Not the best return for scrap, but convenient location for the area...

It seems that they either miss weigh items or just rip you off on purpose. Definitely going to others places when convenience or time restraint is not as issue

Horrible service. Literally takes you more time to find somebody to weigh you then it takes you to unload. I make the trip to Mckeesport and I live in Braddock because service here is so bad

Good place to get rid of broken appliances or any other metal.

Follow 6th street west from Braddock Ave. all the way to the end. Entrance is at the end of 6th Ave. Decent service. Good prices. Pays cash on the spot. I didn't experience much of a wait on a Wednesday at 10 AM. As long as you have your scrap sorted correctly, you are good to go.

I have been going here since the 1970s :) nicest quickest place to get rid of scrap metal :)

After my Boss passed away I was in charge of taking the scrap to this location. When entering the yard, a gentleman was familiar with our company an told me where to go......Waiting for the fella in front of me to get done, I pulled the vehicle to the scale an removed the tungsten carbide covered in silver from vehicle. Then Jim told me I had to move the vehicle while he watched the said scrapped, apon returning the boxxes where opened an very light in weight. An the price he gave me was "VERY VERY Bad", nearly 50% lower than what it should of been. I proceeded to call the owner of my company an he didnt care much of the price, but needed petty cash for shop. Returning to the scale, the gentleman who knew our company said to Jim you know that carbide is covered in silver ? Jim told him to shut up an leave the scale. Wish I knew that short chunky guy's name so I could say thanks for trying to do the right thing. Jim is a short thin guy with a limp an acted like a boss of a company that you would want to work for or come in contact with. So the story is DONT GO TO THIS PLACE unless you want to be ripped off more ways than one.

Fast easy way to get rid of old Steel, aluminum, Etc

Cool place as dangerous as any scrap yard be quick exchange for copper cash received no problem. Would return.

Depending on who weighs you sometimes they get ya on weight. I had a load once that I knew exactly what it weighed and they got me on around 25% of my weight. Other times I think they were weighing accurate and legit. Their prices are usually highest around though

While josh steel co is convenient and easy to use, I really have to wonder about the accuracy of their scales. My weighouts used to vary wildly by hundred of pounds in my old Ford ranger on the same day with gas tank bone dry, and today, in my 1999 standard cab silverado, my weighout was 5300 lbs, when the curb weight of the truck is listed at around 3900lbs. I may need to go on a diet, but I'm not that heavy.

They are listed as open on days they decided to take off. Just wasted my time and gas and sweat....

If the County weights and measures ever went down there on a surprise visit someone will go to jail in that place. Every time I've taken any non-ferrous Metals in there they've taken 30 to 40% of the weight because I pre weighed it before I went.
