This place has a lot of ongoing events. Most frequently, weddings on weekends. They have a cafe that's a bit to the pricier side but still affordable. There are trainings held here and lots of activities. Dance classes, debate classes, public speaking classes, occasional competitions as well. Not too big of a place, just nice.

About Kakiseni Arts

Kakiseni Arts: Building a Sustainable Arts Industry in Malaysia

Kakiseni Arts is a non-profit platform that works with artists to build a sustainable arts industry in Malaysia and improve people's access to arts and culture. The organization was founded in 2001 by Low Ngai Yuen, who saw the need for an independent platform that could support the growth of the Malaysian arts scene.

Since its inception, Kakiseni Arts has been dedicated to promoting local talent and creating opportunities for artists to showcase their work. The organization has played a pivotal role in shaping the Malaysian arts landscape, providing a platform for emerging artists as well as established ones.

One of Kakiseni Art's primary objectives is to create awareness about the importance of art and culture in society. Through various initiatives such as exhibitions, workshops, talks, and festivals, they aim to engage audiences from all walks of life and foster an appreciation for art.

The organization also provides resources and support services for artists such as funding opportunities, mentorship programs, networking events, and training workshops. These initiatives are designed to help artists develop their skills and grow their careers while contributing towards building a sustainable arts industry in Malaysia.

Kakiseni Art's flagship event is the annual Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) Festival. This festival brings together local performers from different disciplines such as theatre, dance music comedy among others under one roof. It provides an opportunity for audiences to experience diverse forms of art while supporting local talent.

In addition to KLPAC Festival other notable events organized by Kakiseni include Short+Sweet Theatre Festival which showcases short plays written by emerging playwrights; Urbanscapes which celebrates urban creativity through music performances; George Town Literary Festival which brings together writers from around Southeast Asia; amongst others.

Through these events Kakiseni has created platforms where both established artistes can showcase their work alongside emerging talents thus creating opportunities for collaboration between them leading towards growth within the industry

Another significant initiative undertaken by Kakiseni is its advocacy work aimed at improving policies related to art funding education among other areas affecting creatives within Malaysia’s ecosystem . They have been instrumental in lobbying government agencies on behalf of creatives leading towards more favorable policies being implemented over time .

In conclusion , Kakisensi Arts has played an essential role not only within Malaysia but also across Southeast Asia’s creative ecosystem . Their commitment towards building a sustainable arts industry through supporting local talent , fostering collaborations between creatives , advocating on behalf of creatives amongst other initiatives have led them being recognized globally . As we look forward into future it will be exciting see what new heights they will reach next!
