knives per person.
Belly dancing was nice. Food delicious. I am not a fan of smoking. But, other then that we had a great time
Great food. Ask for the Pub menu for smaller portions.
Wonderful food and great service. The facility was gorgeous n unique.
