Yikes

It's a good starter place to gain experience and IMMEDIATELY move on.

The work load is excessive, they offer selective last minute overtime to those of us picking up the "slack". The pay is weekly, but done in 15min increments vs salary or per minute you've worked and not disclosed prior to hire. The pay rate is minimal to nothing in comparison to similar companies near by. There is no room for any real growth within the company, and quite frankly it's because of the relentless antics of upper management. I learned from watching HR's dealings with a coworker that they are here for the company and not for the employees. They literally can't be trusted with any form of privacy, because the HR dept has no understanding of confidentiality with personal issues or when filing a complaint, they like spreading gossip. The traffic control Mgr. Keith is vindictive, conniving and underhanded there is no level he won't stoop to, to push his own agenda. No matter how great you are at your job there is no job security when it comes to that man and his dept. To make matters worse he has a close relationship with the company owners and HR and will lie on employees, falsify documents and even alter projects without hesitation to get what he wants, hence the abnormally high turn over rate. It's truly unfortunate because the owners Trey & Sandee seem to be some what kindhearted from a distance, their only noticeable downfalls are their poor choice in mgmt and the minimal pay rates they offer drafters. However a few of their subordinates (Jenn, Elaine and Keith in particular) are unprofessional and treat people like they are worthless when we kept the company running. Just knowing the extents mgmt will go to, to get hardworking people in trouble is ridiculous, they will look between the door cracks in the bathroom of an occupied stall to see if employees are on their phones! Not to mention all the unsurprising bouts of harrassment and retaliation claims filed multiple times by several people across the departments. Instead of the company addressing the issues with integrity, they covered it up and soon after tried to find any finite reason to fire the complainants, so the company would never have to take responsibility.

If you don't mind "high school" drama and you're desperate to gain WORK EXPERIENCE with no other choice, this is the company for you! However if you value a peaceful work environment have other opportunities available, I wouldn't give K&B Engineering a second glance. The overall environment and culture within that facility was TOXIC, luckily for me I received a way better job opportunity elsewhere doing the same kind of work! I couldn't get out of there fast enough that was the longest 2 week wait of my life! Happy to be free from their destructive grip but concerned for the overall well being of my old coworkers that weren't so lucky.
