People's are very friendly. City is very near to port. Al kind of ships related services available. Mariner's can get zong internet SIM card at cost of 20$. River water so dirty except this everything looks good.

The Port of Karachi (Urdu: Bandar g h Kar ch ) is one of South Asia's largest and busiest deep-water seaports, handling about 60% of the nation's cargo (25 million tons per annum) located in Karachi, Pakistan. It is located between the Karachi towns of Kiamari and Saddar, close to the main business district and several industrial areas. The geographic position of the port places it in close proximity to major shipping routes such as the Strait of Hormuz. The administration of the port is carried out by the Karachi Port Trust, which was established in the nineteenth century.

The prominence of the port attracted the British, who opened a factory in Karachi at the end of the eighteenth century but disagreements with the Mirs on trade tariffs led to the closure of the factory. The British were concerned about Russian expansion towards the Arabian Sea, so in 1839 they occupied Karachi and later the whole of the Sindh. The port served as a landing point for troops during the First Afghan War. The river Indus was an important artery of communication between Karachi and Jhirk Near Kotri Sindh, was an important river port. The Indus flotilla used large quantities of firewood and it was kept to fuel steamboats. A number of British companies opened offices and warehouses in Karachi and the population increased rapidly. By 1852, Karachi was an established city with a population of 14,000 and a prosperous overseas trade. The modern port began to take shape in 1854, when the main navigation channel was dredged and a mole or causeway was constructed to link the main harbour with the rest of the city. This was followed by construction of Manora breakwater, Keamari Groyne, the Napier Mole Bridge and the Native Jetty Bridge. The construction of the wharves started in 1882, and by 1914 the East Wharf and the Napier Mole Boat Wharf were complete while 1927 and 1944, the West Wharf, the lighterage berths and the ship-repair berths were constructed between 1927 and 1944.

Port as port. The truth is very dirty. The city is not advised to go out. There is a lot of crime and fraudsters. Be careful when buying SIM cards. For some reason, hearing Russian speech, they begin to offer vodka. Probably our brother visited there and managed to get the fame of an alcoholic. In the morning it is interesting to see many of the fishing boats depart, accompanied by the military, and return late at night.

Gateway to the grand city of Karachi. Even though its seems to have lost traffic to port bin qasim, its still a bustling place with cargo shops parked and the huge cranes busily hovering over them. Its also the place where family outings for crabbing can be started from

This place is so calming and peaceful ! Make sure you wear joggers while going there coz rocks ain't no easy to climb . But visit it once for sure :)

Karachi is a good place to visit with family and friends specially in Summer season

Today I've traveled to manora island from keamari Karachi port it was wonderful to travel in the boat if you're on port then must goto manora island / beach
Boat will charge 100pkrs for each person you can also book the whole boat for you
This boat will take you to the Manora island from manora boat stop you have to travel a bit more in rikshaw or public vans van charge 20pkrs each person it will take you to the main beach or manora island where you can enjoy the beach sea food sea shells jewelry and much more
A very famous sufi saint mazaar is also located on the beach i forgot the saint's name but i visited the Mazaar

Boat's are closing after 9pm so try to leave the island before 9 , 10
If some how you missed the last boat then Pakistan navy will take you to keamari port safely I've experienced this situation

It was beautiful. A new place for people of Karachi to hang out. But seriously you can't go till end as its pretty difficult for people to walk on those huge blocks. Though you can just enjoy the view of oyster rocks in front of it. And also the sea breeze will make you feel good. Though its not a picnic point. People who are going there and littering the place must stopped immediately. Otherwise it will completely look like a trash point and harm the sea animals. #letsguide

Overcrowded place.. Not a good idea to hangout there with family specially on weekend. Recommended to visit early morning and enjoy a sunrise there..

Must visit place. You can ride a boat to reach Manora Island and enjoy the beach.
